Lorna Luft shares memories of her mother, Judy Garland.

Hugh Jackman is wonderful as Peter Allen but I've heard Liza say he didn't portray the real Peter very well. Lorna sings his praises and Liza doesn't?

I know people don't like reading and prefer getting their information from TV and comment boards, but "Me and My Shadows" - the book, not the TV miniseries- WAS "Mommie Dearest" in many ways.

@SaxonC MD was a load of junk and reflects more on the writer than the subject. Sadly many hack jobs have been done in print on Judy and other loved stars. Where is money to be had there will always be money grabbers, whether in their family or not.

Rehab centers, usually called sanitoriums or sanitariums, had been around since silent movies. There's even one in "A Star Is Born," where Norman Maine stayed. Judy, herself, had been in some during her movie days, on both coasts. They were designed for the rich, and one she went to had croquet. The theme then was the same then as now... regular meals, bedtime, and counseling.

The host's idiotic question about where the tragic image of Judy's life began is too silly for words. Judy, herself, publicized her various tragedies- Mr. Mayer having black coffee and chicken soup poured down her throat, a special smoking kapo making sure Judy put in 4 packs a day, hyped up and wound down with drugs, overworked, ripped off, wicked abusive mother, and on and on. It's 100% tragic Judy, her own creation.

I had a slight problem with that, also.

Pretty negative post about Lorna, sir. Some of it I agree though. She has said the same things hundreds of times in interviews but at least she tells the truth and one doesn't hear any embellishings of what she has said before. I love her attitude and support of Judy and Liza! Judy was funny and NOT as tragic as the world still makes her out to be. I think "the tragedy book" is hysterical and reminds me of how the late great Joan Rivers made comedy out of tragedy!!! The only problem I somewhat have about Lorna is when she says that she didn't realize she was fromHollywood royalty as a child. That is a stretch because her mother and father DID hobnob with all of the legends!!! "dropping names" you say? Well Judy did know all these people and they loved her!!! After all this time I think Lorna wants the world to see her mother in reality(the good and bad) as we all have both of those things in our lives!

@@markwhitman9029 When parents die children often want the focus to be on the positive memories. Nothing wrong with that. It's understandable how Luft and Minnelli keep pushing how funny Garland was. Shelley Winters said, "Garland could never give a straight answer without making a joke". Luft herself has said her mother wore people out, but then that's not uncommon with drug addicts. The real tragedy of Garland other than the meth dependency was that she worked so hard and was taken advantage of by so many people out for themselves. @@markwhitman9029 I agree, unnecessarily negative remarks about Lorna and the interview .I didn't know much about Lorna Luft, probably my bad not to have, but I found this interview quite illuminating. I'm now intrigued by Ms Luft's life and have found her music on RU-vid. Obviously the negative poster knew Judy Garland intimately and is disagreeing with what her daughter has to say. I know of Miss Judy Garland and keep hearing what a tragic life she led. Anyway, I enjoyed this and found Ms Luft refreshingly honest. :)

Its called a conversation. That’s generally how it works. Pretty standard. Host asks questions, in this case Miss Luft answers. Nice the two seem to have a connection. Agreement is always unanimous, FYI 😵‍💫 As you seem hyper-critical, try looking up tautology.😊

@@darmonweir5910 for your information, I couldn’t enjoy the interview with miss Luff due to the ego of the interviewer. No closeups of her but for every question he asks we instead get him over exaggerating his mug making a mockery of the whole thing. Needless to say, I was not amused 😒

I have been a longtime follower of this Celebrity Drop channel and the interview has never exhibited any ego that I've seen. An informed and respectful interviewer who was hardly making a mockery of the whole thing as you claim. It might also be that Miss Luft didn't want any close ups.

I get the feeling @unknown is nothing but a miserable whinger. The interview was great, the host excellent, and Miss Luft seemed 100 percent engaged and charming. The complainer has obviously never seen an interview where the host asks a question, the interviewer answers. If on TV, both are seen. Its on the news every night. Morning and daytime shows all over the world. 😵‍💫

Guess this is one of Craig’s techniques 🫤 I doubt he’s ever done an interview without the audience having to endure seeing his reactions.

Who made those rules? I must disagree. Have you watched interviews where you either did not see the interviewer, or they merely rattled off the questions, and were ill-prepared? This interviewer is actually interested in the person who he is interviewing. He is also well-prepared, and well-received by the interviewees! What more could one ask?

@@UnoHoo1 I agree with you. Sheesh, there sure are some tricky, difficult to please people about. Every interview I've seen in my decades on this Earth show the interviewer asking questions and the interviewee answering them. This interviewer, Craig, has a great rapport with the celebrities, that is plain to see. The world would never have gotten a glimpse of Barbara Walters or any interviewer if the absurd rule an interviewer should never been seen applied.

Some days, everywhere you go, one seems to find themselves in the “complaint department.” With everything so grim these days in our world, I get that people might not feel at their best, but all the more reason to be nicer to everyone, I would think. But, I am frequently proven wrong.
