i'm seeing a few comments pointing out how a guy in the back kept saying "come on" when they were saying their poetry-- it's traditional to both snap and say the phrase "come on" when you hear something you really like during a poetry reading. he was more than likely cheering them on:)
SugarieDreams Thats really not the point. There are men out there who think women are less than and that their only purpose is to be wives and have children. Hell, if a woman wants that its okay but thats not a mans role or anyones to push onto a woman. The quote means that (at least the way I see it) some men hear “Equality” and don’t think it means that we want equal opportunities, they think it means they can hit us back. Which duh if a woman hits a man he can hit back, but they think of themselves and not the main focus, which is that women who are suffering at the hands of men everyday need to gain their rights and be just as equal as any man. Especially those who think we have no purpose but to care for grown ass men and babies.
I’m a bit worried that my comment can be rude but, here I go! This was awesome! It’s awesome that they got together and spoke the truth in the most powerful way possible!
@Janet Nguyen -21 for everybody here, retarded does not mean dumb, it technicially means slow, and it is mainly used to define people who have a slow time learning. It isn't supposed to be used as an insult which is why it sickens me when people do, bc it is offensive to those people and it makes the word seem so negative when it isn't supposed to be.
I love this poem and it remains one of my favorites in my three years of watching slam poetry videos. The fact that girls this young could do something as powerful as this makes me so happy. Lots of love to them ❤❤❤
you forgot to mention the retards that think that they're victims when in fact they live in the most privelaged time on earth with more technology than sent a man to the moon at their fingertips.
@@christiandaelemans Can you please be stop I am so annoyed of people being like this. I am done with you being so high and mighty. This person was giving us a warning of people like you who have no sense of humbleness. You don't get to hate on someone because they are stating facts.
Adrianna Padilla women have every right that a man has, they get paid the exact same amount for the same jobs, and most of the time stuff like razors that cost more for women actually cost more because they specially designed for women and are made to fit women’s needs. you aren’t a victim. stop trying to act like one.
2:30 (or somewhere around there) they say something about Congress having more control over are body than we do....this was made in 2016 and here we are 2019 being told we can't have abortions and we have no consent...this is sad
You earned that women card bruh. Anything touching your soul the way it did to you definitely deserves the card. You fucked. And you're lucky were in this era
@@softhoneyaffs7675 good for you, im glad :) unfortunately you're experiences are not the experiences of all women, and so this video hits home for many different women for many different reasons
"Where I live, this never happens." It doesn't matter, horrible things happen to women in different places which is why this poem was created. To show in general what women have to go through. Don't go against the whole video just because you have a comeback towards ONE point. Also I'm not entirely sure if you guys are familiar with satire?? ITS HUMOR like it shouldn't be taken completely seriously. A lot of it wont be true and that is because its comedic.
To all the people who are leaving hate comments, Mkay so here's the thing, this is a compitition (or something like that) where you do a slam poem about real issues. Just cause you haven't experienced any of things listed in the video doesn't mean they don't happen. I'm not saying we should all head to Ottawa or storm the white house yelling 'stop these things!' But maybe we shouldn't say it's not happening. These things, these words, were created because it happened at least once. And maybe it didn't happen first on a girl, but the people in this video, I'm pretty sure identify as females and they would receive a lot more hate if they started talking about problems dudes have. I know a lot people will dislike this comment and leave comments saying I'm wrong, but right now, I don't care. I think it's amazing that these people have the courage to stand up there and talk about this stuff. So now, to the people doing the poems, Ya'll are awesome and I think you guys are super cool. I wish I had the courage to stand up there and talk about this kind of stuff. Keep doing what you're doing (aka being super cool) and ignore the people who try and drag you down. From, me I guess
A lot of people in this comment section only hear what they want to hear and not even the entire message. I think these four young women did great and their message was strong! ❤️💪🏾
And the people speaking "poetry" say what they wanted to say with nothing to back it up except lame 1st world problems. I dare you to try to take that shit to Romania and Africa
@@chyluvr I can easily debunk their statements if you want me to. Yes, people MAY experience this. But this doesn't represent all of our society. And they say these things like men are the bad ones.
@therealbomb_ com I do agree that most of it was exaggerated, however I’m pretty sure they’re talking about their own experiences. This was probably meant for the “few” who can relate with experiences of their own. This is just what I think, though.
@@cronch9716 Considering that these women work at the Huffington Post, I just thinks it's unlikely they've experienced this. Also, if they did, why didn't they report it to the police?
none of the comments reference to the fact that this is was a woman will go through on a daily basis. don’t let your misogynistic minds ruin a lovely poem just like this one
@@rylan.nahulu How about you consider first that this is another woman telling what she had expirenced herself probably. The other women who commented probably haven't exprienced the same thing. Learn that different people experience different things first before you tell her anything else.
I know I'm late. Like really late but. There was sonme guy in the back constantly yelling "come on!" Like it wasn't true what the girls were saying. I felt like I needed to point that out. I'll go now.
In poetry slams, “come on” is a form of encouragement. Almost like a “keep going” sorta thing. He didn’t mean to make a negative remark, as is snapping, it was just a way to tell the poets that they’re doing an amazing job and should continue that momentum
Today this 2 boys were sitting in my seat so I told him to move. One boy staid sitting and the other stood up. I kept telling the one boy to move when his friend said, Come on just move she's a girl. We have to respect her. I almost screamed at him. I said, no don't respect me cuz I'm a girl, respect me cuz I deserve it
@ all the disgusting people asking for sources.... do you watch the news? why don't you do your research instead claiming everything that you dont relate to or that doesnt directly pertain to you, as false? y'all give me headaches damn
I mean, some of the stuff there talking about is facts. Atleast I’m the United States- none of this is true. Google every “fact” they state and it’s all bs
This entire comment section is a mess Some of y’all are pointing out what happen to men and what they do and the same with women Is it that hard to realize that there are certain things that happen to women more often than they happen to men which is why people notice them more and there are things that happen to men more often than they happen to women Everyone just groups men and women as if all men are the exact same and all girls are the exact same. Some girls say they can do the same things as a guy and they can but not all girls are like that because some girls actually like being all cutesy and being a stereotypical girl basically but not all girls are like that and the same thing goes for guys. Some guys like pink and are more vulnerable but not all guys are like that because some guys might prefer to be a tough and stereotypical guy, you know the bad boy act and stuff. At the end of the day isn’t everyone human actually forget that no matter what you are a man, woman, dog, potato who cares just stand up for each other dont we all exist on one planet so just be nice to each other it’s not going to kill you But then again... I’m 14 so what do I know🤷♀️
i agree with what you're saying, but the video puts across a message that women are the only ones that have problems. i'm all for equality, but the feminist movement is the problem, not the ideology.
@Brendan Hopkins I guess it kinda depends on which movement you’re looking at when it comes to feminists. Usually some stick with the same ideology while others often drift towards a more radical side. I feel most of the comments clump feminists as the latter which is somewhat concerning
Brendan Hopkins the feminist movement is about the right to chose, for anyone. The feminism movement isn’t the problem, it’s the people putting the wrong face on it that’s the problem. But then again... I’m 14 so what do I know.
Why is it that the people in this comment section only seem to have heard *one* point in this poem? And that's the wage gap, which I'm pretty sure was supposed to be a joke. Oh wait, I know why. It's the only thing they have a retort to so they choose not to hear anything else. And it's a stereotype that women have selective hearing.
lol u bum, feminists like you disgust me because you don’t know your shit and all your against is of men. It is totally illegal to harass your maid and it is totally illegal to pay women less. It is also proven that the razor actually costs more if you’re a man.
Yea we don't understand, that much is true. Don't understand bullshit when I hear and see it. It's called common logic buddy go fall off a horse and experience it
@@marissaburdock6550 and why don't you use that god given brain of yours and step your game up and shut us up with evidence. Go on. You talk all that rah rah shit show me the smoking gun that proves your statement true. Because so far you haven't proven shit except for your loud stupiditiness. It's fine. I got time. This comment section I'm sure ain't goin no where. But the longer you take the more I'm right
Lmao I love how a lot of the guys in the comment section bring up these random issues(they don’t even care about) that guys experience to just to weaponize them and not even do anything in real life to help fix the issues they say they are “fighting for”. Lol if you a lot of you guys really cared about the actual problems then you wouldn’t just bring it up as soon as someone mentions their a feminist 😂.
Notice how most of the youtube community are men. Notice how several of these so called "facts" are lies, some of which used to be true but now they aren't and some are just fake. Notice how ordinary men who use youtube and like to watch video's come across this one and are targeted for just beeing a man. What do you expect, should men by happy and have tears of joy?
Notice how most women disagree with You? No bullshit. Look through most of the comment within the sections and read the name and comments. You picked the wrong video to try to talk shit when you can't back it up sweet heart
notice how you"re a fucking idiot who thinks that saying "ohmahgod men is MYsojenISt" is an actual argument. a penis does not make someone's opinion invalid, and you seem to be too dim to realize that.
Chills. Really? This is what I meant about the video bitchin on little simplistic weird shit. People from other world see this as "1st world white people problems" my Romanian family see people like these girls in this video and actually say that to me. In there native tounge telling me why parents cant teach little girls to close legs when having sex. They lol also asked me once why don't women work harder like men lol I told them that the women in America aren't like Romanians. They are too dependent for everything except sex
Listen up everyone, if you want to state your opinions, don’t. Because all you do is start arguments and state things that we all know you wouldn’t say to your mother or father. Of course males encounter the same problems and have the same fears, and women can be the ones who do bad things. This video may not state pure facts but it has a point and I’m not trying to say that everyone has to agree with it or have the same opinion as these four girls. But you don’t have to come here and rant about how men have it bad too, or that this is wrong, the facts are wrong, it’s all stupid. You believe that but the next person after you might not believe that. If these girls were to stand up on the stage and talk about male problems they would be boo’d and then all of the negative commenters would say, how can they talk of such a situation if they aren’t even male. They said it, they did it, they spoke this poem amazingly. Listen to it and move on instead of being pressed and starting arguments in the comments.
I don't think this is pro feminism or against it. like everybody has comments saying they hate this video or they love it and why. it's all about interpretation. I see this video as a statement not a persuasion. the things they share aren't accurate for everybody but people do deal with it. you can't just assume these girls are terrible people because they are speaking of the rare reality.
Kali Snyder No, the things they share are not accurate at all. There is no "accurate for everybody". They aren't using anecdotal evidence, they are using false statistics to make their points, which ultimately makes the statistic (and their argument) false.
