I volunteered at 77th in 2005 and 2006. Then I got into the Reserve academy in 2007 and have been a Reserve Officer since then. Good times. I did an Airship ride along once, and that was enough. lol
When I retired in 1996 I was working "Motors". I went down to Piper Tech and arranged to go for a "ride along". Finished my tour of duty and parked my Kawasaki on the flight deck. Los Angeles is a fantastic place to work. To see L.A. from the prospective of ASD, is a whole different world. KMA
Looks significantly different now than when they filmed Blue Thunder there. I read somewhere It was apparently opened the day after BT film crew had finished there
I know this is late, but I'm just watching this. He was giving two examples of round. The first one he said was .223 not .233 like you said and 7.62mm which is .308 in civvy terms. .223 being the civvy word for 5.56mm.
+Andrew M they have a ramp that goes up there. and they park it there because it belongs to that group. plus the area where they park cop cars maybe further away so to let them change into gear and jump in the trucks rather than change into gear and have to walk all the way down stairs and go half a block down the street.
I'm alittle surprise why the LAPD helicopter pilots wear OD green color uniform/jump suit(reminds me of county Sheriff departments uniform colors)instead of the same midnight blue color as the uniform patrol officers.
How have you liked it? Are there opportunities other than clerical work for volunteers? I have actually been thinking of volunteering at my local station starting soon.
In a nutshell the flag represents liberty and constitutional rights. It represents an opposition to oppressive and intrusive and unlawful government that restricts, infringes and oppresses rights and freedom.Now, the irony comes because LAPD is one of the most unconstitutional law enforcement agencies in America. They have a near blanket policy of denying concealed weapons permits, even to non prohibited people. They support and enforce unconstitutional gun laws. LAPD has an unconstitutional media and press pass policy that the majority of LE agencies in America have already abandoned. So while they fly the Gadsden flag they certainly don't mind treading on the rights, liberties and freedoms of American citizens.
