You did incredibly well at that sale, Kevin! I would have been biting my lip, until it bled, wanting to say, “Dude! YOU put that out here, to SELL. Yet, you haven’t a clue for what price?! Gather up your toys & put them back in your house & quit wasting all of our time!” Then I’d still be grumbling….till I came to that sweet lady’s sale! When people start looking things up and asking eBay prices I just want to say...you know you're running a garage sale, right? If I wanted to pay eBay prices, I'd have rolled out of bed, clicked a Buy It Now, had the thing shipped to my door, and I'd have a robust return policy on my side if any pieces were missing or there were any issues.

He can ask what he wants, of course, but they're gonna still be sitting there at the end of the day, and then he has to do the hard work of selling on eBay if he wants the real money. He's free to do that if he wants, but anytime I see stuff at garage sales for eBay prices I walk away and so do 95% of others.

@@cassielabelle2146 The hard work isn’t reselling on eBay, If it was, we wouldn’t be doing it. it’s paying full price for a new item that you’ve worked hard for. my problem is that a reseller should not get mad because someone wants top dollar for an item they own. If you were selling your house for $300,000 and somebody offered you $120,000 only to turn around and sell it for $250,000 wouldn’t that make you mad? I’m not against reselling, I resell myself. i’m against thinking that you are privileged more than the owner himself. When I’m at a garage sale, and a person is asking top dollar for an item, I make a suggestion that they should go on craigslist or eBay. not out of spite, but just to help them get more for their items.

When people put things in garage sales and hesitate to sell it for a reasonable offer it usually means they aren’t ready to sell, sadly. What a waste of time. I bet he never sold those things.

It had nothing to do with "people in the car" he wanted to get to the next sale. I have found that crappy demeanor from a buyer goes NO WHERE at a sale. Be nice and polite when you go to someone else's house, I wouldn't have sold him anything.

I couldn't imagine putting something out at a garage sale that's worth hundreds of dollars and not have some type of idea what my bottom dollar was before I opened my garage to the public. To get a $200 offer which was likely the best offer he got all day and not come back with a counter without looking em up tells me the guy didn't really want to sell em. Not ready to let go

I think any one of us who was interested in something and kept asking for the price, but couldn’t get an answer, would be pretty frustrated. Especially if it was something we knew we were willing to pay up for. You did well. He should have just kept them inside until he had a price.

You were a little inpatient with the guy. I don't think he was ready for the picker rush right at opening. I remember my first garage sale. I had a bunch of video games and old VHS as well as some old figures to sell. I advertised them in the ad. I was swarmed at 6:30am (opening was 7am). I could feel his pain. Although I did have an idea of what I wanted before I went to bed the night before. I love your videos and your content is incredibly helpful and informative. Thank you for the work you put into it. Just grab all the stuff you want make a pile and make offer on all the pile. Avoid asking individual prices at all times regardless of their sticker prices or verbal prices.

I love heroquest but that with starquest I don't believe is worth 1200 dollars. That is what it would have need to sell for I think in order to make 500 profit. I think I could have got around 5-6 hundred total assuming everything was in the boxes.

It amazes me people do all these garage sales and waste time getting a dollar for selling crap. Wealthy people just donate and take a tax write off. Wealthy people don't have time to mess around all day while Joe Bob tries to drill you down on the prices because they are reselling. People in the top percentile for income make thousands per hour for their time. I guess the garage sales are hard up for money. Even if they do not want Ebay prices they should look up before the garage sale to have somewhat of an idea on price.

Garage Sale people looking up ebay prices usually are looking at listed prices not sold comps...if you want to sell it online then you do the work to list it pack and ship...you don’t get ebay prices at a garage sale

I despise asking for prices at yard sales. Even if they didn't have time to price they should know how much they need for them. If they go by ebay prices I ask them if they sell on ebay.

You understand your offer of 200 was extremely low. The heros quest and 2 side expansions alone complete sell upwards of 450 and the starquest with the expansions near the same. If the pieces are painted your looking in the 600 dollar range. I sell these regularly. Just one dice is 10 dollars with shipping. Those 2 games and the expansion sets complete easy 650 to 800 depending on condition

You understand that at GARAGE sales...you're putting stuff out there you no longer care for or need and want it gone thus you put extremely low prices on it. After all, they're board games. Not Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant rookie cards that have been signed. I mean, to each their own. But, at the end of the day, don't put a single thing in your "GARAGE SALE" if you want f'n eBay prices!

For example...I have a brand nee in box Kobe Bryant figurine that sells on eBay for $249.99. But, on mine, the box is damaged a bit. And I'm currently struggling to even sell it for $50-$75. It's the Kobe Bryant mindstyle figurine with him wearing the purple jersey. Not the white one.

@@morongene no, I haven’t purchased anything at a garage sale where the seller didn’t know what they wanted. My problem wasn’t the price he wanted. It was the fact that he didn’t know how much he wanted at all, but said he knew how much they were worth on eBay.

Your the garage sale buyer I get a little over whelmed by lol. You were really pushing him on that price. I was in the seller position feeling pressured and I just blew the guy off since he couldn't wait lol. Consider the stress of setting up pulling things out it's a lot of work and if early birds show up he didn't price them and you come in low balling and pressuring him I could only imagine the tension. Lol

This is WHY people hate resellers. I had one reseller come to my household sale and he brought a pile of stuff up to the table to pay, his wife's job was to try to keep me busy as he rattled off offers to me. He sure didn't want me to touch my stuff. I said I just wanted to take a look and he started pitching a FIT. I finally just called the sale off. I knew something was wrong. Sure enough he and his innocent granny wife had dumped full coin collections into boxes with tiny kids toys. It was no accident. They were not even interested in the coins at fair prices. They had hidden about $5000 worth of coins with the toys....expecting I would grab the $20 and be thrilled. Turns out a neighbour recognized them. They have been doing this all over Coquitlam, BC. Very sickening to be thieves.
