Regardless of way to get back onto the motorway a little further up, either by roundabout or a short little bit of backroads. it probably took him longer to do that than just carry on straight with the minor detour, that maneuver itself was pure stupidity and completely unnecessary.

why? if he didnt mean to take the slip road all he had to do was go up the slip road turn arould and go down joining slip road less than 200 meters down from there

to be honest he pulled it off and no one got hurt...

I do this all the time in African countries, actually sometimes there is no other way to turn

Well I'm sat watching this in the school parents car park waiting for the others to go. My right knee and femur hurt from the cold and I'm a little out of breath due to a collapsed lung, all due to being hit by a drunk driver. All he got was a 2 year driving ban, reduced to 20 months on taking an extended retest. A year later I hit a car with the back bumper of my trailer, the driver was on a short slip road and she couldn't get out, so slowed down (as a normal person would to join the dual carriageway behind me) but then swerved out infront of me at walking speed, I swerved into a tiny gap in the right lane, but had to immediately swerve back again or I'd cause a crash myself. It was the back bumper of my trailer that hit her. A few months later and the police wrote to me saying they were not going to take any action. The only heavy thing I drive these days is my motorhome, wouldn't go truck driving again for £100 an hour.

The same should happen to every car driver who goes the wrong way up a slip road when they traffic on the main carriageway..

No, no, no, no, no, no. What a stupid thing to do. No making U-turns at junction slip lane. No turning back then. Keep going forward and find the slip lane of the junction that takes you on that motorway from it, if you want to carry on to it. That's the safest way to do it. That's the safe thing to do to do that. Not what you just did. And that's the only way to do it.
