This was filmed in 1991 when LA was an urban warzone. Things have drastically improved since then. Here are the statistics for anyone wondering. Number of homicides in LA: 2017 City of LA: 290 LA County: 632 1991 City of LA: 1,025 LA County: 2,401

Fucking pee wees have no idea who Tom Brokaw is! Smh. He was the ANCHOR AND EDITOR ON NBC NIGHTLY NEWS FOR 22 Yrs. In other words he was in the Big Show, The Major League, while Chris Blatchford was stuck in the MINORS! This Vato did many stories on gang wars in L.A. as well but he was a world news journalist. Chris Blatchford is cool but he was just a investigative reporter locally, although be it in the 2nd largest U.S.market which isn’t bad but, far from anchoring one of the big 3 networks like Brokaw!

My uncle was born in Mexico and moved to east LA at 13, he said, several times a week, someone was either shot dead on his doorstep, or in his neighborhood, he had to ride his bike to school and work, and was robbed weekly, and someone mistook him for a gang member one time riding to work and almost killed him… He’s now one of the most successful men I know.

Thank God I left California, I miss my childhood friends, but the gang life and the homeboys started to grasp my life away from my home family. On two occasions I almost lost my life to the streets , and on those two occasions the homies were there and they scattered like rats instead of lending a hand , I was left alone . Soon I realize that my life was not worth giving it up to a punch of cowards who leave one of there own stranded. My own family flesh and blood are more down to back me up the these so-called batos.

Daniel Guarisco Yeah, however those were just the police described “gang murders” in the City of Los Angeles. The overall number of homicides was far higher that year(1991). 1,025 for the City of LA, and whopping 2,401 for the County of LA... Shit was a fuccing warzone bacc then.

@JamesBrown-fr1lh
@JamesBrown-fr1lh 6 лет назад
GGC63 That was in 2016 not last year. And 700 killings ain’t shit to the 1,000+ killings LA was hitting yearly in the early 90s. And of course LA and NYC have calmed down. Both cities have implemented strong laws and law enforcement. On the other hand The Chi’s law is STILL SOFT af. Trust me I would know, I’m from LA but I have family in both the West and Southside of Chicago.

@JamesBrown-fr1lh 6 лет назад
GGC63 Chicago has never hit 1,000 killings in its history. On the other hand the City of LA alone has hit OVER 1,000+ killings yearly MULTIPLE times before. And the County of LA has hit over 2,000+ killings. And even at its heyday Gary, IN homicide rate didn’t reach that of South Central LA.

There was ot of gangs when i was growing up in school everyone was from a gang or tagging. I think because everyone had friends who lived near them and the whole hood would hang out and back eachother up from bullies and other gangs. Eventually they would end up joining a gang. Now i see my nephews and all their friends live kind of far away and sometimes there hang online. Alot of kids these days just play online mainly. Not like old days

Were there shootouts in the mall when you all were shopping ? That is crazy. Also what if a person had a red car,,,, would the crips shoot them ?
@Three2Three323
@Three2Three323 5 лет назад
You either go to a theater or mall in your hood or you could go deep if its in different territory. Recently there was a shootout between rivals in a bowling alley i think 3 or 4 people died that time. As for the color of the car it really depends on if you look banged out. Idk how to explain but in LA you could tell by how someone looks if they bang or not.
