This looks like so much fun! I was only 6 years old in 1988 and hadn't even heard of the "furry fandom" though I consider myself to be a born Furry! RIP to Robert Hill of course.
This is an amazing look at Furry before the stand-alone Furry Conventions. I'd like to know more about Hilda and the Bambioids. The Max Headroom impression was spot-on.
He did the digitizing and got his paws on the deck that got the tapes to play. These were on 8mm video and all the later hi-8 camcorders we got wouldn't play these tapes. Well they could play them but the sound and stuttering made them unwatchable.
I have to ask, at the time, how did the public react to the early rise of furries at the time, and do you think if you guys didn't go out doing these events and cons, that any of this would take off?
Not a re-upload but the same suit at a much earlier event. We just got our hands on a working video-8 deck that doesn't screw with the sound and was able to digitize this tape yesterday. The other Hilda video's are from 1989 while this was late 1988. So this is pre-furry convention footage.
