There is a very simple rule to never ever get lost in the casbah. Wander at ease and getting lost can be a bonus. Here is the rule: Go up, and up and horizontal to explore. When it is time to go back, just go down any stair and you end up by the sea. Now, you may need a guide to visit faster important things.

What's great about Casbah is that walking through it is like walking through real history, it belongs and was built by the Zirids since 972, and the ottomans adored it and got inspired by it.
