You think it's easy for cops to predict where these might happen. Wtf you think this is. Los Angeles is massive. There isn't enough units to stop these that fast. Easy to judge till you actually have to be the one to make it happen.
@@EAGLEVISION666 I prefer action.....the people should have the right to self defend themselves from thugs even if lethal force is used. These thugs don’t care about the life’s and hard work from others why should the people stand by and just watch their city be destroyed...if the law don’t do it’s Job than just stand aside and let the people clean shop.
They haven't done anything. Nor will they as these robberies happen within 2-3 minutes. Police can't respond that fast even if they wanted to. The only way to stop it would be to allow the stores to have armed guards that could act and inflict bodily harm to these thieves with legal protection. There is zero political will to take such drastic measures. Hence, nothing practical will be done. This is just government officials pretending to do something or care. It's a PR show.
Police is not really the problem, the government releasing criminal on purpose to create impunity, chaos, lawlessness and a feeling of submission by the plebian class, thats the problem How you think crime got so ugly in Latin America? Cuz they don't have cops? No, because america supported or forced governments to so the same, jailing murderers and rapist was a "human right violation, its selfish to jail someone for a murder, the dead ar dead" was the common saying by Americans and human rights enforcers
Don't be fooled. They're not going to do anything about it. It still has to go through Gascon's office (who wasn't even at this impotent press conference).
This has been happening here for years and nothing is done about it. I doubt anything will change. That's why we're moving out of California and taking out businesses with us.
@@ellen3070 They tried that. In CA now you can print your own ballot up at home on regular typing paper and turn it in as a valid ballot. Democrats will never lose a state-wide election there
Could stores not have loop-holed past the $1000 limit by imposing $1,000 markup, and then applying a discount only at checkout? Then theoretically, if you stole a banana or something, you technically stole a $1,000 banana, which would be a felony because you never got the discount. Ok, bad example, because food actually has laws to help keep it affordable but if it were a bottle of soap or something, maybe they could.
@@jaketapper8910 I mean maybe you could get sued for price gouging? But is it really price gouging if you discount it to it's regular price? But yeah, there's probably a ton of other factors outside of my knowledge that makes this infeasible, otherwise someone would have done it already
The city finally took action after 2 years of inaction. Only after high end stores got affected and started feeling their money loss. Disgraceful leadership. Sad leaders.
I want to believe they'll actually stop these robberies, but as a former Californian I've given up on Los Angeles doing anything that actually benefits citizens, so I'll believe it when I see it!
LA says the crime must be stopped the same way the heat death of the universe must be stopped. They have no idea how to do it and as a result, will do nothing.
I highly doubt anything will come of this so-called task force. Just the other day a couple of teenagers carjacked someone, caused a bunch of damage, wrecked the car, and were freed from jail. The worst part is, the DA refuses to press charges against them. This all took place in the state of California.
I'm sure once they find out that each person in the mob stole less than $1000 on average, they will all be forgiven. Otherwise, it will be jail sentences for a week.
These government officials has to be on top of all these ideas, we need action, immediately! Locked all them up, no bail until they paid for their crimes.
You must allow the general public to inflict capital punishment at the time of these incidents. Allowing us to decisively end the altercation and thus send a message to these animals… WE, the general public, simply will not stand for it. No better way than to see they can NEVER do it again.
Its not someone's house, it's some store some rich guy owns. It's not like they're taking hostages, they're just grabbing items and running away. I just don't think shooting down alot of young ppl is worth saving some stores inventory.
It’s not just the people stealing the head of the snake too. The people recruiting and soliciting the stolen goods for resale need to be bought to justice.
Crackdown? Please. There were was a police cruiser spotted with two cops inside it, right at the entrance to Nordstrom while this happened, and they did absolutely NOTHING! 😂
