This was wonderful, Fred. Thanks for joining in. Conway completely reminded me of my father in some aspects. I can see why he adored this book (and movie) so much. 😊 A black mug?!? 😳 - 📚MJ
Great review. I’ve heard MJ mention this, of course, but didn’t know much about it. Sounds pretty interesting. Will add this to the list of potentials.
Great review! I don't think this is the book for me, but the themes and the short length of the book is making me reconsider. I'll add it to my list, mainly because I'm curious about the mangoes. Thanks! :)
lol, I was on MJ's discord channel (please check her channel out if you've not already - great booktuber) and was going on about the mangoes, the logistics of delivery (for the 1930's), freshness, cost, etc, and wouldn't let it go! Everything was answered in Chapter 6 :)
I some how found this in high school decades ago and loved it at the time, but I don’t have much memory of it beyond the basic premise. I’m not really compelled to read it again, but it good to hear a bit more about it.
I've only heard of the one movie (which I'll need to watch) but I can definitely see it being redone throughout the decades. The message is great for a movie :)
