Thank you for riding the Los Santos subway.

it's not a scenic system nor is it very long, but the architecture is perhaps the best of the modern US metro systems. The back-lit overhead station signs are a nice touch. also you gotta appreciate how deep it runs beneath the santa monica mountains on the way to Universal/NH

Even if the facilities aren't always the cleanest or in the best shape, I definitely think the unique art and styles in every station is an incredibly cool element 😎

@HideakiTransit Yes, almost all of the original subway stations have artwork embedded into the architectural design of the stations. I'm curious to see if they continue that tradition in the new stations of the D line expansion.

Love the sound of the ventilation at the start I wish I could get a loop of it. The B & d lines are my favourite in the entire system also cars 515/516 and 539/540 have a unique paint scheme with just one red stripe on the gray body. Great video (edit) I forgot to mention all these trains are equipped with Ato meaning all the operator has to do is open and close the doors at the stations however they can be manually driven. I talked to a b line operator once and he said they have one manual trip per shift. Also the cabs on these units are relatively smaller looking

0:20 interesting how this station uses almost the exact same fare gates at the PATH train in NJ/NY. Love this video! Super chill and relaxing

The stations look good. You can tell they upgraded the lighting to LEDs. They look brighter now.

Good video of the LA Metro B and D lines. I can't wait for them to start using the new subway cars. They were supposed to be coming online by now already. These Bredas are over 30 years old now. However, I read they might end up refurbishing some of them since they were having issues getting enough of the new ones from CRRC. Probably explains why LA Metro also fired CRRC and went with another company to get future additional new cars.

The MBTA in Boston are none too happy with their CRRC subway trainsets either, especially over issues the firm was having getting the trains built and delivered on time. They are still running unrefurbished 50 year old Pullmans and 35 year old UTDC's!

One of a few places you can still see flip-dot signs on trains in America

It would be a lot nicer if this subway were equipped with platform screen doors instead of those silly yellow stanchions at car-length intervals. If a criminally insane person were to push someone onto the tracks, he'd do it when the train is entering the station. Get those platform screen doors built!

The flex posts are actually an ADA requirement, so blind riders don’t mistake the gap between train cars as an open door and attempt to board there. Of course, platform screen doors would solve that problem, but the US is weirdly resistant to them.
