Lorrie is one of the genuinely talented ones - a true artist in a world of posers and marketing creations. It's impossible to describe just how difficult it is to sit there like that - exposed, open, raw...just basic accompaniment...one vocal microphone...and then knock it out of the park on a classic that has been covered by some of the best in Nashville and elsewhere. As a singer/songwriter/guitarist of 40+ years, I can attest that this song is incredibly challenging, because it requires a combination of tenderness, subtlety, nuance, and power. You can't just BELT it out like a power ballad, but you also can't whisper through it like you're in a library, lol. And I hope this doesn't sound "sexist," but many female singers [that I've worked with, at least] really struggle in the lower registers when they can't push the air. It's just so easy to go flat. And if her monitors aren't tuned perfectly she can't make those subtle distinctions in pitch. The really good ones, like Lorrie Morgan, make it look as easy as falling off a log, when in fact it's anything but. This is just a fantastic performance, and while i agree with so many here who acknowledge her physical beauty, to me Ms Morgan looks very tired - the kind of tired that results from many years swimming against the currents, experiencing profound heartaches and heartbreaks along the way. I respect her for keeping on keeping on, and I very much hope she achieves a good place in life.

I cant explain why but this over the top Cover from Ms.Lorrie Morgan just gave me goosebumps ALL up my spine and down my arms. What a great voice.I havent heard from this super star in like FOREVER. P.S. "YESTERDAY IS DEAD AND GONE" What great lyrics....If you are married you can doit with your spouse and leave the Devil out of it.... ; ) maybe marriages would last a longer time like grandma and grandpa did. Over 60 yrs in most cases.
One gorgeous woman and probably the most under rated singer out of Nashville.....just like the rest she was cast to the side of the road by the Nashville elite.
Almost didn't recognize her. Till she started singing. She has matured and definetely not in a bad way. Always a beautiful lady, and an angelic voice. Its good to hear her again with a new version of a classic.

She looks pretty for being born in 1959, wow. She looks beautiful and still can sing. I love her! Raised with her music. She is 58 folks I think she still has it... quit with the nit picking.
scrubs The older the violin the sweeter the music if ya ask me. Ms. Morgan is like a fine wine. She’ll go on forever because of the her influences. Her daddy, for one. Sammie Smith too. She also has a rockabilly type quality that reminds me of Brenda Lee who is still more popular in Europe than here, believe it or not.
One hot little mama. My friend had seen her in concert and said incredible. I think I had met her visiting her friend in Chewelah Washington back in the eighties and such a nice lady.
I grew up on country music, Lorrie was one of my favorite female singers, still so beautiful. Tom Jones and Tanya Tucker did this song and man it was a smash!
Well, having just listened to Lorrie Morgan sing a live version of "don't close your eyes" then came here to hear her many years later, real talent and class never fades doe's it. I saw Lorrie with Pam Tillis last year and they were awesome! She and Keith were the best together, especially when they did "Til Each Tear You Cry Becomes A Rose"!!!!
They never recored that song together, after his sad death she went into the studio and removed part's of his vocal's to add her's to it and made a mint by doing so!
Lorrie, you are one of the best singers ever in Country Music bar none!!!!! No one even comes close to you! I have always loved your singing, it is beautiful, now if I could get my teenage son to listen to Country Music, that would be great! ha ha

The First Country Diva. She is still very beautiful. But man back a few yrs ago She was so dam gourgous it was illegal. Her time with Kieth took a toll but she loved him dearly. Great voice to go along with it.
