I agree that this was a massive unfortunate blow to the ND O-Line and it feeds directly into the strength of A&M. Irish will have to pull out all the stops to win in College Station.
Hate to say it but I know where Blake was going with his criticality of Marcus Freeman and I have to agree. I want the man to succeed and have an incredible career at ND, but so far each season under MF has had at least one big disappointing loss. Now he’s being embarrassed on the recruiting trail a little bit and failing to hold onto recruits. I think Freeman has the right pieces in place in terms of coaching but he really needs to put together some big wins. The Jagusah injury is brutal. Not MF fault, but if we lose week one against A&M, it could set us up for a total waste of an easy schedule. Finishing this year 10-2 or 9-3 will be a major disappointment because it’ll mean we lost to every team even remotely talented on our schedule. Freeman’s seat could start to heat up at the end of this season if we underachieve.
Why we talking like ND had somehow magically became a powerhouse. Then we are acting like TAMU isn't full of talented dudes. New actually upgraded coaching staff, home field advantage and Connor Weigman is by far better than ND's QB1. I'm definitely picking TAMU over ND for many reasons. Good Luck to them though.
Who is talking in this manner? Also you lost pretty much all of your competitive games last year. Weigman never even played a full season of college ball. Let’s play the game and see.
ND will be lucky 🍀 to walk out of Kyle Field with a W. Much less a 7-3 point game. Ags will be favored. TAMU is being slept on. They had the #1 rush D in the SEC last season and #3 overall. They will be substantially better this year.
CJ in reality should have been a guard. Amil Wagner should be LT. He has tools and speed, but still a little light in the pants. Now tosh baker could start LT. He is massive dude at 6'7" but, not real athletic. Tosh was 2nd string in 2021 after 5star Blake Fisher went down in opener against FSU. Eventually as that season went on they chose 4th string Joe Alt as starter. If you going to lose CJ this is the time where the coaching staff has all of fall camp to figure it out. Mike Denbrock the new OC might just have to find some creative ways to scheme around it at Texas AM. Ultimately it is ND's defense that needs to be great in opener. They need all American CB Morrison ready for the opener!

@@jyrionbell848 A&M does not have a top 3 defense in the nation. A&M doesn't even have a top 5 defense in the SEC. Their DL is good, but other than that it's alright. Their defense is not as good as ND's

Who says ND is a top 3 defense? Maybe top 3 out of all the weakest conferences that doesn't include SEC or even BIG10. TAMU OL is bigger and better than ND's DL and TAMU DL is the same vs ND's OL. Don't take my word for it. When teams release the roster for the game, look at them. ND will never be on the level of SEC teams as far as overall talent, they get players here and there but the SEC recruits the best, hits portal well and has NIL that typically can compete with anyone. ND has too much focus on its academic standards to compete for a CFP National Championship. But school itself still has our respect, team doesn't suck it's just in a different tier than the top SEC programs, which is growing in numbers of who that is.
I hate to see any of the guys hurt. I don’t want any excuses if the Ags win. It’s going to be a great game. Probably decided by turnovers and special teams as they both have elite defenses.
