Greed is just anxiety for more because you mistakenly think you haven't had enough. The reality is that you Have had enough! The way to solve this is to slow yourself right down and if you can settle away the anxiety you will get rid of the greedy feeling. People are afraid of using the judging word greed. But I found it an accurate way to describe my own feelings when wanting to wolf down a lot of food. Lol. Once I linked greed to anxiety I solved it by slowing my thoughts down and settling myself down just using ordinary self control. I hope this helps you. Greed is always wrong but I can calm down the anxiety that goes with it and thereby stop eating, or just have what I need for energy.
Ha , just found you guys, so lovely to hear you explain how of it. I would like to add, cooking less food and if there is some left over , just put it in the freezer. Another thing which I have found is drinking more water helps and only going to the local farm shop to buy food which I have to cook, instead of fast easy food I can just put in the microwave, this has helped me. Having to learn to cook has stopped me just eating out of habit, watching films and tv shows. The other thing is by stop eating ultra-processed food and having to cook and prepare food, stopped me snacking. It also reduced garbage of paper plastics packaging, saving on bin bags. Anyway great video thanks for sharing.
The information you’re providing in these videos is pure gold. I’ve paid hundreds of dollars just to hear the things you two are saying in this video. I have a lot of “listening” to do but I think it’s going to truly benefit me in the long run. Thank you so much for your expertise.
To me the is the best of your videos and contains all one needs to know for weight loss. Why so few views? I guess that reflects the state we’re in. There should be thousands of followers here! You guys are awesome. Please don’t become discouraged and stop these videos. You are helping people such as me. This advice is really life changing.
Thanks so much! So glad to hear that it's helping you. It's pretty different advice than the standard diet advice that is currently being pushed in the fitness industry, for many people they simply don't know there's another way. We're working on getting more videos out about these methods, because you're right, it really can change your life.
I did this for a while a few years ago, and it was very freeing...but somehow I reverted to old habits and havent been able to get back to it. Very disppointing. Feelings and stress in my life just got so overwhelming I think. That and stomach issues made worse by an empty stomach. I don't really know. I am trying again.
Do you recommend jumping in 100% all at once or would you suggest allowing yourself some emotional eating at first to get adjusted to the change? Like 70-80%... I noticed that this increases my anxiety.
Have a quick question I am probably about 125 lb overweight and I can go probably had a day-and-a-half without getting hungry is this okay? I ask because in this video you said to make sure you're eating enough to fuel your body for the day. Thank you
Hey Juan, thanks for you question. If you're not feeling physically hungry in the moment, your body is telling you it has enough fuel, so waiting is going to be perfectly fine. Typically you'll find you need to eat a lot less than you think you'll need, and in the beginning this can feel pretty strange. Over time your body will self regulate and you might feel physical hunger cues more often. Try this out and let us know how it goes :)
A thought occurred to me as I was listening. Babies are like this. We are born like this. Ever try to feed a baby that isn’t hungry? You’ll get the food spat back at you. Haha. But when they’re hungry they let the world know. We’re trained out of this unfortunately.
That's a really interesting point!! We do tend to get conditioned out of listening to our internal hunger cues as we grow up, which in turn just makes things harder in the long run. I like that reference though.
My meals could be really small if I only ate until satisfaction. And you said that it’s okay to eat more than 3 meals per day if necessary. But what about when ‘they’ say that you must not eat too often (more than 3x/day) so that the insulin can go down far enough in between meals? Because you can’t lose weight if there insulin in your blood.
Hey. You said you had fish and what? You cut it off of what you was to say you had with fish. Do you guys eat healthy foods, sweet, high carbs or do it matters if your just eating when hungry?????
Hey Debra, thanks for your question. I think we may have said we have fish and chips, we often eat fish with a lot of different things too. We eat a range of foods and try to include as much fruit and vegetables as possible. We don't have a particular eating style (low carb, high carb or anything like that) and instead aim to eat when physcially hungry most of the time. There will be some times where we'll eat when not physically hungry, but if you're using those cues as a guide most of the time, you'll be on the right track :)
