Hey Swedish Flyer, I am a trip report enthusiast and I must say your video was delightful to watch, you made me feel like I was the passenger. I also took this flight in September 2018, I had a similar but worst experience regards food, I went for pasta and it was tasteless, and believe it or not, we did not have a pre-landing snack service, the flight attendants just gave water!!! Which is why I decided not to ever take Avianca again for this route. Anyways, thanks and keep giving us amazing content.
Just flew business Aug 2022 787-8 dreamliner from Bogota to Los Angeles just over a 7 hour flight. No hot meal. Same exact box lunch as economy. No wine or beer. No pillow or blanket offered/available. Extremely sad. Food just horrible. My opinion probably not worth the upgrade. Only positive to say is that the seating chair can completely lie flat so that was nice. Otherwise, service and food was no existence or borderline same or worst as economy (my friend in economy got the same exact cold sandwich, snack, water actually before me, I was seated in 7A last row of business class he was in 12F window seat economy). Unless you want the extra leg room”it” might be worth the exuberant upgrade for something similar for economy only on red eye flight. Overall same exact service or worse than economy, but obviously better seating.....
