Los Angeles Night Video - Harbor & Santa Ana Freeways - March, 2022

Drivelapse video of several Los Angeles Area Freeways starting in Long Beach and following the Harbor Freeway (Interstate 110) northerly into Downtown Los Angles, and then following the Santa Ana Freeway (US-101 and Interstate 5) southerly into the heart of Orange County. The video showcases the Los Angeles Gateway project which saw lanes added to Interstate 5 through the southern portion of Los Angeles County. The video than progresses through Orange County, California starting from the 605 freeway in Los Angeles County and progressing southerly to just south of the El Toro Y where the 5 meets Interstate 405 (the San Diego Freeway).

That view with the shipping container cranes in the background never gets old, especially at night when it's all lit up. Fantastic camera quality too capturing the night sky. I know I probably say this in every other California ftreeay video with HOV lanes, but Caltrans is doing it right with their 4 white stripes separating the HOV lane from the regular thru lanes.

This was a very atmospheric drive, great stuff. I love your night videos, your one of I-75 through Atlanta is probably my favourite dashcam video of all time.

Those lights at 1:40 and 7:10 look amazing. I love night drives Also, the 6th Street Viaduct seemed to get a lot of attention when it first opened. Didn't expect a LA video, Nice work!

Nice video. And yes - LA does have at least one service interchange with high-mast lighting like we have here in Texas! 🙂

CalTrans certainly doesn't have the same affinity for high mast as TxDOT.

Largest urban agglomeration outside of Asia & Africa. 24 million people live within the LA-SoCal region, which puts out a $2 trillion in GDP: 2nd only to Tokyo; also, the LA-LB port when combined is top 5 in the world.

I really like the look of Los Angeles during night time, especially the skylines, they looks very nice & pretty. I already knew that you returned to San Fransisco bay area, Las Vegas, & Phoenix, but not in Los Angeles, again, you managed to spoil me 😂. I guess that you've also reccorded some other videos there. Glad to see some updates in LA Freeway network. I've seen that you've been less active on RU-vid lately. I know, summer is over, which means that we don't have much free time anymore. Oh, & also, today is my best friend's birthday (She turned 16 years old). So, I'll consider it as a birthday to her.

Remember the southbound I-5 video in Greater L.A. at night in 2020? You filmed that again after recording northbound 110 for 23 miles and southbound 101 for it's last 3 miles because of the new HOV lanes in Orange County all the way to the county line with L.A. County were almost complete.

It's not impossible that I would film videos in Winnipeg (I am a Canadian after all), but I don't have any plans to visit Manitoba in the foreseeable future.

Great drive! Are you aware the interchange on CA 110/I-110/I-10 at 7:28 is called Dosan Ahn Chang Ho Memorial Interchange?

While the white lights make for a better looking road, the addition of blue light could make night time driving even worse for everyone. Blue light at night is unhealthy.

True. Nothing beats soft yellow lights. Any brightlight is unhealthy at night or the day.
