I was writing then and I still do here and there in 2022. graffiti has evolved and so has the painters. to each each his own though. some can appreciate it for "art" others just do not appreciate it. I've learned what's ok to paint on and what's probably not ok to paint on. some of us are wild and some of us are a little more mellow about the bizznezz. some like to bomb some like to piece...idk. it's all good. if your going to engage in this lifestyle, just be respectful of everyone and everything that comes with it. Good and bad.
Wtf, go graffiti on your mom property or your own house, wtf. Oh forgot, all you losers are on section 8 living on our taxes, TF you own anything. Go get a life worthless shit!
This is how it was in the early 90's, I went to school with many crew members. Only thing I hated about some of them is that they would tag over graffiti murals that took a long time and detail totally disrespecting the art.
@@paperboy856”a real tagger” is just like every other taggers: attention seeking clowns 🤡 shit is lame asf lol You will understand when you make it out of highschool
This is me started in 8th grade i started doin my own style next thing i know i got 10 names...goin into highschool better then the senior grattiti artist's...i had 3D characters and steel letters..wildstyle hitting up undergrounds...ceilings...my room.. bombing walls cars alleys curvs..i even hit couple trains an 18 wheelers :D Good times!!!! Im 41 now an i can still kill these toys haha
Im 54 grew up in San Fernando and down town los Angeles. Took the bus everywhere watching ghost from UTI , ment from inf all writing as teens .skating boarding surfing and smoking weed . we were more like a party crew than gang and hoodlums. It was a different time.
Those days were cool no lie but Once u get older and have kids /family none of this helps u in real life society where having an education and a degree matters more in life ain’t easy and definitely harder when u have a criminal record and no diploma or degree to get a good job to support the family. Raza need to focus on better things and leave this mentally in the past for a better future for the next generation. Much respect to all.
Thats your story there is many artist that took their name from the streets to art galleries started clothing lines making probably more then you make in a year by just selling a couple of pieces in art shows lol you fell off old timer vandalism will never die we are a product of society.
NHD,TM,AIS,SAS,NTS,KAK,KK,STK,STP,KRL,CEW,J2H,BYC,W2K,CW,EK,D2S,NR,ONB,HTR,HNF,DIA,CNE,NEA,NSW,C2D,NBT,KWS,SSK,OFA,.....JUST A COUPLE OF CREWS WHO TAG BANGED IN THE 90S ..
In 1987 we made evil kids in the city of Orange California. We were huge, even getting on this broadcast. Luckily most members changed Their life around and left the life. Fun fact, we EVIL KIDS battled STK in 92 and made them lose the name. We are now a gang that's really no more. We reside in Edna Park in Santa Ana California Orange County California.
So, you called yourselves Stupid Tagger Kreeps? That's stupid guy! Aren't you embarrassed? You all can't even use proper grammar. Damn, I've heard some whoppers in my time but this one tops the rest! 😂
My homie was locked down with a dude from EK... he said we were clicked up after that and I actually put it for about a year with my crews in 94 in North Hollywood.
I grew up in this era and knew guys who got arrested for tagging as middle schooler and high school. One thing i didnt understand is how are you going to try to "get known" but at the same time stay anonymous.
Graffiti artists want their names seen/known/talked about all while keeping their identities concealed. Only ppl who would know them by face are other graffiti writers or police.
Tagging had nothing to do with carrying a gun, shooting people, getting jumped in to join a crew, That's all gang shit. What you are seeing here is crews that evolved into gangs, not real taggers, just look at how fckn toy their tagging skills are, they look like they couldn't even make basic bubble letters. And I lived grew up during the same time as this video, early 90's in Los, a tagger as well, there were many famous artist taggers, one's that didn't just mindlessly write in little kid letters a name, but rather created a form of art, my personal favorite was HEX, yeah there was Chaka, Oiler, etc, and they too did some badass bombs but Hex was my favorite, and that's what tagging was all about. I also feel that Fox News 11 liked to always focus on the most negative aspects of the Chicano or latino community as a whole. But yeah these individuals weren't taggers, I mean come on, posing in group throwing up in hand sign your crew!!! Lol!! bro that's gang shit!! 🤣🤣🤣
WRONG! I was tagger/writer long before "TAGBANGERS" and then I became a GANG member afterwards!!! But I NEVER banged "TAGGING" is all about graffiti!!!!....TAGGING? I did that! BANGING? I did that too! But Never TAGBANGED!
There were very few artist tagging was a bunch of delinquent kids vandalizing the streets the 90’s were the bizzness active gang members taggers party crews the streets were active now anybody in the life is trying to keep something alive that is dead
I've been there, done that from '88-'05. Now, I'm showing my kidz a better way. My daughter just graduated... Class of 2024. My son is taking college classes while in high school and plays volleyball. Nothing like me broke the cycle.
Yes...we tagged...but there was less depression. Gen X has remained the most productive and strong in todays times. 💪. Today ...the human is weaker, talentless and struggling with identity. I miss the 90s baby.
I think it would be a fascinating follow up to see if there are any of these kids still in the area and what the lives they lead look like in 23. I know a few guys that did this and they are all in prison, are junkies or dead. I am grateful I am not from the this type of culture. Feel sorry for people who want their streets to look like such a dump. To each their own I suppose.
80s gang members were worse, in the 80s alot of guys worked out , knew how to fight, & weren’t scared to shoot it out either. By the 90s those same MFs were addicted to crack, getting locked up, or dead by that point. 80s LA was much more dangerous than 90s LA, gang injections were in full force by the 90s too.
