Great news,.I was contacted by #zerozerorobotics @zerozerorobotics after I emailed them. They have been very good in communicating and explaining, so we are talking, once I have a final reply and resolution, I will post it, thanks to everyone for caring and commenting. Also, to whom might not know, the drone nor the app have a Omni terrain button, the dron, once is ready for it, I guess after loading software and AI, engages that function, it takes some seconds, once the screen shows it, you are good to go (in theory).
The “X” in “X1 Pro Max” stands for [e]Xperimental [in Beta versión] 1 [to the utmost level.] I was considering this drone for a first person shooting documentary, but I prefer to go with an already tested DJI mini 4 pro… -MUCH BETTER…!!!
Hey, thanks for commenting They are different animals, they both serve a purpose, but differ on how they work/approach that purpose. I'm sure once the software/firmware kinks are solved, it will be a great value for what it is intended
I bought the Promax Is a few updates in firmware and also in app You have to done with When you receive the drone it's all over the RU-vid videos too , and don't fly it in the windy days, and try the first time You're using the drone, fly it in some type of open clear field for a while till you get hang of it, if it's not get updated few times and is windy.. your drone will automatically land on the ground or not flying right.. this is new drone and get updates constantly probably till end of the year ,comes to software and firmware they have a lots of issues and constantly updating it how long as I know never happened like this to anybody else
Unfortunately RTH doesn't work well and Hoverair, when sending us the drones, didn't inform us that the drones require an update which is still not available and without an update the drone doesn't work properly. The drone sometimes suddenly lands vertically by itself and we don't even have a spare propeller. What's more, you can't currently buy propellers for the drone #hoverairx1promax Drones are expensive and Hoverair ignored us.
They just shipped them, so, in good faith, I'm hoping they work the problems ASAP, as for spare parts,.I'm sure we will be able to get them from them and different vendors very soon as well.
well I fully understand, as I just got mine the beacon is so buggy and very unstable. I will never take it out with beacon and joystick it is not a ready to sell product.
Question as I don't have mine yet. Did you wait for the Omni Terrain Icon to turn on? You are in a very dark area compared to where the drone was circling from very bright to very dark where you were standing in the shadows. I ask, because this is exactly how I lost my Hover X1 to the sea gods. The Hover Pro/Pro Max has not upgraded the front camera sensors which is why they state in the fb group to first wait for the Ominterrain icon to turn on. You see...It's really NOT Omniterrain or a secret formula for it to track you in dark areas, rather it is a GNSS drone and they want you to wait for the OmniTerrain Icon to turn on, because that is when there will be enough Satellites to lock your position. That is why it takes up to 3 minutes with the drone in the same location, it needs to lock in enough satellites. So if you fly without the satelilite positioning, it will lose you every time when transitioning from light to dark areas, and of course cliffs. You Hover was literally in the worst possible conditions without GPS lock. Still sucks, and I feel your pain. ps...if OmniTerain was on, then Hover Air 100 percent owes you a new drone IMO
Thanks for commenting, Omni terrain was on, I think, just a guess looking at the footage, it gets in trouble when the sun hits directly into the sensor, to be honest, I'm more interested in what @zerozerorobotics has to say/add/teach so this doesn't happen too often to other users, cheers
Keep begging and they will keep ignoring you! Hoverair Facebook group has a lot of unhappy X1 Pro owners, especially the ones with broken props and hard to get a replacement!
Was thinking about the same... And why didn't he just connect the phone to take control over the drone... and instead just wait for it to land over the cliff... weird
This is very very disturbing, I'll feel pity for you and hope they'll solve this in an good way. I receive my Pro today but will be carefull how to fly it. Take care and fingers crossed man
Great questions, standing on a cliff edge with my dogs I rather not be staring at a smart phone and let the drone work as it is supposed to work without me overtaking some maneuver that is extremely simple and should be able to handle when Omni terrain is on, also battery was about 60%, of I paid for some features, the product has to deliver those features, it would be a totally different thing if I was pushing it beyond it's advertised capabilities or intended use. Thanks for caring
Based on your previous video you didn't even check the tutorials about the device and just guessed how things should work... If the drone crashed, how did you get the footage from it? When you saw it's not coming back to you why didn't you take over it with your phone instead of waiting for it to land? Also, why do you want them to reach out to you? What if they never see your video? You should contact them and send your logs too, I guess you have those too if you have the footage, right? And for goodness sake, it's not "Hooover" like the vacuum cleaner, it's "Hover".
Based on my previous video your comment would be on point, since it is not my previous video, and now as I mentioned on the current video, I did read the owners manual, watched the tutorials and so on, so thanks for commenting on this video with comments valid for the previous, not this one...
Did my previous video influenced on how terrible the "birds eye" video looks on this one? Please elaborate? Hahaha I'm just poking you, thanks for posting,. maybe next time is more helpful, cheers
The manual and tutorials are pretty worthless. On the website, most of the information is for the old x1. Apparently they have more information listed on their Facebook page. How are people supposed to know this? It clear this product was released prematurely.
Did You EXPLICITLY TURN ON "all terrain" setting. Without "all terrain" setting ON, the drone will get lost by all means at the edge of a steep cliff and over water ! !
What are you talking about, "OmniTerrain", i.e. GPS, is on by default, it cannot be turned on or off. You just need to wait at least 30 seconds for it to become active.
Omni terrain was active, the drone has no problem flying over the cliff, the problem was going back to LZ , it hovered many seconds over the cliff without problems, clearly Omni terrain is not issue
I stretched my hand when it was hovering in a safe place after completing the 360° orbit, after doing so, it repositioned itself out of the take off/ landing zone, it is very clear on the video. After that, when it was hovering in the cliff zone, I attempted stretching my hand a few times hoping it would come back, if you look carefully, it drops off when I stop looking at it, when I take a glimpse to see where the dogs are. I appreciate your post, but it would be amazing is @zerozerorobotics #zerozerorobotics give us their opinion, so we all can hear them and make our own informed opinions after that, cheers
Dam Neo will automatically return to the launch position, then just put hand out, and it lands. Odd the Hoverair does not do the same. Still, I am not sure most drones without the controller or GPS work well off cliffs, I would still use my Neo with the controller and use GPS active track.
@@mtbmonk7076 As far as I know we backers are not beta testers, they gave drones to them to test and look at the results. I enjoyed my X1 but am afraid to use the pro whicj I receive today :(
Yes I have, it is what it is more relevant to me, as you can see, I am very respectful and open minded about a solution and also having their feedback from the situation, thanks 👍
It's so funny the Indigogo supporters always do this just to save a little bit of money, then the very first ones get the drones through customs only for others get stopped and end up paying $100s in duty and taxes! And just like this guy, zero after sales support! No retailer support, the dam drone does not even come with any spare props! With some already breaking props, making the drone unusable until they somehow beg Zero Zero Robotics to post spares!
Shouldn't have happened but when you saw it wasn't coming back you should have taken your phone out in a hurry to try to connect and steer it back, you had the time to do it, 30 seconds actually.
Honestly I would have more sympathy if you showed us that Omni-terrain was active and this happened anyways. Right now it just looks like a skill issue.
