My mom "Loved" this song! I remember when I was a backslider and in my addiction. My mom wanted me to hear this song. She played it for me in her car and I just started crying and she was crying too. She passed away in 2014 but i thank God I was clean and sobar at the time. I did it for her & for myself. TYJ 🙌

"Heaven" was written by guitarist Henry Garza of Los Lonely Boys at age 18 as a prayer for the loss of his infant son to sids. How heartbroken he must have been. The influence of Stevie Ray Vaughan can be heard in his playing. He makes his Fender Strat cry... beautiful, very deserving of the Grammy this song brought them. He is accompanied by his brothers. Over 20 years have past and still brings tears of sadness yet a comfort. Just how far is Heaven. It's as far as how long it takes to say "Father, forgive." Say it with a heart that means it. Put your hope and faith in Jesus. He paid the price for your salvation with His life. When it is your time to exit earth, you'll be in Heaven. Nothing better to look forward to.

My mom dedicated this song to when I was locked up doing 1 1/2 years when I won my case I got to go see her she passed away a few days later. This song reminds me of her praying for me. This song is so beautiful. Back in 2004 I was a new mother, ...and my baby boy was so colicky and cried in pain from acid reflux. I was a wreck from stress, sleep deprivation, and anxiety of worrying about my new baby as I had no clue what I was doing. I would hear this song come on, and immediately I was brought to a place of peace, and love and try and think that one day my son would be a teenager.. it's 2023 and he's now 19 and still the light of my life. Thank you guys for this miraculous and beautiful soul song

I was born in "99, my mom had a similar situation with me. Colic, acid reflux, you name it. At 27, despite a lot of things too long to explain, she says she was still a kid. I remember riding with her to visit my old man in prison. When this song came on, the dial was always at max. Heaven was just across the South Carolina line for us. She didn't know how to talk to me and I was a 5 year old. Music was how we connected. We sang through all the hard times and we still do. Songs like this are all I have left of my childhood. Music is all I have to make me who I am. Life is hard. Songs like this make it easier.

During one of the lowest points of my life going through severe depression I truly wanted to end everything, but then i remembered this very song and went to youtube instantly and looked up the song. Listening to the lyrics and thinking about what i was going through i busted into tears. This song is truly a blessing and powerful, it helped me get through my lowpoint and now im blessed with a beautiful wife and 4 adorable stepkids who love me like i was the birth father. I was Blessed to meet these guys when they were kids living in San Angelo in 1990 when little Henry was 12, Jojo was 10, and Ringo was 9! These kids now young men have gone a very long way! What Blesses me is that in 1994 at the very same place where this video was recorded at the old St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Hall in San Angelo, I gave a talk at a Search for Christian Maturity CCW, Catholic Christian Weekend on the same exact topic that this song addresses! When I saw this video in 2002, the hair on the back of my neck stood up! I don’t see this as coincidence but as a Miracle of the LORD! I’m so glad my friend Willie Nelson helped these young men reach their goal by becoming one of this world’s great rock and roll band! Every time I hear Little Henry’s guitar solo on this song, it reminds me when he as a youngster would jam to Stevie Ray Vaughn’s songs! I’m so proud of these young musicians from my favorite town from thirty years ago! To me it seems like 1990 was just yesterday!❤️🎶🎸🎤

Several years ago my son asked what I want for my birthday. I said "maybe learn to play some of this song - it's one of my favorites". He gave me a Priceless gift - a self made video of him playing this song part on guitar, part on bass! We don't see each other much but every time I hear this song I go and watch his video version. How far is heaven? That is a mighty question. Long have I considered it. I’m no closer to understanding it with strong confidence. I’m closer to my turn now. My daughter who just entered her 30’s a few years ago suddenly passed from cancer. I’m ready to ask God to let me see her one more time so that I could explain important things to her and tell her I did all I could to love her. If it doesn’t happen, I will not go away meekly.

My father passed away a little over 2 years ago from cancer. He was my best friend in the world. Among many things, we especially bonded over our love for good music (specifically The Beach Boys). We don’t share a memory involving this song - I’m not sure we ever talked about it - but like a lot of truly good music, it reminds me of him. When I hear this song I can feel myself becoming closer to him up there, it makes me feel like something about him is here even though he’s not. I guess heaven isn’t too far after all.
