Blown away by her lyrics that wrap the whole story with the tragedy of lost girls everywhere, and the sadness and mistakes of the poor mothers, and then the music, wow - went looking for Lucinda Williams after I saw the movie and I’m hooked on her now
Lucinda is one of the most overlooked folk singers. I've been a fan for years. She's in her 70's now and still as good as she was back then. Her lyrics are as soulful and mesmerizing as her unique raspy voice. "Sweet Side" will make you cry.
I'm an ignorant bastard who had never heard of this woman until I watched Dlly Partons Heartstrings ....and now she's got me bleeding inside out...wonderful
I love Lucinda Williams but have to say this is a disappointment musically. In the past, Lucinda always had fantastic players in her band - especially guitarists. Kenny Vaughn for a good while. Ryan Adams and Charlie Sexton both had a hand in the album Essence. Then there was Doug Pettibone in the early 2000s - a perfect guitar player for Lucinda’s music. Whoever is playing on this tune just doesn’t cut it.
@@chipsterb4946 The truly excellent songs she has written and preformed outshines any failings that an artist sometimes has to live with. We all make mistakes and l'm sure she's aware of what you say. The great blues artist B.B.King told of mistakes he made on records that the company would not let him correct. Could be true in this case. Still WoW Lucinda.
I'm from Australia, she has journeys in her voice, (Micheal Connelly quote in The Narrows) you don't listen to Lucinda unless you are ready to be taken places. Love her.
Absolutely the most unbelievable song I have ever heard. The emotion is so raw and real. Thank you Lucinda for this beautiful song. No one else could have done this like you.
Watched Lost Girls. Usually change channels when the credits roll, but as they rolled and the song started being played listened to it all the way through. Powerful lyrics, beautifully sung. Proably have listened to it at least 15 times since first hearing it.
I'm so glad I stumbled onto Lucinda all those years ago. I was reaching to turn the radio off (actually it was the computer I was playing Rhapsody in the background while I worked} and call it a night when somebody hollered at me from the other room and after I answered I felt my soul being moved by the sound coming from the speakers. Needless to say I sat up to the wee hours listening to everything I could find from this angel.
Beautiful song and tribute to those young ladies who lost their lives to that monster in Oak beach. Hope you all found the peace and love in heaven that you couldn't find here. Sleep in peace sweet angels. 💖💖💖
One of the greatest meaningfully on point songs that I've ever heard. It describes sides of the struggle that mother had in the most realistically deep manner.
What a beautiful song, it touches every feeling of my soul. Makes me reflect about my daughters my mother and sisters that I love with all my heart. I hope the pain for all the victims families will find comfort, my prayers for all of them.
That’s a deep down into your soul song that tells the story of lost girls, these girls are from broken homes and mothers left to raise their kids on their own with deadbeat fathers. I feel so sorry for Mary Gilbert. She had a tough life. May she rest in peace.
@@lucindawilliams5091 thankyou LEGEND for liking my comment it was genuine straight from my heart . I live in the UNITED KINGDOM a llooooooonnnnnngggg way from your lovely heartwarming heart❤❤❤

Just said to my daughter sounds like Lucinda Willaimas when we finished watching this movie and I was right. After years of loving her you instantly know her beautiful unique voice.
Here's the lyrics- "Lost Girl" (from "Lost Girls" soundtrack) Morning comes, it whispers in my ear Never leaves, despair is near Days go quiet and disappear And darkness knows the truth I fear God knows I've tried to stay strong I swear to God, I swear in vain Been raging and angry for so long Along with all of my pain I wanted to give you a sweet beginning But, no matter how hard I tried I found myself on the losing end Of all the trouble I can find You are missing, I am haunted You're broken but I am fearless Are you listening? 'Cause you are wanted You've spoken and I have heard La la la la, la la la la, la la la la la la La la la la, la la la la, oh In my dreams, I see you And it seems you can see me too In my dreams, I feel you And it seems you can feel me too I will search for you through the wind and the rain I may bend but I won't ever break And if it hurts forever I will live through the pain I will fall with the burden, standing in this place I'll look for you on every corner And every street I look down I will never give up hoping That one day you will be found I know I've made some bad decisions And I got so much wrong Now I need your forgiveness 'Cause I'm coming to take you home La la la la, la la la la, la la la la La la la la, la la la la, la la la la la In the shadows of a wicked world Spinning without a sound Maybe I was just another lost girl Dying to be found In this chaos of a wicked world Looking for you Maybe I was just another lost girl too In the shadows of a wicked world Spinning without a sound Maybe I was just another lost girl Dying to be found Yeah, maybe I was just another lost girl Dying to be found Maybe I was just another lost girl Dying to be found
@@mayrachanza7882 She found her already, but the daughter was murdered and the it says she filed for wrongful dead lawsuit against Peter Hackett, the so called doctor, but nowhere it says that he is charged. So yes she might have been happy to be able to take the remains of her daughter home, but there was never any closure, so if you call that happy our idea of happiness differs.
I'm blown away by your voice. Absolutely gorgeous. I was about to turn off the credits for Lost Girls movie when I thought, now, wait, what's this? Then, I had to find out who you are. Girl, your voice is amazing. Great movie too.
from Indonesia. i'm here coz i watched LOST GIRLS in hours ago. my prayers goes to those families and friends of #JusticeForMMMAS" i download this song as i simply like the way she sang and the great interpretation of story.
she gives.....sadness , her song and her voice, but song is written with love, and memorial for those, who lost their childs. And the movie......i just cry my heart out, because i lost my first child, its the saddest thing, what someone has to be feel..... but we have strong ....and we have good memories and we take them with us, till we die
Shanan Was Another Lost Girl Waiting To Be Found!!! And Thank God That Because Of Shanan The Other Girls Were Found!!! RIP Beautiful Girls!!!! You’re Know In A Better Place Were No One Ever Hurt You Again!!! Thank You 🙏 God For Their Forgiveness Of Their Sins!!! RIP
I recognize the voice cuz I had a few others by her so I had to Google it and find the song after watching the movie. Such a haunting song. Every parent's worst nightmare. 1 in 4 women are raped. That's just an alarming statistic. And most of these little girls and boys are thrown away afterwards sometimes missing forever. Excellent song, excellent movie Bravo on the acting and singing the entire production and all the artists that collaborated. Lucinda you have haunted my dreams. Brilliant
I have once made a comment about Lucinda Williams about how goofy she may sometimes look (I like it ) but behind that veil how deep her writing could point to you like a knife !
@@lucindawilliams5091 It is a big pleasure for me to get touched in facebook. It is Yiannis Karavitis with the same picture as here. Thank you, keep on going healthy. Hear you soon. . .
Its all subjective, I don't want to talk about is about love, this song is a about desperation, its grabs you by the heartstrings and drags you along. Its one of Lucinda best ,every song borrows something from another song or artist. Ask Dylan , every artist is influenced, its what they do with that influences that defines the song. With this song its story telling riddled with heartstrings emotion. Love her!
