We are replacing a sliding door that has failed and are considering a Pivot Door. We are on the Florida Gulf coast where impact resistant hurricane doors are required. We are concerned about water infiltration in the pivot door product. Question 1): Have you tested your system for use in a hurricane zone (HVHZ) application? Question 2) : Can your automatic drop seal product be applied to an ANDERSEN Pivot Door Model APD-T with High Performance sill option. (Right side in-swing only) Question 3): Are the internal components of the automatic drop seal product made of stainless steel to prevent rusting in coastal environments?
Hi there. Unfortunately, our drop seals are not designed to work on doors with pivots and have not been tested for use in a hurricane zone. It might be worth looking at a complete tested system. However, If you have a drawing of the particular design our Technical team would be happy to take a look and advise on the most suitable sealing system to meet your needs. technical@lorientuk.com I hope this helps!
They are products used in door assemblies & fire doors - The LAS8001 is a drop seal that is installed at the bottom of the door to form a smoke and draught seal. The Finesse seal is installed in either the perimeters of the door frame, or the head and jamb of the door itself and work to contain fire and smoke. They work together with other fire integrity products on a door to create a system that will contain a fire for a designated period of time. They're designed to be discreet, but they are in most buildings! Hope this helps.
