Nahiri: Gets killed, dismembered, compleated and falls to her apparent death with the entire skyclave crashing around her. Nahiri in Aftermath: I GOT BETTER.
@@SuperDuperHappyTime little do they know that the opening credits explained how the whole multiverse was alerted about her coming, and the sliver/eldrazi menace that is on the front.
Nahiri should have been left dead. Honestly, a lot of them should have been left dead. We need to move the story along and with so many Walkers surviving, it cheapens the future threats. N
Great Nahiri is back at it again to destroy planes. This couldn't end sooner. I don't know how she survived but I couldn't be more disappointed that she did. She'll never answer for her crimes since Wizards doesn't believe in consequences
So...literally ALL phyrexians in multiverse, including multiple walkers, were frozen in action because they lost their wifi signal...but Nahiri, Jace, and Vraska are somehow able to move?
Well, they do have souls and minds that were too valuable to destroy. They were more than drones, just as the praetors and the other phyrexians Norn ordered destroyed were.
I liked this one for the fact that it set up an apparent deus ex machina (the suddenly glowing halo and charging up of Linvala) that actually *does* get explained in later stories when we learn about the Capenna archangels spreading out and spreading Halo.
@@AetherHub it didn't though. That's a lie. The bad writing is bad. Why is nahiri immune to the lost phyrexian wifi signal? When ajani and nissa weren't? Jace I can understand maybe. Vraska got by Jace. And moon mommy is stupid but explained. But not nahiri
@@liberalistbat6352 I thought Anjani and Nissa were 'immune' and that's why they had to be sealed. All the completed walkers had traits that were too valuable to destroy by reducing them to mere drones; so they retain minds and souls. Also, where here did it actually say she wasn't effected by the lost signal?
Thanks for covering this, Seiben! I hope I wasn't/we weren't too nagging about this story! Very interested to see what happens with Nahiri in Aftermath, given the box art.
oh not at all! I wanted to cover EVERYTHING and was glad i could circle back to this. I'm glad people like you kept on me! This story has Aftermath potential so it NEEDS to be covered.
@@AetherHub Yeah, when I read it I really wasn't sure what they wanted us to take away from it. Like, they say "Nahiri is stubborn as stone" as if to say she is probably not dead, but then they also have the troops fall into disarray. It was the most unclear one to me. The question is now, is the box art for aftermath misleading, or will we somehow get her back and cured?
@@henryterhune8328 I'm thinking that since she's a lithomancer, she may have merged herself into the ground again as a part of surviving the fall, and in doing so, separating the phyrexian of herself into a section of zendicar, so that yeah... she cleansed herself when she brought herself back out of the ground.
In my case Lilli is under, but yeah those walkers lorewise, powerwise and personalitywise are miles ahead of those that were added postgatewatch, it was great when everyone started dirtying their pants when they learned that she was phyrexianized, well she was fighting head to head with Sorin so there is that. As much as we know what happened to Lukka and Tamiyo, I wonder how they will deal with other compleated planeswalkers cause Jace and Nahiri are kinda huge characters in the story.
Potential Aftermath spoiler Nahiri is on the packaging art, alongside Nissa. It seems as though Nahiri might have also been cured of her Phyresis and also has human arms again. Though like Nissa, her character model does still retain some evidence of their former compleation. Nissa has copper filagree on her chest, and Nahiri retained the glowing red tattoos.
Imagine you die, your limbs are replaced, you get brainwashed by infecting oil and then you just walk it off and the only downside is you get to keep cool tattoos.
Coming back to the lore after war of the spark mirrodin was my first set ever and it hurts to see what I consider to be my “home” gone and dead and the walkers I loved gone now too
It really does hurt. My first plane was Zendikar, but when I discovered Mirrodin I fell in love with the designs. I imagine it hurts much worse for someone who Mirrodin was their first Plane
@@mathewsmith8031 Thank you, I agree. Ravnica would be a terrible loss to the whole series. From the sounds of it, the only major loss Ravnica had was the Compleation of most of the Golgari, and of course the loss of the beloved Vraska.
Givin the countless wars going on and trillions becoming complete makes you wonder. Where is ugin during all this. now that one of his closest friends is completed
I wonder if Nahiri was cured by the halo and planeswalked away for one reason or another. Guilt and shame are the reasons that come to mind first. But that's a guess from someone who's still needs to read more lore on and catch up on the _March of Machines_ storyline.
since New Phyrexia is now phased out of existence, thus none of the phyrexian forces on the other planes can "hear" the commands that new phyrexia is supposed to give and become deactivated, does that mean that Nahiri is gonna be deactivated in that same sense?
@@liberalistbat6352 tamiyo is dead. It's just her ghostly remains that move. That's different. It's a presence she created before she got compleated in case she died. That one was explained
@@cheesy_87 How did she create it? She just wrote a story about it? Couldn't she write that she's immune to phyrexian oil? The limits of her power are really vague.
Out of all the compleated planeswalkers, Nahiri was the one I wanted gone the most and the fact that she got to walk off the attack on her home world seemingly scot-free is infuriating.
they do know that this was supposed to be the conclusion of the Phyrexian story, right? it undercuts the punch of the Invasion if they leave all these little mystery boxes laying around. (Jace & Veraska, Nahiri, the oil, etc...)
Nahiri had a good send off, perfect, given that she's the embodiment of crazy ex-girlfriend, and then this.......this....slop, shoved out and down our throats. It's disgusting! Htf they gonna just reverse everything they did?! SHE LITERALLY DIED BEFORE GETTING "COMPLEATED" She went out like a badass, and it got thrown out the window!! Idk how WotC continues to shit the bed so badly.
Is Jace going to Innistrad to win a mind battle with Emrakul cause he is perfected mind now? And is he going to free it from the moon and control it to wreak havoc across the multiverse?
Depends on how exactly the oil works. When Norn got killed, every Phyrexian stopped moving because the connection with her was severed. I'm guessing he's still Phyrexian but regains his will.
@@crappymccrappen4897 It has been retconed. The oil is now a glorified phyrexian wifi. If it is disconnected from its source, it and the phyrexians can’t do shit.
Simply becoming aware of Bolas' presence and the scope of his mind was enough to passively break Jace's. Jace's mind is equivalent to a bacterium's consciousness compared to Emrakul. There's the implication that his entire previous interaction with Emrakul was just a delusion, as she seemed like she hadn't noticed their existence at that point. So, not to poo poo, but WoTC would need to retcon a lot.
I was positive that you had already uploaded this video. I literally gave a synopsis to my girlfriend before listening again to figure out if there were any differences. The only difference that I noticed was the Raid add.
I’m curious about the back of Invasion of Ahmonket. It says that Lazotep can disconnect Phyrexians from the signal of New Phyrexia. Does that mean people can be cured?
If their minds have been suppressed, that might do something, if they've been classically completed, so act willingly for phyrexia, or if their minds were destroyed, to make them drones for Norn, then that wouldn't do a lot for them.
My favorite plane was amonkhet. Why didn't amonkhet get a story spotlight? I was looking forward to it so much, and there seemed to be a story there with the story highlight cards. Just disappointing.
Interesting Idea of the universe beyond slight involvement (or lack there of) with MOM (Head Canon): There's a possibilities that some of the roots from Realmbreaker attempted to pierce into the worlds from universal beyond, though I'm using the knowledge of the collabs done in Magic so far plus the lore of those corresponding worlds I'm knowledgeable of. Some failed to break through thanks to the fundamental laws in some worlds, either contradicting the root's puncture and severing it outright or not having the fundamental quantum synergies to keep the roots connected thus failed to finalize anchoring, resulting in some Phyrexian invasion forces being gobbled up by the blind eternities in the process of their perspective invasion of some worlds. (My Little Pony, Lord of the Rings, D&D the Forgotten Realms.) While others that successfully connected the worlds were easily repealed or the Phyrexian forces completely annihilated. (Warhammer 40k and Transformers.)
