what is with hood people walking near or in front of moving vehicles...like even if there is ample space they'll slowly gravitate towards the vehicle on the roadway. Is this like a flex or something else, it's something so subtly aggravating.
It could be different things. They want to see who’s in the car, see if they know the person in the car, display some type of dominance or dare you to hit them type of vibe, and/or see if they can get an opportunity to pull a robbery/attack.
@@9ner Charlie Bo has a couple food review videos. He didn’t show his face but you can tell he is tall. Plus he’s from Detroit so I know even his calm demeanor doesn’t read punk. He had a few verbal warnings from hood cats. The most aggressive interaction between him and a hood dude. Charlie was driving and the hood dude kept throwing things at his car. I think it was food or something like that. This happened in Detroit his hometown. So yeah.

I didnt grow up in a hood, but I had a really tough, abusive upbringing. so whenever I crossed paths with them I understood what was up and they were caught off guard a normal looking guy like me was unphased by street demeanor. hood folk are still intimidating, but the scariest mofos are the psychopaths with big smiles and dead eyes. they'll ruin you in ways undetected by everyone else. i digress, thanks for sharing your insight
Charlie you should do a walk thru video of Macarthur Park. Also the valley has its hoods too. Blythe st in Panorama city, Sepulveda and Roscoe area in Van Nuys. Lots of diversity in LA

Despite how much people wanna hate on our city, LA is not even in the Top 20 US cities with most violent crime. LA is far from perfect, but it's not what the media always portrays it as.
That doesn't matter with really big cities like LA, New York, Chicago etc. You have to go by areas. The public housing and other areas of Watts which are shown here are gang infested and have high violent crime rates and rank among the most dangerous areas in the country. Also parts of South Central LA. As long as you're not in those areas then you can go by the overall crime rate of the city. Same with NYC. The Brownsville section of Brooklyn, South Bronx, Harlem, and a few more areas hive high crime rates and are very dangerous although overall NYC doesn't rank among the worst.
Colors don't matter as much anymore, these days they looking for certain hats & tattoos. Either way if you're a black or latino male under 30 you probably getting pressed
Charlie, those first 30 secs on the vid is not in a wild area, but it is hood. I work close to that area, and it's chill, and not to the point that you have to worry about your life or where you're at or if you're able to visit. LAX is up the street. You see a lot of tourists around there 😂😂 I always pass through there, and it's never wildin'. Those people there were probably coming out of that hookah bar next to the cleaners. There's a Venezuelan food stand where the cleaners sign is at, and a taco stand close to the corner by Pollo Loco. Never seen tourists have issues around there. The other areas tho is where you gotta watch out but if you don't mess with anyone you're cool. ✌️❤️ I enjoyed the rest of the vid.
Videos like this should make people realize that anybody growing up in LA should NEVER have an excuse to succeed. Go to school, go home, dont go out past 10 pm. No "parties" and especially no friends besides FAMILY.
I've lived here in the LA area my whole life. I've never driven through South Gate. Never had a reason to, never wanted to. A former boss told me she was having a party at her house in Lynnwood and asked me to go. Internally, I said "F*CK NO" lol
Lynwood, South Gate, Huntington Park, Downey, Paramount, etc… all Mexican suburbs… decent areas.. (of course there’s gangs and crime in each area, even the nicest ones.. that’s LA for ya lol)

Been a hell hole since the 80's. Frisco was like a mini-Chicago in the 90s. But the media only covered LA, and rightfully so, was much more vast. Frisco used to have as many projects as LA tho.
