Home built in 1858 for Cosmo Gordon. Property was also owned by Burwell Leavell & Fontaine Maury. Slave cemetery in the back is said to be the resting place of Kunta Kinte from the move Roots.

I've heard of Spotsylvania before. And now after I watched Roots 2016 & Googled Kunte Kinte & Alex Haley. I remembered watched Roots(original) when I was a child & now as a adult I fully understand American History. Thank u so much for all u do! ❤ this is very interesting travels that u do.

Is there an old plantation house still standing on wallers road where Kunta Kinte may have lived. I heard there is a very old structure there which may have been there pre civil war!?

That house in the very beginning is actually used by the county for all recreation sports. I've been in there a couple of times to sign my Little one up for soccer. Supposedly kunta kinte is buried off wallers Road off of farm in Spotsylvania. It's unconfirmed but it's possible

My mother built a home once. It just means it’s her desire, will, vision, and financial obligation. Doesn’t mean she had a tool belt

Yep it’s the same house. Gordon family purchased it in 1819.

I assure you! Kunta Kinte isn’t a fictional character. He is my 4th Great Grandfather, according to my DNA results from Ancestry. 🧬

In the ROOTS movie, Kizzy went to Kunta's grave and crossed out 'Toby' and wrote Kunta Kinte on the marker that was thete. Was that Movie fluff and buff, or is there a sign that says that?
