Thats the beauty of ESC: most of it is nordic style discopop but there are always a couple of songs going into completley different directions, to the point of bonkers 6000. Which still kinda fits right in since the whole event is a bit bonkers.

Seriously. Those little musical transitions and vocal flourishes from each song that somehow fit together like puzzle pieces - that's what set Bill's mashups apart from the rest. Most mashup DJ's just find two songs from different genres that happen to have the same tempo, layer one's vocal track over the other's instrumental track, and call it a day. Bill combines two songs in a way that almost sounds like the two bands actually wrote it together or something. He has such an amazing ear for this kind of thing.

This is great. That "fuck!" it's even funnier if you know that the lyrics from Macarena ("Macarena tiene un novio que se llama...") are talking about Macarena cheating on his boyfriend (with two of his friends, nonetheless). I like to think that "fuck" is the reaction of the boyfriend when he found out.

When I first started listening to the Bill McClintock mashups I knew he could easily take his place among some of the RU-vid greats like ToToM and Wax Audio but now I realize not only has he surpassed them but he was always going to.
