This bride is battling a cancer and needs a wedding gown that can help her see the bright future she has ahead of her. But a tight budget might limit her options. Catch Say Yes to the Dress on TLC - Sky 133, Virgin 162, BT TV 323
So I googled her and yeah she passed away on February 24, 2014 from her cancer. She was still such a beautiful woman and Lori paying for her dress must have made it all the more special for her.
Finding out she passed away, makes me so grateful she decided to go to that shop so her family will be able to rewatch this moment and the joy in her face getting to have her dream dress. Thank you Lori for giving her the gift of joy.
I love how Lori told her don’t cover up her scars because everyone should be able to see that she was a survivor and how strong she was. I think that gave her a boost of confidence that she didn’t have. An Lori definitely did a beautiful thing but I think she knew from the start that the dress was over the bride budget but because she could relate to her she wanted to make sure that she got the dress of her dreams no matter what even if she had to break her own rules!
I vaguely remember watching this shows years ago, didn't Lori also have breast cancer once? And that's why she could always relate to the women who came in with breast cancer.
I'm a cancer survivor and the scar from my cvc line where chemo and blood transfusions and bags of saline and nutrients were given... every one of those things saved my life. Celebrate the gift of life.
Yeah. As a mother myself, I felt it. I almost died when my daughter was born and I think about how much I almost missed so much. Every minute is precious.
@@blazingblasian4257 If a lot of your family has died of ovarian or breast cancer you may want to think of getting your ovaries and your breast removed.
A friend of mine just lost her battle against cancer. She got married during the pandemic, without everything she dreamed of. Her memorial ended up being in the church that she chose to get married into. Tami, my friend, you are a light now, my angel ❤️
I honestly wish l didn’t read the comments only to find out this poor young woman passed away. She looked so sweet and beautiful. I didn’t know Lori was a Cancer Survivor, that was an incredibly lovely gesture in lower the price considerably.
I read the comments ahead a time too I'm glad that lady gave it to her on a discount and was sad to hear she passed away rip I hope the time she had being married was a good one and there was much love condolences to her mom
I just love how Lori broke her own rule and put this gorgeous bride in a dress that was over budget. The dress that was chosen was the perfect dress for this sweet bride. I am so sad that she passed away. Lori is such a kind person.
The most heartbreaking thing about this is she passed away 2 years later :( she was just gorgeous! She fought so long and hard … praying for her family and her husband who was left behind sending my condolences I can only imagine the pain your going through even years later. Rip meridith 🤍
@@leahbyrne3006 yeah she did unfortunately, I looked her name up after seeing this and she didn’t make it. She fought long and hard though , now she is at peace ❤️
I love how her family wasn’t objecting over any dress. They asked the bride what she wanted and if she liked it or not. Unlike the other episodes, where the families always gave full out heartbreaking feedback. Edit- omg TYSM for all the likes-
@@queenareanna3534 it's because the last thing that the family wants is for her to have to fight through cancer. They realise that it's about her and they recognise how hard the treatment will be and I think that it's really inspiring.
When you’re facing cancer as a family, life is really put into perspective and you don’t fight about the stupid things. You appreciate each day with your loved ones more and realize life is too short to waste on frivolous stuff ❤️ Been through it twice, cancer tried to take my Dad at 72 and unfortunately took my sister at 38 💔 This was a beautiful moment for this family to share.
can i say this family is one of the loveliest on this show? I've binged quite a few episodes and I've seen so terrible mothers who mocks their daughters and made them feel horrible. The mom here is precious, no matter what dress her daughter tried, you can see her eyes full of love and admiration for her. ♡︎
Illness has a way of making you realize what is important in life and what isn't. It makes me so happy that she had this great moment together with her family.
I don’t believe Lori messed up and put her in a gown over her budget. She did it to help a bride with cancer. There is no way she didn’t know the price of the dress, she just likes helping women with cancer since she is a cancer survivor herself. Thank you, Lori
She said it in the episode, she broke her own rule and put her in a gown over her budget, they check them as they grab them, so I think she knew the bride would love that dress and decided then and there to help her with it. It really is so genuine though
@@drea1670 agreed, she knew exactly what she was doing, she was going to help her bride. And she was a beautiful bride who had a beautiful wedding a 2 years with the love of her life before the cancer took her. My heart goes to her family and her new husband.
Such a beautiful gesture. I live in Australia and could not imagine no Free Health Care System. I had cancer quite a few years ago and I think was less than $100 out of pocket over the 5 years just from bits and pieces not covered but I had surgery, reconstruction and ongoing check ups for 5 years. Everyone deserves free health care (well we pay additional tax but I think it is less than 1.5% of our wage)
Lori didn’t give back in a small way. She helped this beautiful bride find her dream dress and she helped pay for it. She did so much more than just a little good.
I'm so glad Merideth was able to marry the love of her life in her beautiful gown. Her story is a tragedy. What's worse is finding out she was one of over 2 dozen young men and women clustered in a small geographic area with ocular melanoma. I hope those families eventually get the answers they deserve. Thank you for sharing her story.
ocular melanoma? That can be beat if caught early but they must have not caught it early cause also read it is one of the cancers that ahrd to detect early.
@@johnnyboogalo4897 It's been awhile since I researched this story, but as I remember ocular melanoma is one of the rarer types of cancer. Because there were over 2 dozen cases in a small geographical area, they were looking into possible causes for the cluster of cases...toxicity, exposure to chemicals, etc.
@@playinatlife5778 Reminds me a lot of Erin Brockovich, like there's a small community that got exposed to something toxic, and the young people paid the price. Poor Meredith. I hope someone investigated.
Congratulations Lori for beating this vicious disease, and you're a true blessing to this young lady, what a wonderful gift you gave her. I hope she has a successful treatment and wedding
I have seen alot of these "yes to the dress" videos, but this is the first one that I have actually commented on. The fact that the store owner sold her this dress at below cost really was a beautiful gesture of emotional kindness. I think that she looks lovely. I had another comment that I was going to use for the end of this post, but then I read a comment following mine concerning her passing away. I truly hope that she got to get married in this beautiful gown before passing away. I am so very sorry to hear this very sad news.
As if I don't adore Lori enough, now she went and did this incredibly big gesture?I adore her even more. And also,I hope Meredith gets better soon and have a great and fantastic time on her wedding.
Watching her mother and sister tear up looking at their baby girl in her wedding dress got me going as well. Cancer is a horrible horrible disease and I do not understand how it has not found a cure. Rest in paradise Meredith; you were too perfect for this horrible world.
They already found something for cancer but the medical Industry doesnt give it free cuz they would loose a lot of money in pills etc. Its all about the money, so sad:// a Professor from the pharm industry told me about while i made him a passport. Evil World! ://
I love Lori and Monte. They are two of the sweetest people I've ever seen. I'd love to go to Kleinfeld's just so I soak in some of that kindness. We need more people like Lori and Monte.
Last year I went to Atlanta with my daughter (we live in Germany) to visit my au pair family (1989-1990). My host mother took us to bridal by Lori because my daughter requested it. Sadly Lori and Monti weren't there, but ... all the ladies in the store were just lovely. We were allowed to walk around by ourselves and took lots of pictures. It was lovely! ❤
That was a comment that I've never heard before but I felt the same at this time with the sress of that dam virus I think slots are feeling rock bottom and this made me feel so sad mind you she did look beautiful keep safex
She is such a bright and inspiring soul. You can tell that she didn't let cancer stop her from living her life to the fullest. Unfortunately, she passed away on February 24, aged 26. RIP sweetheart ♥️.
So sad to know she died with cancer and fought hard to live. The inspirations she left is remarkable. I'm glad to see her here at least I got to know a great lady like her and so sad that she had to leave so early knowing the possibility that she could have accomplished more great things. To Lori, you're such a fighter and a beautiful lady inside and out. Your generosity will forever be appreciated by the bride's family and us, viewers.
I didn't know Lori was a cancer survivor!! Bond from one survivor (ovarian/uterine) 6 yrs cancer free! Here's to all of us survivors! I hope to find love and get to say yes one day!
Cancer sucks! I'm lucky to not have had it but it's obliterated nearly everyone on my Dad's side of the family, which scares me. I wish it didn't exist.
Tina I’m so happy to hear from you. I lost my mom to breast cancer and a friend to ovarian cancer when she was just 24. Crazy as it is, I was just thinking about her, the time we had together and her how her daughter is and has been since her passing, about 15 minutes prior to seeing this video. I’m always amazed at how Yahweh works!!! Thank you for your testimony!
I love the Mom and sister - they're so supportive and happy - some of the Moms are so weird and negative, and it's beautiful to see this family so full of joy for her!
Dearest Lori, this video out of so many hit home. I just went through stage 4 cancer. You are so right it just wipes your whole body and mind. What you did for that young lady I can tell you meant the world to her and her whole family. I had some ladies help me with giving me so clothing cause the cost of the chemo meds were so high. I very sad to hear the young lady lost her battle but the smile you put on her face and that of her family will live on forever. Bless you Lori and I pray for her family to remember her bright light. 🌹🌈🌟
I’m in Canada and I cannot imagine having to budget a wedding dress around cancer treatment costs. That is so dismaying. Seeing some of the bridezillas on past shows, this family deserves prayers and hugs. Wish you could do a follow up of the wedding itself.
I'm Australian and I agree. I wish Americans would understand that they deserve free healthcare. My mum died of cancer 18 months ago, and not having to budget around medical costs and to focus on getting better, even though she passed, is the only way to do it.
@@pippiecarr9378 Exactly. it's so terrifying to see people think they deserve that. Earlier this week, someone I know who lives in America was talking about how he was afraid he had cancer, as for the past several months his lymph nodes had been growing larger and larger, and he was starting to feel very tired, and itchy, and overall sick. But he was afraid to get checked out because of the costs of getting tested and then being told he was going to have to get medical treatment that would bankrupt him for the rest of his life. He was like I'd rather just die in my sleep than have to think about that. Like he isn't even scared of cancer - he's scared of the money and what it could do to his family. Damn.
Crying to the episode. Crying to learn she passed away in 2014 from her battle. Bawling that her obituary photo was her bridal photo in this dress. Gonna lay down for a bit now. Enough emotions for one day.
I’m the same way, my mom was diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2016. I know how tough it was for her and our family. I’m so lucky that she came into remission.
I’m so glad your mother recovered! My mom had breast cancer and brain cancer she fought for 5years, I hardly remember her being healthy and she passed in 2018, it’s a horrible horrible thing to watch a loved one go through, love your momma always!
This just broke my heart. Reading in the comments that this stunning young lady lost her fight with cancer. My sister is currently fighting a very rare aggressive form of cancer. So this touches very close to home for me. Rest in peace angel
She can literally get any dress and her mom and sister are going to be in awe because it is that much of a blessing to see this beautiful girl get married after all she has been through. What a warrior she is. She looks stunning in everything, yes.
I lost my mother to cancer in 2016. Lori's gift made me cry. I'm a 6' 5" tall guy, but a heart of gold. I owe my compassion to my mother. I am so grateful that she was such a giving heart. Thank you Lori for helping this beautiful bride and her family, your choice was my favorite pick too.
I cry over a lot of things, whether they’re adorable, happy, sad, scary, etc… but I’m sniffling and sobbing over how completely genuine and wonderful this is 🥺😭
I wear my scars proudly because they mean I was not a slave to cancer. I’m so sad to read Meredith succumbed to her disease but I’m sure she left and indelible mark on this world. Thank you Lori for using what was ugly in your past to bring beauty to others. BC Survivor for 14 yrs.
The way the mom was crying at the first dress 😢😢 you just know it wasn’t JUST about the dress 😞 It’s about her baby getting married, it’s about her daughter having cancer, it’s about her fear of what’s to come and will get daughter recover and she probably was also thinking about how it was strapless and how her scar would show if she kept it “as is”. Probably a LOT of different emotions happening all at once. I couldn’t imagine
I bawled all the way through this. Th pain in her mother's eyes, and she's trying so hard to cover it. My heart just hurt that this young lady was going through something so awful.
@@powelljohn1856 just so you know, the photo is ten years old. I don't look greatly different, I just look a bit more tired! I don't know how we would become friends on you tube, but I'm happy to, if you'd like.
Meredith Legg Stapleton, the all-time leading scorer in USC Aiken women's basketball history, died Monday after a long battle with cancer. She was 26.... she died 2014 February | oh my gosh she was so beautiful and cheerful and her husband was waiting for her to get well so they can have a future....
@@brendadickson8871 It is true. Someone posted the link to her obituary in the above comments! She was an awesome lady, who achieved many great things in her short time on earth. May she RIP!
May this woman rest in peace 💕 Lori, you gave her the gown of her dreams. You made a big difference in her life and her family's life. They'll never forget that!
You can tell Lori does this for more than just profit. She genuinely cares about making the brides happy and giving them their dream dresses. Lori is a real angel sent from God.
I haven’t even watched the full thing and I’m in tears. Bless her and her family. It’s devastating that she’s gone, but she’s with the angels now. R.I.P beautiful girl 💗
This made me cry, such a sweet girl. Its heartbreaking that ahe passed away. Lori who helped pay for the dress was a saint, she made this brides day possible.
her mom's reaction at 6:53 and 7:12- 7:15 made me cry. It just made me realize how much she loves and will miss seeing her daughter like this....happy and full of life........rest in peace Meredith....you were a really beautiful woman and will always be.
What in the world??? I can't stop crying. I was so happy for her and her family. After fighting two primary cancers I know how hard it is on the family. Gosh this was so wonderful to see.
I wish all mums had the same reactions that both her mother and mother in law had. They looked at her with such adoration and love. And even when she said she doesn't like the one her mum picked her Mum was like, well okay I respect that, she to,d her daughter she looked beautiful but also respected the fact that she didn't like it. And when she came out in the dress SHE loved her Mum was over the moon, smiling and crying because she saw her baby happy and smiling. Mums and Dads, your daughter's opinion matters the most when it comes to her wedding day.
Its really sad looking back at this day that was so dear to her, and all the while knowing that she didn't make it. If you didn't know, she unfortunately passed away from her cancer. But thankfully, she was able to get married to her husband before it happened. Lori made the right decision by giving her that last gift, because it made her so so happy.
Lori you were an angel for this family. That wasn’t a small gesture, it was huge. This episode made me cry like a baby. I hope this bride and her family are doing well
I applaud both Lori for her generous gift and Robin for choosing to show her scars to the world that she fought the fight. My scars have said exactly that for over 3yrs now and never a day goes by without me being ever grateful. I wish this beautiful bride a long, happy and healthy life.
@@jeannesbitt1627 No need to apologize, you wished for something beautiful for her. Even if it didn't come true, you were moved and you wanted this young lady to be happy. You have a lovely heart.
I found out she died Lori payed a great tribute by lowering that low and having her have that feeling of bridal was so beautiful may she rest in peace 😪😇
Ok this was so beautiful to watch and I even cried but why is no one talking about how her dress has POCKETS!!! Like what I want a dress with pockets lol 😂
Such a heartwarming episode but so sad to hear that she passed away 16 months after her wedding. In her obituary she was featured wearing the wedding dress . So tragic. 😭
A survivor, a kindhearted person, a beautiful soul and a smart, caring, understanding queen. Lori is so incredible I can't handle it. She's so amazing and the woman who was fighting cancer is so strong and beautiful, I hope she lives a long happy life with her Prince Charming♥👑
This is the first episode that I really cried in. I read the comments beforehand. The bride is stunning. Lori’s help especially when she fought her own battle, I cannot go over this episode
I am in TEARS!! She looks stunning in the gown! Lori was right! Rock that scar because, like me (I'm battling breast cancer) we are #strongerthancancer
*bless Lori, she has an incredibly kind soul, and especially after knowing this girl passed away not long after the wedding, definitely Lori is aware that she helped them in a big way❤️*
when she said melanoma i instantly teared up... she reminds me of my mom, who passed away from melanoma when i was 8. bless lori's heart for helping this woman pay for this dress, and i hope she rests in peace.
