Exactly but Im playin Palia open beta bc its a lot more chill and cozy than the stressful nightmare Lost Ark became very early on and I put 4500 hrs in it doing all random things n reading dialogue to do more than just raid.

Hey Sywo, hope everything is going okay with your soon to be born baby. Thank you for your content, one of the few lost ark content creators that made me play the game and that i still respect to this day, even if you don't play that much anymore.
Unless they get rid of the pheon tax on things like accessories, there is no reason to come back. It's just a P2W tax on players trying to gear. It is impossible to get accessories for your build without buying from the market. Every tier has it's own set of accessories and they get more and more expensive the higher you get, so the more you'll have to swipe to get the pheons required to buy the accessories you need. New players, caveat emptor. Editing to add. I'd be happy with buying things like Crystalline Aura, pets, mounts, skins, etc. Pheons are just plain predatory.
I'll be back when the solo raids come. I don't want to memorize a 43 minute video or buy a bus to learn the new raids. I'll do it at my own pace without pissing off a bunch of other people or wasting their time
the fresh server is only for people who struggle with gatekeeping because they have low roster lv and so are afraid to return/start because of this. even if people will benefit from big catch up mech, it will be ruled by whales or no lifers so... it's still a good idea mainly because there will not be the bot issue and a little feeling of fresh start which is always nice. on the other hand the massive QoL and legion rework incoming are far more important for the game future and all great news.

@@l2FARl I'm pretty sure you follow KR content so you would know that we are at the same ilvl as KR now and they are still about 1,5 years ahead in content. Which means catching up is easier than ever, expecially with all the free stuff we get in the west. I know not only one but 2 people that only play 1 character and still are able to keep up with everything, one of them even went 1590 before akkan released(not the brightest idea ofc but whatever floats your boat). I joined a no title akkan party the other day and we literally 1-shot every gate while my friend went into a 10x title party and wiped 2 hours. Sure having the title is an advantage but no guarantee whatsoever. And yeah, if you take a break for a few months or so from the game it's absolutley expected that you get your raid experience with people that are learning too instead of being the 1 new guy in party of 7 experienced guys. That said, many parties take 1-2 newbs in all the time.

Pp who left 4 months ago befor kay and are f2p are not even close to akkan normal with free stuff we have (1540-1580 is till a big gap even with 40% less honing gold and not lvl3 eq - pushing my 5 alt to 1580 making me crazy). About title, sure thats why we call those pp Phantom/Plague Legion Customers XD Its not 100% that title holder will not be pepega but still less prob than without and its 1 thing pp checking in lobby. "Many parties take 1-2 newbs" i dont think so (im not taking) and with more times go there will be less such charitable pp. About catching up - now its the best time to do so, still 1590 ilvl without 4 parts of kay is sus, not taking such char to my pt.
Gatekeeping is still the big issue here. You can give me all the passes you want, I will still have to get into Brelshaza with 1490 characters, who will find no party. I have 3000+ hours in the game, have tun that raid G1-G4 dozens of times, but my alt won't get a group because I lack 10 cards, or an engraving or a stupid title or 50 roster lvl because I couldnt bother with horizontal content. None of which show my skill in the raid, but I can't go on either way. Until they fix this fundamental flaw, there is no way to get new players especially to stay in the game.
I came back to the game after months and tried to find a party at 1490 like you said for Brel normal 1-2…it’s impossible,then I tried to start a learning party in the hopes that I would find other like minded players…still impossible lol. People aren’t willing to wait 1hr plus waiting for a stupid group to form on top of having to pray for a support to join.
So far, daily changes and other qol made me come back to the game. Some raids became easier so less stressful. Overall, game is becoming better and better. Looking at KR and recent Gol D River stream, it is gonna get even better. The new server, in my point of view, gonna be a troll if they are just a straight up fresh server. If they work like BDO season or Maplestory burning world, it would be good.
Let's be honest, if anyone is going to buy gold on those fresh servers is just mental at this point. About Chaos Dungs, they said they are still going to change them more and more after collecting data. What they have to do, is getting rid of wipe mechanics. I love Akkan simply because more people are dying to normal attacks than to mechs. There are some mechs that wipes the raid, but they are so simple to NOT fail them it just doesn't metter. And IMO all raids should be like this.
Btw fate ember starts dropping from punikka. And the boost to 1580 is no really to 1580 in gives u stuff up to 1580 but that will not quarantee you reach 1580 heck even 1540 u still need to farm mats for a bit., to much miss information
As a new player, I kinda quit after finishing the campaign after realizing I'm forced to do raids to progress further. If they really want to bring in new players and retain them, they need to make raids non-mandatory. They should really add other ways to progress gear.
@@bevmusic2750 i think the bigger problem is the difficulty of the raids to progress, i had friends quit because or it was too hard or they just got kicked from groups ... i think it is good that some gear is locked behind raids, the thing i don't like is that the "casual" gamer is stuck at that point cause there is no other way to upgrade from there on... so basically for that person that's the end game.
@@warpy1918 The raids arent that difficult tbh. People are just forced to watch a mechanics guide, because any other game allows to faceroll. If the raids were anything less then they are right now, it would just feel like more guardian raids, which would be a very awful feeling.
I just saw this fresh start stuff, I quit a long time ago after hitting endgame. it was just terrible failing to hone on non endgame gear and so much other things. I hope the game improves.
Nice to see that Smilegate RPG is making improvements. Been burning out since launch and have accepted that I will fall behind. I hope that Lost Ark cleans up the bad systems one day. Thank you for looking out for the playerbase, Sywo.
They made 0 improvements here, gate keeping is still a thing and nobody is going to start a new server and lose all their cosmetics etc Lots of pay to win exist etc

Daily guardians halved, chaos dungeons sped up and RNG fate ember reward added, and easier to access wandering merchants with Balthorr and Delain Armen cards added into rota. Then there's the talk of future changes merging Secret Map and Ghostship rewards all into Chaos Gate, dropping Vykas G1 & Brel G2/5 & making G6 Brel bi-weekly, simplifying a few raid mechs, and brainstorming a single-player version of older raids to let players learn at their own pace. If they keep that sort of stuff coming, I can see the game getting better bit by bit.

ALso I am not waiting days to be accepted in a possible legion raid as a DPS. DPS classes are worthless in this game as you won't get in without a group that you know and I have had my bard also gate kept.

The vertical systems are a reason why I quit. Not only the hard grinds from back in the day but the lack of incentive to play with friends. GW2 is my first mmo and I love that I can return after months, change my gear with a couple of gold and instantly play everything. And clearing content is only a matter of skill and not skill + a significant powercreep. I started playing with my friend. We played through the story together..all good. And at the beginning we played same amounts, but I pitied even in level 1 honing so much, that he was ahead and could play the next contents while I had to grind out for 2 more days. I finally caught up and my playtime was a bit higher than his. We went through tier 2 honing quite similarly but then I became always 10-20 ilvls above him. And all these events and powerpasses, etc. made us play and play and not miss a single thing. He eventually gave up on exactly that fact, came back for a short period and we found NOTHING to play together anymore. Glavier came out, I played it to 1320, brought my main to 1370 and levelled 2 more characters to the parking spot. And then tripods, books, gems, gear numbers, all broke me during that. I didnt know what to keep and how to achieve the stuff. How to do all these books stuff in relation to stuff from the armor...it was complicated. I havent touched it ever since, would like to do the combat again but now all my classes are different, etc. It feels like its a ln epically dumb idea to come back. Crazy, because even just for the horizontal content...damn its overwhelming. My bags are full of shit and I dont want to have anything to do with buying/selling at the marketplace....another chore to keep up with. I dont want my job in business to continue at home. I hate economies...
I love this game, I just finally hit 1540 on my main and I have one alt that I used the express on that is at 1530, I love raiding, but I’ve only raided Brel 1-2, and clown only once, I have the item level and know I can run a full Brel 1-6 it just feels literally impossible to find a group who are willing to learn any sort of raid. I wanna run kyangel but it just seems impossible because everyone is running these raids on 6 characters and could give a shit about helping out, it’s not their job to help, it’s just annoying when I make a lobby I have the i lvl I have the engravings I have Los 18 it should be enough right. Idk Im rambling but wanna keep playing and progressing but this new mokoko express is supposed to help new players and existing players catch up right? But the only real way for us to get the gear is to pay ridiculous prices for buses. It’s like hey your 1490 now, but you need to run Brel 1-2, you are not going to find a group willing to run with you, it’s not possible, so how do they expect the new player to catch up and learn.

why should veteran players bring toxicity? I dont see that. I gonna stay and enjoy the game on the already existing server and hope that some day, those jump start servers will be merged to the current servers when the time is necessary.
You don't get a chance at fate ember drops until you reach tier 3 which i think is 1250 ilevel. The chance of getting them is also very low to start and increases as you hone up, I assume this is to circumvent bots abusing the fate ember system.
A fresh start won't fix the toxic gatekeeping or P2W. I quit at 300 hours because of the need to play so many alts every day to keep up with the whales. I really don't see it getting many people back. Plus, there will still be plenty of bots and smurf accounts.
For me, the priority thing they should do is to do like FF or other mmos to have several ways to obtain stuff. For example on FF, there are wheels for "tokenquartz", raids at 24, raids at 8 in normal, extreme or sadistic and the craft for this stuffer. Whereas for LA you are REQUIRED to do these raids and learn the strats. This is one of the causes that made me stop the game with the bugs, technical problems and other disgusting lags (I'm nice). Lost Ark is my biggest video game disappointment in 35 years of gaming. LA inoculated me against game announcement hype.
Comparing a subscription based model MMO to Lost Ark isn't the same. Every F2P MMO has you locked out of gear without raids. The only comparison to FF would be WoW since they are based on the same model.
Making a new server is not the solution to gatekeeping. The devs have said this is the solution to older players gatekeeping raids, but that is bullshit. The core gameplay of the game makes players gatekeep.
In regards of all the changes Gold River called out amazon could have picked not a worse date to restart. I will come back, once all these changes fron the livestream are online - not a single day before.
I got a fate every other day or so on average running like 2-4 characters depending on the day. 1 10k coin a few 1.5k coins and probably like 5-10 honing chests.
Gold River said weeks ago that these changes are just a part 1 of a lot of other changes to the base game. During his last stream, he talked about all the new changes that are coming to unas, ghost ship, chaos gates, maps, etc.
Game has shit ton of bots again. Basically should've been stuck at 20k and you are at almost 36k+ Again 40-50% of population are bots... what a shitshow
Came back on soul eater release 4 days ago, but i quit when argos was the big thing, i cant get into any raids even tho i am 1490 i cant even get into valtan... (87 roster lvl) sadly gonna quit again since chaos dung and guardian raids became boring and i cant progress further without raids from 1490...
Until they revamp island rewards to scale to current tier, prob not gonna come back. A mmo should really encourage world exploration as well instead of raids and dailies being the only main gameplay
This game would be great if they didn't implemented so many systems on top of each other, that's the reason I quit. The sheer amount of popups and panels and useless loot and unknown objects always filling my inventory was overwhelming. Just make the game simple and not gated to casual players, remove the daily boring and mandatory tasks and probably a lot of people will come back.
Ah, pheons. a currency that prevents me from enjoying the game to an extent I want. I love customizing characters. I can sit for hours in character creator and even after creating one I'd spent hours more on customization in the next 24 hours of free 'reskin' time. And I don't understand why pheons are needed for buying a skin. They aren't needed for a skinboxes and maze skins, but they are being deducted for buying a piece. Or why there's still no barbershop? They obviously not making much money from the 'reskin' ticket because it's to expensive. Add barbershop with 'blue crystal' cost for customization. I''m even okay with 100 default crystals per customization. And I'm pretty sure overall people will spent more on it than on those over pricey "reskin' tickets. The game is fun, but man, developers creating the problems and then selling the solution. It's predatory as fuck.
As a player that wanted to try the game in fresh servers after watching multiple LA streams of streams just buying gold, gatekeeping others and doing same shit on different alts over and over I don't want to play this game anymore lol. Back in the day people used to say that Lineage is a game for these who's wallet can afford to buy fun and I feel like Lost Ark is just a new generation of that, people just whale for gear and have fun or play 100 alts as a second job.
yea i quit the game like 6-7 months ago (btw im the one who donated you the 2 lv 10 gems for ur destroyer xd ) and tbh idk, lately i really started to miss lost ark for some unknown reason. let me tell you this im having fun again. i really really love the game from the bottom of my heart. but then its starting to get back to me why i quit the game which is the toxicity of the community and the notorious gate keeping, my god its a horrible experience. but something changed in me, i feel like i can stay strong this time and come thro with this kind of behavior. statcis are so fragile, 90% of the guilds that iv being in the past fall apart after 2 days or simply once u get invited in. you starting to understand that you actually got invited to a grave yard. Or - i found out that some of the guilds that iv joined are already built with a statics -.-. trying to get into the white house is an easier task then get a spot in those statics (leaders dont usually care about new comers just donate your silver/gold to the guild and fuk off) after saying all that im determine to succussed in the game and nothing will break me (i hope) PS..the p2w is indeed a huge factor as you have said :( but oh well come back to stream @Sywo we miss you :(
for me the biggest issue is the gatekeep, the mecs are punitive at the point of players doing it wrong there is a whole wipe, therefore, players who are returning, new players who are starting fresh have a hard time with the game, player make parties with only 1500+ for Valtan, expect 5 engravings and LoS 30 if they really change to solo content from Valtan to kakul saydon (hopefully Brelshaza) maybe it will help some players to get entry gear, but they will be stuck at 1490 with no party for Brelshaza normal, since players will still be looking for others with 1520+ they also should implement a system to roll 1 engraving out of the accessory you drop for example you drop an accessory with perfect combat status and 1 correct engraving you roll the second engraving, but afterwards you can't sell it, there are several ways to make the game great, it's just matter of them wanting.
Sorry mate, new meta for alts is 1540, dont have hope in being carried if you are not support or dont have gigachad friends XD For 1490 DPS: 1 - you can buy bus, then hone to 1500 and get in 1500 pt or 2 - as said get gigachad friend :P

You have to buy ff14 and its expansions then you have to sub every month, obviously this doesnt include the free trial but if i spend that money in lost ark i would be max level with max items.

Too many games to play and the main crux I have the with the game isnt resolved. I never liked being walled off from progression because I didnt play the economy game well or didnt fork out real money. Its sucha shame, the gameplay is fun af.

Those new servers are but a scam to squeeze a lot of quick money from whales. I mean, seriously, anyone whose played the game long enough knows on the spot that what they are giving you to start fresh (from 0 with everything it means in term of horizontal progression (imagine doing island souls again and mokokos and omnium stars or CARDS, omg...)) is not even the shadow of a beginning of a backbone of a roster. A single express ticket to 1540-80 and, maybe (we are not even sure but probably), two North Vern progressed alts, what are you going to progress with that ? The progress is going to hit a massive wall real quick and real hard and stall the players for months because of the grind required past 1580 so imagine doing that on fresh new servers with absolutely no economy at the auction house, it's insane. UNLESS, you pay your way out to a complete roster. And to get there, you're going to need to spend A LOT of money and I think that's exactly what they are looking for. Also, no bots, com'on, let's be serious, they could never fight bots in the first place and they only died from attrition because of the population going near extinction. If there is people in numbers trying those fresh servers, there will be bots in massive quantity to fill the equal massive demand for gold so people can build a 6+ characters roster they can actually grind with. Also, Pheons. Nothing to add, the joke unravels itself.

While i personally dont expect to be playing on those servers, it sounds like a pretty nice way for new players to get to learn raids for the regular servers as i assume there shouldnt be that much gate keeping there atleast not at the start.
Nah Lost Ark is a mess still. Tons of gate-keeping (cuz people don't want to waste time cuz of 1-mistake-wipe mechanics), elitist kicks( cuz people have dps meters) and quitting parties when they can't do the content, they just give up. Some literally quit the game then and there. And the game has only 1 way to progress: Raids. So people that can't do it, just quit. It ain't worth the time imo.
What if i want to play whatever i like, not everyday playing. And new raids come, then i become out of content. Cant keep up cause learning group not exist. Most of the time into the game and being in waiting lobby. Such a huge disappointed for this.
I have no Idea what im doing in this game. I have a lvl 1415 healer not sure what her name is. Should i start from the new server and will it show me how to pay the game again? I really wanna play this game again but when i came back I have no Idea how to lvl past 1415 no one that low and no one doing that low of dungeons. I dont know what to do lol.
in my opinion many devs make the same mistake they force you to play the story .give players the freedom to level how they want to no quest gates no annoying repeating the same boring story .the honing in lost ark is so plain stupid as long as they have that crap i will never go back.
You know Lost Ark could have been a really great arpg mmorpg but that whole gear upgrade system killed this game for me. I HATE that RNG crap system. HATE IT. They should have gone more arpg like loot system like in POE or D4. Sorry but NEVER going back to that game and into that crappy loot system.

did they fixed the vpn issues they brought on us for some1 who lives in netherland we can't play most of the game dat has gambling,loot boxes , some even for having trading is banned here either by our country or is limited from the company of producers and most of us have to use vpn to play the games and since i don't really want to spend 30 to 50 bucks per month to use an RDP i wonder if the problem is fixed for us or not
When every single item and mat becomes account-wide on every single character with the complete removal of Pheons I will go back to the game, but if this does not happen, then I am out of this job where pay to work instead of being paid.
Start updating cus it is. 1 time sending items via email to roster chars is free from pheons (then item is untredable and cant be moved from char) and most of mats chest are roster bind (tho some mats drops from CD are binded)
Ive done chaos every day on 4 characters since faith ember got added. All ive gotten is 1 drop and it was card xp. Maybe im just very very unlucky but I dont see the hype for this feature.

I will not come back til pheons are gone or given as rewards in a higher amount, or just removed the need to have 8 characters, no one who plays mmos splits focus through 8 or more characters, unless they have done everything possible on their main.
New separate servers are only hope for new mokoko players with lvl 1 roster, aint no way they will have fun on normal servers. kekw. Tho how many of "new players" there can be and for oldtimers thers to much grinded done already to start it again from 0.
Let's presume that solid part of the new players of old server quit the game somewhere on ~70-80 roster level and deep dive/lwc 12, for example. Starting over again on servers where you won't be gatekept and will be progressiving with others +/- evenly is not that bad idea for them. But yeah, the question of how big player base will be remains.

To be honest, good improvement on guardian but answering your question.. no not at all, this was supposed to be the band aid fix… chaos dungeons x2 is still heavy across a roster of 6+ characters and what’s been dragging a lot on my side is this F una’s tasks that should just get reworked at this point. The other thing is weekly gold earning and yea 18 raids it’s just too much that’s why daily activities and horizontal content are harder to keep up for players.. Reducing gates it’s another band aid.. Lastly the alt system also needs overhauling like making the honing achieved roster wide or discounted with research based on item level of main character or something like that..

remove wipe mechanics put it in hell mode for hardcore players this should at least reduce gatekeeping and nerfing raid gold won't help anyone it only encourage RMT
Honing past 1500 I fail every hone till I meet max threshold and get 100 percent guarantee (25,000 gold for one lvl in gear plus mates is stupid). Sorry game still sucks with this. After all the failing I just feel sick to my stomach.
i lost interest after i read everyone will be getting a south vern pass. but honestly even if it was from 0, i couldnt be bothered to farm all islands, hearts etc all over again
i dont see how fresh servers are going to fix anything... still gate keeping, still bussing, NO market for the first month at least maybe more since not allot of players will be starting over, and if they do, only stay for what 1540?? then leave?. now you have a ''new'' server with dropped older players going back to their mains, and the so called new players left in the dark, again with NO market, and toxic kids gatekeeping and bussing only. sounds fun right??? for the first 2 months MAX.....need a complete system over haul to support a new start server.. lock the market to a max gold limit, say 50k on all/any item listing, half or 1/3 the cost of pheons for new players, then when tthey reach a set time/ilvl they automaticly get sent to the legacy server to stop or prevent toxic situations... i dunno jsut thinks i came up off the top of my head, im sure the GAME designer can think of something that would work ~ you'd hope
I gave up with lost ark due to toxic groups, you can't get in any multiplayer content unless you go random (usually horrible) or have done it 1,000 times and are way way way overpowered

Because most people don’t want to play 2000 characters to stay competitive they want to play 1 character, make it theirs and invest time and effort in that one singular character without losing out to die hard no lifers which play 20-30 characters. So yeah nobody will come 100% and most people will leave.
I left after they released brel and got her done on my 3 chars. That was ages ago. Blows my mind that they were so slow with the changes! Whats the playercount now 20k? Thats pathetic.Not a chance that people wil lcome back. I loved LA at the time, but way too flawed game.
Soooo i farmed all kind of content to get all skill points and achievments and ofc real money for extra char slots and costumes .... and now they slap me in the face with fresh start servers. I already have 18 char made with normal progression system and not gonna whine cause of all the useless time i put into them cause it was FUN. But this kinda pisses me off, AWESOME that you have thought about getting new ppl in the game....what about us? Compensation for all the work i put in a game i like? Last pass rng slaped me in the face and i couldnt get over 1502 and was stuck with a half ased char that has to get bused threw everything...cant say thats fun.
this is they're idea? no one that has 2 brain cells isn't gonna start from scratch after investing 2k+ hours this game has became a joke and amazon have proved once again that they have no idea about gaming at all..
Hi! I'm a newb here with 1.4k hrs of gameplay who stopped playing for the 2nd time 4 mos ago (I think?). Lost Ark is an awesome game but eventually it made me realize that it's intended for hardcore players. It can also be a beautiful side game but it turns into a full time mmorpg when u start playing alts. Playing alts sadly ruins the immersion. Like you don't really feel that "special" or unique playing a class coz u know everyone probably has one in their roster. Dont get me wrong, I loved Lost Ark and I spent $$ on it coz of some cool cosmetics. It does have the potential to be a foundation of a brand new next-level ARPG in the future.
