this song hits hard. strangely it brought me the feeling of when Tails was "robotized" and Eggman "fell into lava" in Sonic Lost World. The feeling that Sonic had lost everything despite his best efforts.
@@Goosecognito I mean, neither were Tails or Knuckles gameplay-wise. Plus, if I remember correctly, the life draining from the Lost Hex implied that Amy and Knuckles died, or were at least unconscious or unable to contact Sonic.

Loving this song, just from how it's from the perspective of Sonic slowly losing his mind to the demonic voice inside his head, and while we don't directly see it, it can be implies that Sonic lost, considering Xenophanes singing the same song with Majin with sonics vocals in the background, almost mocking his attempts at control. Loving how Dingus is building his own lore within these songs, and it's kind of scary that not even Majin could interrupt this one...
@@JJ_cooks Well.. usually Majin is interpreted as some sort of "Guardian Conscience" inside Sonic's mind, rather than another Demon or something like that. Maybe that's what Tristan was talking about
@@NominalDingus so basically this isn’t xeno more like xenos subconscious keeping sonic at bay while he deals with majin and others. As sad as it is to say right now sonic can’t fight off xeno but with bf and egg man resisting him along with majin it’s only a matter of time before he’s strong enough. If I had to guess this is all leading to a confrontation between sonic and xeno maybe with a remix of confronting yourself. If so here’s an idea. While one version of confronting yourself has sonic go super in the end which is fitting it would be cool if he starts out as dark sonic in the beginning then transitions into normal sonic in the middle before going super then hyper in the end defeating xeno.

I generally don’t know why I love this song so much, from the glitched warped backgrounds (including the glitched Green Hill Zone background), to the warped face of Xain that you can’t make out as an actual being, as if it’s buried in Sonic’s mind and him not being able to properly decipher who they are. Next I’m going to talk about the actual breakdown Sonic has at about 1/3 of the way into the song, generally depicting the loss of control in his own mind and the struggle to break free from Xeno/Xain, and finally, the vocals and music, the music displays a general feeling of loss and discomfort and Sonic’s voice reeks of struggle and sadness, but his vocals are crafted so well, it’s so difficult to stop replaying the song. A true Masterpiece! :)

The "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" hits fucking hard. It sounds like Sonic is in excruciating pain, even though we only hear him happy, a bit angry or chill, and idk why, but it just gives me a goddamn sad feeling, and holy shit Sonic sounds like he was actually voiced by one of Sonics official voice actors. The song itself already slaps, and the voiceline is just pure gold. Love this.
Is this what Majin has been fighting back at Xeno to save? Has he been trying to get back the original Sonic deep from somewhere inside this horrible demonic entity? Also the "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" was really powerful and I could feel the absolute despair and anguish coming from Sonic. Amazing job!
Sonic sounds like he's in actual pain in this song, it makes this banger sound so unique and gentle sounding compared to other fnf sonic songs since it entirely flips the table on the topic of "energetic and upbeat" which is how sonic's shown and expressed as. Overall fantastic work, Nominal!
I love all of the voicelines in these songs, every single one has such POWER to them! Four-Way Fracture with eggmans small monologue: "There's nowhere to run, it's time to end this Sonic!" Old Habits with Majin: "We REALLY need to stop meeting like this!" Lost to Times intro: "Xeno... I've come to bargain" "You've come to die... J E S T E R ." And now this masterpiece of Sonics vain cry of defiance: "GET OUT OF MY HEEEAAAD!!" Every single one, chills. Mashing rewind to hear such powerful deliveries. Great work on these and I wonder where the narrarive these songs are playing out will go next!
And Xeno's response to Majin saying "We really need to stop meeting like this" is also kinda powerful considering Xeno's gotten a decent bit of power from killing the 3. This line being "YOU ANNOYING LITTLE SHI", which is also slightly a reference to his " WHY YOU LITTLE" that he directs to BF.
@@tarriestkn1ght In this AU, Four-Way Fracture was just going to be Triple Trouble, but "amped" up, but Majin (With time altering/travel powers) Interrupts the song, and frees all the victims, which deprived Xeno of his powers, he still had power, just not as much. So after FFF, Majin is WAY more powerful, like their wins is (Majin:) 3 (Xeno:) 0. I kinda went on a rant, but what I'm saying it Majin is way more powerful than Xeno in this AU.
@@clover1068 Yeah, I can see what you're getting at. Exes get stronger with the more souls they collect through murder but Majin freeing the souls of Xeno's victims makes Majin stronger than Xeno by miles.
This is like Phantasm and Confronting Yourself done better honestly. The moment should be sad and frightful, having a demon hunt you down in the form of yourself but more twisted and the demon wants to be with you forever as it tortured you endlessly. It’s just the perfect tone for such a moment like this. Sometimes you don’t need fast paced songs to tell a story
confronting yourself is more of a fight theme based around sonic finally facing off against .exe. it’s only natural that it’d give off such a different vibe since the circumstances are so different 🤷 (+ it’s a megalo song) and phantasm while being fast paced did an awesome job at representing Sonic’s internal struggle against Fleetway.
Well yes, but also Confronting Yourself was never meant to be an emotional song. It was never even meant to be an FnF song. It was a Megalovania theme for an Undertale Au, so it being fast paced fight music makes sense.
I dont't know what to say that I haven't said already, this is really amazing. I guess this is Sonic's last fight right? Before being defeated by Xain, because that's the vibes it gives off. Nostalgic and tragic in a way, i really like it. Also very nice to see the secret character revealed already (if it is him), I think i can listen the Xeno and Black Sun's EXE voices merged together (or at least inspired out of it, could be wrong tho). Really really cool Also, you're pushing these out at a vert amazing speed and with such quality that it almost feels unnatural, I really hope you're taking care of yourself as well.
this song with its sad mood, perfectly shows the perspective of how Sonic manages to lose to something he can't even see. all he cares about and loves most, just going to the trash And all this because someone he never knew existed wanted to. He tries to fight, he tries to recover, but the last question that comes is "why?", in the end what you see is defeat. Sadness.A pointless fight to maybe save or bring down the world, which in the end could lead to an apocalypse. All this message passed through a sad mood and soft but vibrant tones at the same time. This is what I really call a Work of Art (or a Masterpiece)

the way sonic says “GET OUT OF MY HEAD” Honestly gave me chills. because his voice sounded truly enraged like a real person would. and his voice while singing right after just sounds like he lost control of his own emotions the same way he did his body. and despite his best efforts, he’s lost everything. he has no reason to fight back but he has to. and in the songs exe sounds like he’s toying with sonic, almost mocking his attempts at controlling himself, the only thing about this mod and sonic.exe based mods is there’s never a part where like sonic beats the exe in his head and saves everyone, it’s always sonic is trapped in his own mind lifelessly flailing at something that isn’t even there but it’s inside his mind just to toy with him. banger song dude

The amount of emotional pain and grief that is apparent in this song is absolutely PHENOMENAL! I listen to this song for one time and now I got it on loop for like 5 hours. (I’m being hella serious) This song has so much SOUL put into it and I can only congratulate the composer for such a thing. Everything just sounds so damn GOOD! Even the sudden outburst “Get out of my head!” Completely caught me off guard, that was some amazing voice acting for that part. A song like this would very well deserve its own personal mod. A small idea I had was when sonic lets out his sudden outburst clones of Xain circle around Sonic within his mind, further causing the emotional stress. You did one hell of a job with this song Nominal, fuckin’ props man!
Honestly after rembrences mix this feels very different as this one is more sad and ends in Sonic's loss and rembrences mix is more hopeful with sonic winning against Xian with help but this is very different to rembrences but both great

So, this is what I think the story that Nominal has set up. It all starts at the song “Too Slow”. This start off the story by showing how sonic. exe has killed Sonic’s friends. Then, after BF defeats him, the song then goes to “You Can’t Run”. Sonic.exe then gets mad after being defeated, and starts to show his true form (you can see the tiny purple spikes on his back in the canceled 3.0 sonic.exe mod). Then, BF defeats sonic.exe again. Sonic.exe then transforms into Xenophanes out of anger. Sonic.exe (now Xenophanes), summons Sonic’s friends to fight BF in hopes of defeating him. Dispute everything, BF comes out victorious, setting the souls of Sonic’s friends free. The story moves over to “Old Habits”. Eggman fights Xenophanes in his weakened state, and in 2:45 of the song, Xenophanes weakens even more, and sonic starts to, forced by Xenophanes, song with Xeno. Then, the story moves to “Lost To Time”. Majin fights Xenophanes and weakens him just enough for sonic to try to break free from sonic.exe’s grasp. The final song, “Lost My Mind”, sonic fights Xian (check pinned comment for more info on him), and with the help of all his friends trying to save him, he is motivated to break free. After a tough battle against emotions and depression, sonic finally breaks free from evil. (Once again, this is just what I think of what Nominal has done with these beautiful songs, I’m not saying any of this is true.)
It’s almost scary how much emotion this song portrays, we see Sonic clearly trying to keep calm and collected only to get enraged and fight back with all his might at 0:53. But in the end whatever he can or does do ends up being futile as he’s slowly drained out. Meanwhile at the same time Xain keeps his composure and maintains the same vocals the entire time, showing regardless of how much Sonic tries to fight back it’s futile in comparison to him.
Bro... The first seconds of the song... She's very emotional... and very heavy... After listening to it dozens of times, I couldn't resist, and... started crying... Bravo!
so from what im getting at from the lore of this song and breaking point is, Sonic’s mind is a very chaotic zoom call with Sonic, Fleetway, Xain, and probably a bunch of others, like Exetior maybe?

Damn, this is really good. I was already a fan of your previous songs and this one is really enjoyable. It sounds great and you can really feel the emotion from the vocals and tone of the song. Also, is 1:30 a reference to phantasm or are my ears playing tricks on me.

I find this more important than ironic Lost to Time and Lost my mind happen at the same time. The song lengths (in vocals/inst) is able to round to about 3m and 38s. In Lost to Time, you can (slightly) hear sonic through xeno. In Lost to Time, sonic is trying to break out of Xenophanes' control, while Majin tries to see if he can come to a deal with Xenophanes. Ironic theory imo.
