Eric's showing a healthy level of restraint. So easy to accidentally lead Rick in a particular direction. I for one will enjoy following Rick puzzling everything out.

To me flashbacks only suck if it's something that's already been shown. Like, someone has an important conversation and then a few minutes later it shows the exact same thing, as if the audience couldn't possibly guess what the character is thinking otherwise. When a show or movie does that it's just... wwhhyyyyy. Lost for me did the perfect flashback -- it was probably the main hooking factor (other than the realistic feel and acting right off the bat). You see the characters first and are allowed to get your first impression of them, and then you learn more about them by seeing what happened in their past, and it just really was very well done.
I don't think any show ever has had me on more edge of my seat, trying to figure out all the mysteries alone and with friends than Lost. God I love this show, even with all of its problems.
Just a note on Shannon's translation: "Il les a tué tous" can be translated as "It killed them all" but it can also be translated as "He killed them all." ...to add some ambiguity to the mystery of the French message...

I have never watched Lost. I tend to binge TV shows, but when you revealed you were going to do this show I decided to do it along with you guys. I'm loving taking my time with it, and I look forward to whenever you release a new episode because that means I get to watch another one as well. Keep up the great work! Love your reactions.

Such a fantastic show. I know a lot of folks hated the ending, but nowadays people seem to hate the endings of every popular show. Likely because it wasn’t the way they wanted it to end. But I, for one, enjoyed the entire ride. And I still hear people quoting characters like Sawyer, Hurley, and Locke today - almost 20 years later. Anyway, hope Rick ends up enjoying it.

He did great guiding Calvin through game of thrones and that was 3-4 years ago. He 100% knows how to lead someone through a show without spoiling it for them
i see a lot of you are pointing out GOT, but Eric didn´t know the ending of that series, he was way a head yes, but even he couldn´t imagine the finale, this is different, i´m just hoping that he will not spoil something out of excitement like looking at Ricks face every time something important happens, even if Rick does not see it.
I would argue best ensemble cast, but yeah this show has an amazing cast. almost every single main actor ended up doing something huge because of this show. Props to the casting director on this one!
Terry O'Quinn has been in a ton of stuff. Tombstone, American Outlaws, Young Guns, The Cutting Edge. He was in Alias and The West Wing. I don't think he was in The Hunt for Red October.
@@jxm8284 nope, they thrived on keeping people coming back to figure out the mysteries hence they kept adding more as while some characters were loved and others loathed people kept coming back to see if their theories were correct or if their friends were instead lol. The characters were great but often felt like just pawns on a game board as everything going on around them was far bigger than any character.
There is also a Bermuda Triangle in the pacific called the Devil’s Triangle, where 9 ships have vanished in perfect weather including the a 1955 Japanese ship called the Shinyo Maru No. 10. The area is known by some as the Dragon’s Triangle in the Devil’s Sea. It spans an area 200 miles east to west and 300 miles north to south… from the coast just near Tokyo heading east and then south to the Izu Islands. We know now that underwater volcanic activity and methane probably took it’s toll on a few ships. I’m absolutely sure that the writers knew and hinted at the Triangle in the pacific as it tied into any paranormal activity theory for the show.
I’m going to enjoy Tigris rewatch so much w you two, in the first one Eric says he’s tearing up just by seeing faces and I feel you so much but nothing compares for me to hearing the life and death theme by MG

When locke’s teaching Walt backgammon, he holds up a black and white piece… and when The MIB in locke’s body gets to the cave with Sawyer in s6, he throws a white rock…😮 ik it’s about good and evil and whatnot, not backgammon but I just never noticed the detail…
yep, Jack was going to be played by Michael Keaton and killed off in the first episode to show that "anything could happen" on the show, and Kate was going to be the "leader" of the group. ABC made them change it because they felt if you killed the main character in the first episode, the audience would never trust the show.
I remember in the book "Prince Caspian," they end up eating a bear, and mention how, based on the seaon and the food it had access to, it would have tasted better if killed and eaten at a different time of year.
Even though this show is still dated for now. I still love the mystery and acting in it. It was the first show I was ever really intrigued in. That and Smallville and 24 at the time.
There are no more undiscovered islands thanks to satellites. There might be rocks sticking up out of the water that have never been see, but those aren't considered islands.

I have a feeling it's a 6 degrees of separation thing - he was in Ghosts of Mississippi and Alec Baldwin was in that too. As a side, Terry had parts in Star Trek Next Gen and X-files so maybe it's simply a "I've seen this actor before".

damn imagine Hurley as Sawyer lul. I also watch the Full lenght but i watch it on Amazon and its kinda weird, because it goes off sync all the time... if i sync it perfectly in like a few seconds the amazon version is ahead of the sound from full length... kinda feels like the Amazon version is faster...
Jorge never "really" auditioned for Sawyer. He read with lines they wrote for Sawyer, because they literally didn't have anything written for Hurley, because they were in a rush and Hurley was supposed to be killed off.
Terry O’Quinn was in Silver Bullet with Gary Busey and Corey Haim. He was also in Young Guns with Keifer, Emilio and Blue Diamond Phillips. He died in both; a werewolf beat him to death with a baseball bat and he was shot in slo-mo by a Gatling gun. Add gunshot wound to the abdomen death scene to his resume with Hawaii 5-0. He dies, like…. A LOT Shhhh, don’t tell Jared Leto that he has competition. Imagine being in my head 😂🤪 with this useless knowledge floating around up there.
The Lost creators wanted to cast Michael Keaton as Jack, promote the show around him, kill him off in the first episode, then make Kate the lead character. Of course, the ABC execs balked at that idea, but anytime I think about their original plan, I can't help but think about how HBO would later promote Game of Thrones around Sean Bean before it aired, then killed him off in the first season. It's not quite the same, but it's about as close a case of that idea coming to fruition as I can think. As much as I would be interested to see a TV show actually kill off the presumed lead character in the first episode someday, I do think audiences probably would stop watching the show immediately. Perhaps the ABC execs who convinced Abrams and Lindeloff were correct in their belief that it would only hurt the show.

jin was having other people be his and suns food taster in case the fish was poisonous before he would let himself or his wife have any. which is why he freaked out a little when claire was acting weird immediatley after having eaten the fish. I thought they explained this in the episode but maybe I'm misremembering
You're definitely misremembering. That has never been suggested at any time. And, in any case, he's a fisherman's son...he already knows which fish are okay to eat.
since you took the time to reply to a three year old comment, I'll take the time too :) I rewatched Lost sometime after this comment and you're right, I interpreted it that way because when Jin first put the sea urchin on the tray, he slapped Sun's hand away and went to give some to Hurley (who refused) and then to Claire. Since there was never an explanation for why he wouldn't let his wife have some first (except to make the audience think he was a huge turd, - very intentionally at this point), I felt the whole thing was suspicious and came up with this poison test interpretation. But if one translates the things he says in Korean, he basically just tells Hurley and Claire that there is enough for everybody and especially Claire should eat (bacause she was pregnant). totally harmless, but I only much later had this translated

My theory has always been that all of Jin's uptight behaviour early on is due to his interaction in the airport bathroom with the guy who works for Sun's dad (who has been following them). For all Jin knows, one of Paik's men could have survived the crash and still be watching both him and Sun (this would completely explain his OTT reaction to the watch/Michael, for example). When he slapped Sun's hand away from the food, I thought it might be some cultural thing where you have to feed others before yourself...and if he thinks he's being watched, then he will be behaving impeccably (socially) out of fear. Just my take on it...and thanks for replying!
