Lost and Sold: A Family Affair 

For a while, I had gone there every Tuesday for a few months, never seen this guy or his wife at the helm of the auction - the auctioneers seem nice, however, it is like the wild west in auction houses here in Toronto as there isn't a governing body in place to set and enforce rules, these guys make their own rules and the heck with you if you have a problem. I've spent a few thousand at this place and was basically told to go sit and rotate when I found out that alot of what I bought was fake

I'm posting this from my personal account because I'm not an anonymous troll - first of all, I've reported this "auction house" to the RCMP - they time and time again, knowingly sell counterfeit goods (software, video games, sd cards, headphones, watches, etc...) canadian law dictates that ignorance of the law and saying that they "didn't know that the item was counterfeit" is not an excuse, the oneness is on the seller to make sure that the item(s) are sold in accordance to canadian law

Synopsis: don't buy anything sealed where you cannot see its contents, there is no official body to ensure that the owners or wholesalers whom these people sell for don't tamper with bags or crates before the public enters their domain - do not buy xbox or playstation games, brand name bags, etc.. Most of the crap I bought doesn't work, garbage. If it is a popular item, do not buy unless you open the box and test it, or look very closely they use excuses not to let you"its for resale blah"gdlck!

I watched the first episode by accident, and my impression, first, as a professional media producer wss that slice must be desperate, copying the format verbatim from other more successfully shows, namely, the storage wars series - however, in storage wars, the auctioneers themselves are very humble, and though they themselves are the center of the shoe, don't say anything greedy, egotistical, nor do they seek the spotlight, which is a stark contrast to "lost and sold" -

I could actually see this show hurting business - do you want to give business to a man who, (I believe some of the first words in his self intro on the show I saw) says: "my goal is to *pry every dollar* out of their wallet before they leave" good luck with that one! In the times I've been there, never seen the "owner" describing the items, always a heavy guy whom I've never seen on the show, go figure - they act like they believe they're wealthy lol "gonna peddle this crap straight to the top"

And for the sake of full disclosure, I HAVE gotten a few good deals, however, my experience of purchasing counterfeit items then insulted by their self serving policies and lack of proper customer service (its your own fault, you had time to look at the items before buying" - oh yes, I could look, but not open or test the fake chinese 32gb class 10 sd cards (that turned out to be >2gb) until I got home and had to purchase testing software after using the faulty cards(1 example of 9+&$1000+wasted
