i remember seeing archived posts from users of the time stating they remembered her being a web idol, that had pics entered into a "make-me-pretty" thread. Either its a well thought out fake made by someone whos involved with the investigation, or it is the true source.

Yep, and even in 1998 they weren't prominent. Fox News didn't surpass CNN in ratings until 2002. When they first came out in 1996 they weren't even on in major media markets like NYC and LA. So pretty unlikely for that to be said in 1998.

that would be amazing, but hard to tell what is to happen regarding the case. i think that mariko probably has no idea that jeff the killer has become so huge, but if she does, its quite clear that she doesnt wanna contribute to the search anymore after what had happened. we dont even know the full picture of the original story, but i can only assume that a person wouldnt want to come back to the past after getting bullied for it.

But I remember when Dycaite (founder of the Lost Media Wiki) made up a creepypasta about an episode of a McDonald's cartoon that was actually lost just to get it faster lol people thought the creepypasta was real

With Children, started in 1987, and was one of their first shows. So Donald Trump wasn't talking about Fox News viewers in April of 1988 because they didn't exist yet.

I even have the novel and the art books, but I always assumed that the lost ending was just an altered credits to fit the tv airing, not something with actual changes.

I would also love preservations of other Nippon TV Friday Roadshow broadcasts. Especially the Rebuild of Evangelion films, which had reedited versions aired there. Studio Khara also considers these TV airings to be different from the theatrical and Blu-ray versions. The first film was released in cinemas as 1.0, then on DVD as 1.01, and on Blu-ray as 1.11. But the Friday Roadshow releases were 1.01’ and 1.01’’. 2.0 was released in cinemas with 2.22 on Blu-ray shortly after, but Nippon TV has 2.02’, 2.02’’, and 2.02’’’. 3.0 was released in cinemas followed by 3.33 on Blu-ray, and 3.333 in IMAX cinemas and IMAX Enhanced 4K UHD Blu-ray. It had two Nippon TV airings with 3.03’ and 3.03’’. I would also want the Friday Roadshow versions of the Star Wars Original Trilogy and Top Gun, as they had alternate Japanese dubs than what was on the VHS, DVD and Blu-ray versions. Even the 4K remastered Blu-ray/UHD of Top Gun didn’t have the Nippon TV dub, despite proudly presenting the TV dubs (only the TV Tokyo and Fuji TV dubs were present, the DVD dub wasn’t but it is on the old Blu-ray). And said TV dub Blu-ray was made to promote the sequel, which controversially used the TV Tokyo cast for returning characters instead of the more popular DVD dub.

Princess Chung is North/South Korean. And the main reason that's lost is because it was made in collaboration between animators from both countries, but then relations turned sour again. Also, random detail I find funny: the studio that co-animated it in North Korea is the same one that makes Squirrel and Hedgehog and those terrible Italian straight-to-DVD animations.

the searches for japanese things (or searches mainly involving the japanese side of the internet) are the most interesting ones. im more than tired of all those american kids show searches being the most popular as i just cant relate to them at all.

The Apprentice outtakes never made it out, and there's a few accounts of the existing. I don't believe the Oprah clip exists at all, but the idea of it isnt too hard to believe. Trump isn't as unpopular among producers as people imagine. He's unpopular with creatives, but the other side of the system aren't totally against Trump in the same way. And it doesn't have to be "suppressed". Oprah is protective of her archive and only let's short clips out of the early stuff. And producers don't give a damn about an Internet search that involves one of the millions of hours video their company owns. Again, it almost 100% doesn't exist but the concept of it isn't unbelievable. Oprah is protective of her archive, producers who may have copies aren't interested in sharing them, etc. But it's nonsense. In the extreme.
