@@xezbo6318 He stopped the game because it looked like a serious injury. With technical players like they are, I understand the caution, because it looked first like a knee injury (ACL area) You can see that by seeing the continuing move. A dropped ball. Not a free kick.

@@nicolaizernikow6734 It doesn't matter ..ball was in play...so if the guy had a serious hang nail would he stop that too. He can only stop play for a head injury.The mere fact he didn't even give the guy a straight red for that violent conduct foul, stopping a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity. Says it all about how utterly incompetent the ref was.

You can stop for injuries other than head injuries. He definitely blew the whistle too soon though since green had a good opportunity. As for the professional foul that resulted in a yellow, I believe that was correct. There was still a defender between him and the goal keeper, so its not an automatic red. He clearly had a good chance and an open player on the wing, but that rule is thoroughly written out and not able to be bent.

Ref has the decision, but as the injury was clearly not life threatening and he didn't appear to be in severe pain, he probably should have waited a few more seconds to see if green had an opportunity, which they did.

Neither the ref nor the linesman points at the box to indicated a goal-kick. So, when 9 finally looks, it could well be one of those goal-keepers who prefers to kick from the ground. Incorrect, but understandable.

Not tht big if you understand the game plus keepers are always getting congrats probably more so than any from his teammates

@@CapuletLeGrand I thought it was very well refereed. He managed the game well, stayed out of the way of the ball. Maybe had 1 slip up where he stopped play for an injury that wasnt a head injury but other then that it was well refereed.

@@holmj12 Then I disagree very much. When a ref starts thinking in terms like that, they are on the road to being biased (if not there already). Even more: if the players get a "read" on this (and they will), they'll start using it. For example, they might start feigning injuries, etc, it order to disrupt an opponent's attack. And there already enough of this nonsense in soccer.

If it was a tie or one goal game late, the referee allows play to continue. This call had little to no affect on the outcome of the game

Correct, but you can also apply common sense to certain situations. The referee knew green team was going to win (up 2-0 late in the second half) so he decided to throw white a bone since the "turf monster" tripped him

@@holmj12 That is house league. You never assume one team is going to win or has and advantage etc. What if they needed goal diff to factor in for a playoff birth as an example. Never compromise the integrity of the game.

@@cforte0423 that decision did not compromise the integrity of the game. The experienced referee took a calculated risk with a very high degree of certainty and it unsurprisingly paid off.

@@cforte0423 the video clear states "loser gets relagated" nothing about goal differential" so you can't use that argument in the context of what I was saying. Obviously a good referee will have done their homework know if goal differential is a factor.

@@cforte0423 "never assume" using a universal statement is a poor argument that can easily be disproven. If it's 10 to 0 with less than 10 minutes left you can with a high degree of certainty assume a winner. Even with a 2 to 0 lead you can do that.

no this is actually an Ontario Soccer League team based out of Richmond Hill but occasionally feature players from Ryerson University

This is considered provincial level soccer (highest level of amateur soccer), All of the teams are based in and around Toronto. Mixture of youth / experience / ethnic teams. There are some very good players but the quality of play is diluted as most of the top young players are in League 1 Ontario which is, predominantly, a development / feeder league for the Canadian Premier League. Also remember - this game was played about 2-3 months after the regular season had ended so it's no surprise the fitness / intensity / quality wasn't at the same level
