Lorex 4K Camera and NVR Configuration, Remote viewing 

Hi ! I just bought a Lorex NVRs system, and I downloaded the Lorex home app and signed up for app. But when I tried adding the a device it said no devices found and now it said no connection . Do you know what I am doing wrong ? Please help :( . Thank you in advance!

Awesome video and information! I’m so glad I found this on RU-vid. I bought 6 of these units from Costco and have been struggling with set up (mainly jerky video playback and live video) wasn’t aware that 4K gave 15FPS. Will try changing to 5MP tomorrow. Hopefully that looks/streams better.

Just purchased almost the same one, except mine has 4 cameras but it's the exact same package. There's no 8 camera one like the one displayed on Costco Canada like there is in the video now. I kinda wanted 6 cameras, but I guess when Costco has this bundle back, I can return it which is the beauty of Costco. $675 as it is $125 off now.

Hi there ! Wonder if PoE ports on back of NVR could be used as a Network Switch to connect Ethernet cables from other computing devices( computers, printers etc.) and creat a small home network or LAN....?

good information. when my wife uses the lorex app on her iPad mini it shows SD. when she clicks on the SD to make it HD the app freezes for that camera and is no longer viewable. the other cameras set in the SD mode however are. does this have something to do with the ipad not able to view 4k?

just curious this softwae looks a tad different than the flircloud I use from my laptop to run my lorex. Is this a new build or what. I have the 6108 series DVR

Do you know if the sensitivity & threshold settings you sent on the NVR itself transfer to the app for notification settings? I get CONSTANT notifications from the app for nothing there!!! I’ve played with the settings on the NVR multiple times and still get false notifications on the app. I know the app has its own 1-5 sensitivity setting but the NVR has 1-100 and also has threshold settings from 1-100. Not sure if they are different or the same.

Great video(s) of your lorex series I watched all of them! I just bought a house and have been researching on which camera system to get then I found your channel, I subscribed! I am really thinking about getting this system here in the US it's about $800. It appears to be quite easy task to run the network cables however how easy is it running between the walls? I know it may differ from house to house but overall how do you get it from one side of the house to the other where the NVR is while using a fish stick? Do I need to make random holes say every so many feet so I can pull the cable to that point then continue until it reaches the NVR?

Great review. I did have a few questions 1.) If you shutdown system in Live View/Main Menu how do you turn system back on. When I do this the NVR is still running or at least the fan is but I have to unplug and plug power back in to get live view backup. 2.) Do you're cameras seem to run hot? 3.) Can I have 2 monitors plugged into NVR and watch both? 1 monitor in VGA and the other plugged into HDMI.

you say let us go to the camera system... and show the screen with stop sign. where do we get that screen . and how do we get that screen..? Do We need to connect the NVR to the TV screen in order to get that screen ?

I recently got an lgcx with Apple TV. For some reason my camera names show up but no video. Any idea why? The cameras show video on my device and iPhone.

None of my cameras are showing during the configuration step in minute 1:52. I have 8 cameras and only one of them shows and then goes black for a while and then comes back on. Then it tries to reconnect meanwhile it is still blacked out. Sometimes is works and sometimes it goes black. It seems to be that the cameras aren't getting enough power. Any idea of what I can do to fix the issue?

Hey I’m trying to figure out how to connect 8 cameras through a switch to the nvr. Can’t seem to get it to work could you possibly help?

Do you have to be on your wifi network to view the footage? Or can you use your Cellular Data? Or do I need to setup a VPN to my home network?

What do you typically run your camera quality at? Better to run at 4k 15 fps or drop it down in quality with higher fps?

I’m having a problem with my Lorex nvr. When I save video and download it to external hard drive my MacBook doesn’t recognise it and i have to format the drive and I will lose all data. How can I trouble shoot this problem ? Is there a way I can just save the day on the nvr and it never gets replaced or deleted ? Or is there a way for me to download a software on my MacBook and log in and save the video from there directly

does the monitor matter? (TV vs Computer monitor?). Does the quality of the monitor matter?

Can you configure all these settings through a web interface or do you have to connect a monitor and mouse?

I had my lorex home app going just fine for about 6 months or more and today I accidentally reset all the settings on my NVR to defaults (not factory reset but everything else) after a few hours of getting all my settings and rules back I went to the home app and it said offline, I tried a lot of things including cache clears, resetting all devices, log out - login and eventually just removed device from account assuming adding the device fresh would work best. Problem is now I'm trying to add device to my account on home app and it keeps failing. Only difference on my screen from your video is after I scan the QR code a screen saying make sure I did setup on the NVR already (which I did and reset the NVR already) and then I click yes and put in the password and after 2 or 3 minutes of "thinking" it says failed to add device. Do you have ANY idea why this is happening? I've tried on my (android) phone running Android 10 and my tablet running Android 9 both of which worked flawlessly before today and now have the same problem. I even made a brand-new lorex home account and still didn't work. It's got to be some stupid setting in network or something right? Any ideas would be appreciated, I'm waiting for the app developers to contact me back as well. Awesome channel, it has been the most helpful to getting this non-user friendly system going!

This is the specifications for your camera's on your system. Not what you said at the end: Resolution/Frame rate 4K(8MP) @ 15fps, 4MP@ 20fps, 3MP, 2MP @30fp

What happens if I register my device to my wife's email, worked great and saw all cameras, but changed it to my email? So far the Lorex Home app won't let me sign in, won't let me change my password as I get the error message "internal server error". When I try a new Lorex Home acct. with a new email it says the DVR device is registered to my email. I have tried to delete the cache on the phone, deleted the app and reinstalling it, I've reset the DVR to factory but nothing works.
