Catscratch is one of my favorite nicktoons of all time, and I’m sad that it’s fading to obscurity, My favorite episodes are when Gordon gets an allergic reaction, and his brothers mistake him for a monster, and the one when waffle befriends a bunch of lobsters.
Very underrated show ❤❤.i love it, and I believe the name of the first episode you mentioned is love sick *with gordon being allergic to broccoli, I love waffle there especially, we know Gordon's allergic, so stop trying to trick us with the truth, TRUTH TRICKER!!!!😂*
i went into this thinking “hey, i have an episode on a nick picks dvd!” but then you said that’s all that’s left of it. incredible how something can just disappear.
Waffle was my favorite. "Splee!" I think I remember there being an episode where it shows how smart he really is and it's just his carefree silly nature that lays on the surface.
I know that feel. But you know whats the worse part? I vividly remembered back in my 4th grade year in elementary. When we form teams and name our teams after a certain topic. The topic st the time was cartoons. I went with Catscratch when my hand was chosen. Literally no one heard of the show. We went with a different name, but it broke my heart that no one even at the time heard of the cartoon
If somebody mentioned the show just by name I would have said no, but I basically instantly had recollection after seeing the thumbnail for this video and the resulting clips shown. Possibly erased from memory and history for some, but I do recall it, not at fondly as some other cartoons from my childhood, but it still has a spot there somewhere.
Catscratch is lost??? i used to love this show. made me like root beer fr. i'm glad it's not _lost_ lost, but it's a shame that it was forgotten and is incredibly difficult to find. i always thought it was a fun show, and it had potential to be well-loved at the time or even just a cult classic now.
This show was really underrated. It's actually pretty sad that most of the episodes are just gone like that, as I remember watching it on Nickelodeon regularly when I was younger and then finding nearly all of them a few years later on RU-vid, only for them all to just start vanishing. The humor had a more natural feel and rarely came off as obnoxious, the characters were well-rounded, and the writers really knew how to just have fun with its concept. l remember there was actually one more serious episode where Mr. Blik keeps being followed by a wooly mammoth that him and his brothers discovered, after it mistakes him for its mother. Blik is annoyed and aggressive first, but starts to develop a parent-like bond with it before it's killed by an angry mob, with Blik failing to rescue it from falling and crying over the fact that he was his "mommy". At the end of the episode, the next morning Blik wakes up, depressed, and finds a stick on his windowsill that he used to play with the mammoth earlier on (I'm pretty sure there was a shot of the mammoth's trunk putting the stick on the window), making him smile. I apologize for writing a book I just wanted to share my little piece. I know the show isn't completely lost, I just wanted to share this little part that always stuck with me, in case it wasn't one of those that were available to watch anywhere.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this show especially WAFFLE! I’m 23 and I still watch it online, I wish the show lasted longer and I can’t believe anyone think this show this show was horrible😩 what’s wrong with you people Also thank you for this video happy to know it wasn’t just me and my mom who loved Catscrach
I'm so horrifically saddened that it's not on DVD. I loved this show. Mr. Blik was my favorite. This show was so funny to me as an adult. My mother hated it though but I didn't care. Lol. I hope to find the entire series on DVD someday.
A show that I loved that met a similar fate was Time Squad. I remember loving that show _immensely_ growing up. But now it's fallen into complete obscurity and I don't know if any full episodes are available....
I totally loved that show... i remember seeing it last on nicktoons germany sometime around 2015 ( funfact, in the german dubbed version gordon speaks in a frisian accent )... very sad to see that it isn't available anywhere nowadays.
I remember this show well actually! I loved it in fact, mainly cause I was always a big cat lover. I used to draw the three brothers every now and then on my schoolwork too. Good times.
I personally did not watch cat scratch but I do remember it being on a lot during my high school years and thinking wow, this show must be very popular.
One of my favorites growing up. Waffle was always my favorite because I almost related to him a lot. He was like this weird encyclopedia of knowledge but never tried to be seen as “the smart one” and just enjoyed things he liked knowing his brothers will protect him and guide him into exciting situations. Oh how my young undiagnosed autism self felt represented.💚💚💚💚
I'm 42 right now and cat scratch when it came on was one of the best shows! I mean this is my 30s I think and it was just it was so good. The characters looked perfect! I actually found this video trying to just see whatever happened to this show cuz it was so good and kind of just disappeared. Wonderful video man this is great I love it, what I was looking for but it sucks we can't get them on DVD
Man that summer when the show premiered was such a happy time in my childhood. I wish this show would come back somehow. It was one of the few that would genuinely make me laugh.
5:32 is an underrated sentence with a _very_ underrated voice actor. Just hearing the way she says "who are you to defy my will" fills me with unexplainable glee. Also, I remember this show! I loved it as a kid. Didn't it air alongside "My Dad the Rockstar" ?
I just randomly woke up at 7am wanting to watch this so I came to RU-vid. Just to find out there are no full episodes ANYWHERE. How random and heartbreaking
Yes, I remember liking it! I also found a Mr Blick toy from, like, McDonalds or Burger King, that I had. Also, would be interested to see you cover the Redwall animated series, it has three seasons and I remembered only a tiny part of it from when I was little until I found it later and was able to watch the whole thing
Does anyone else find it suspicious that only Avatar is the one Nicktoon the network admits existed in 2005, while the other two shows they treat as if they were never green lighted in the first place? I always thought that Nick was decent in the distribution category, for their official Nicktoons at least, but for some bizarre reason, they never released any of the 2005 Nicktoons in any distribution site, baring Avatar.
I love Catscratch! My favorite episode are the one where Mr. Blik’s fur gets dyed green, the one where the cats divide up the house, the one where Hovis pretends to be Mrs. Cramdilly, and, my personal favorite, the one where Gordon helps the Kraken restore his honor. Honestly, Gordon Quid is one of the most heroic characters I’ve ever seen! He defeated a banshee using the power of song, defeated a Kraken twice, & took down aliens who mistook the mansion for a spaceship! He’s incredible
I loved the show as a kid, watching it whenever it was on tv, always loved seeing how these three cats spend their wealth on the dumbest things. It sucks when media is lost to time and you never really see much of it ever again, i don't really see the point in sealing it away for forever, who is it benefitting to never let a show see the light of day again?
If you love Catscratch, I highly recommend watching the Brazilian cartoon Boris E Rufus. It has an English dub and its like a spiritual successor to the show.
I love Catscratch, and I never knew you know about Earthworm Jim! I love Earthworm Jim a lot not gonna lie. And catscratch is to me, Nick's version of Ed Edd n Eddy, except you replace their obsession for jawbreakers with an obsession for root beer. It is so underrated and does deserve a lot better honestly.
Hey, Shawn. Probably my first time commenting on your channel, but to let you know, there is a RU-vid channel called “Forgotten Junk” that has all of the episodes of Catscratch (except episodes 19a and 19b because of a Copyright Claim), so if you want to go down an even deeper nostalgic walk down Memory Lane, you know what to do.
As soon as I heard the theme song, I started singing along and all the memories came back. "Gordan, Waffle and Mr. Blik, had an owner that was really rich...."
I remember watching this as a child but I don’t remember it effecting my childhood any sort of way. I just remember watching it when my favorite shows weren’t on or coming up next. And I remember they sold catscratch toys in the McDonald’s happy meals.
Oh man, cartoons like this were my absolute childhood. Catscratch, now that's a show I haven't thought about in a while. I was never particularly fond of it while it was airing, but I didn't hate it either. Shame to see that it's become so obscure.
You dug a deep buried memory out of my subconscious with that Kracken episode. I also remember the one where they dress up as girls so they can sneak into the slumber party and drink root beer.
Luckily, Paramount+ has been releasing other short-lived Nicktoons like Harvey Beaks and Welcome to the Wayne. So there is a chance Catscratch might be on this platform.
The plot of the series reminded me of Aristocats but in a timeline where the butler didn't decided to try to kill them, but realize he would still outlive the cats.
I do remember that show and I was a bit sad that it didn’t come maybe is because of Nickelodeon themself or might be the crater but on the bright side I’m only hope for them to come back is they’re DLC fighters for NASB
I think it's likely because of Doug TenNapel becoming a nazi wackjob and pushing bullshit conspiracy theories, can't blame Nick for not wanting to put more money in his pocket.
Ah, my childhood in fact this cartoon got me into cats, believe it or not. But the sad thing is that even for its time, I remembered that I was the only in my 4th grade class, when we name teams after cartoons, to even know about this show during its airing. Which makes me sad.
This is literally the lost memory bank ive been searching for for near decades I didnt remember the name i just ask people "do you remember a cartoon about talking cats that drove rat-rod cars and trucks?" They always said no
I loved this show as a kid and was sad when it stopped airing and just disappeared. Like, it doesn't seem like a Fanboy and Chumchum scenario where they want to erase it from memory but given that it only had 1 season, they might not have deemed it worthy of keeping alive despite its nominations.
i vaguely remember 2 episodes of this show "the lucky claw" and the episode where the 3 brothers buy robot versions of themselves thats it, i remember the show existing, but i dont remember any other episodes besides those 2 and i couldn't even tell you the whole plot of either of those episodes
I remember the show, very little of it actually.i wanted toknow it's conclusion but I also questioning why Gordon is simping for Kimberly that part of the show is rather suspicious
I remember watching an episode of this show when I was 9 years old. It wasn’t bad, but I ended up having nightmares for a week., it was pretty disturbing, it was the episode where some slugs that tried to kill the cats. They then fell into the deep abyss along with the toilet. And for a second I thought they went to hell, but they were in China. And then I had a nightmare where I was on the toilet, and I fell 1009 feet down the floor and this time I ended up in hell.
I have fond memories of this cartoon. For whatever reason it was one of the shows that my sister and I really latched onto and quoted all the time - it is actually very meme worthy. Doug TenNapel used to be a big influence on me artistically. The unfortunate part is he's kinda blacklisted nowadays for some of his controversial opinions - hes very much conservative christian kinda homophobic...
I think the only episode I watched was the episode where they were on a pirate ship. Aside from that, I love the show. I hope Thaddeus Crews puts these guys in for DLC.
Yeah i Remember this Show, One of Voices Sounded Familier (Waffle's Voice), and it was like a Kids "The 3 Stooges", but instead of People its Cats that Mess Around with the Wealth they got.
You want to deal with some actual lost media? I've spent years trying to get a full collection of Yvon of the Yukon, but some of those episodes are legitimately lost.
I honestly really enjoyed this show as a kid i mean heck i have a oc loosely base on Mr.bliks design in away😅so yeah it sad to see this show fade like it never even happened:(
