This is by far the scariest experience we’ve ever had. The irony is that it was the calmest quietest day it could have been on the water. We lost Jetty and we didn’t think we were getting her back.

I cried watching Sierra trying to get Jettie to go to her and then cried again watching Sierra crying in the dingy. I’m so happy you guys found her! I was sad when I saw your IG story about it but this video really put it in to perspective! So happy for happy endings

So glad Jetty is ok. You are such great parents, and it is easy to see how much you love Jetty. Don't let this discourage your family adventures. Things sometimes just happen. Thanks for sharing all of your adventures, even the scary ones. You could have easily not shown this. Now just give each other a big family hug, and get back out there having fun as a family.

My heart sank when I saw the title and I was wiping the tears away when Sierra was trying to get to her on the beach. Thank God Jetty is safe. GPS collar and a new PFD for sure.

Oh. my. gosh. I must have missed this episode back then and somehow it popped up on my recommended and I saw the title and freaked out!!! Poor Jetty girl. Ya'll are the best dog parents and it's so obvious how much you love her. I know that pit in your stomach feeling with crippling anxiety when your pet is lost or missing. UGH! I was feeling all of those emotions just watching this, even though I knew it was years ago! Lol. I'm so glad that situation turned out the way it did and that she was ok! 😢 *The "too soon" bit at the end made me chuckle though...even 5 years later, it will always be too soon after you've had a scare like that!

I'm so glad y'all found Jetty. My dog wears a PFD in the swimming pool, she loves the water so much, she doesn't when when its time to get out, she'll swim herself to the point of exhaustion if we'd let her. We have to constantly monitor to make sure she doesn't over do it. Better to be safe than sorry. Give Jetty a big hug from me and Roxy.

Oh my gosh!, I had to keep drying my teary eyes, I love Jetty so much and kept thinking, please be a happy ending, I couldn't have handled anything different. It seems that she was scared at first but then she was yelling at you for taking longer to find her. I cried the hardest watching her and Sierra reunite. I would get her a comfy cozy life jacket and put a go pro on her as well. Can you imagine her journey, we'll never know. So glad she is safe. I wonder If she will be less inclined to take a plunge again. She is special. Hang in there guys, we love ya'll.

G'day Bill, & Sierra! I am really glad, you found your wonderful "Comadre", (Jetty) and that she is fine. We have used compadre/comadre in two main ways; first as a godparent (through the church), and second as a very close confidant, friend, one who shares a great deal of activities together. In both cases, it describes the bond between us as adults, nurtured over time, and circumstance. In the US, wherever there are people who speak Spanish, it is traditional to accept one another as compadre, or compay, etc., when you share that very close bond. Again, I am so glad Jetty is Okay! Glad it worked out for the best! Have you considered a long tether, or maybe a short tether, short enough she couldn't jump overboard in the first place, in addition to the PFD? That, and maybe along with some sort of way for her to self-rescue if possible, or at least some sort of raft or something like that she could climb onto from the water? Would take some thought I know, but maybe a swim ladder and a rope she could be trained to use to pull herself back aboard with or some such? Worth some thought at least.

I was diving that day when you lost your dog! I surfaced with a big ole' hogfish off Manowar and you were right at the surface frantically searching in your dingy. Glad you found the dog!

Almost loosing Getty made this 65 year old grown man cry. I’ve had dog companions all my life. I had a Terrier named Molly…best companion I’ve ever had the opportunity to be responsible for. How I lost her is another story. Keep care of Getty!

I know this video is a couple years old but my heart broke for you guys watching you talk about not being able to find Jetty for an hour and a half. I can’t imagine how horrible this must have been. When I watched Sierra’s reunion with Jetty I cried and cried. I recently watched some of our newest videos and loved them so much I went back to the beginning and have been catching up on your story. None of my dogs are ever near water without bright life jackets on. Even at our cottage where the bay is shallow and one dog haaaaaaates water, doesn’t go near it... I don’t care, life jackets on. It just makes it easy to instantly spot them when there so much going on because bad things happen in the blink of an eye. Poor little girl was probably more afraid to find herself alone than anything. My heart broke for all 3of you watching this, it makes you absolutely sick inside. So happy all was well in the end. I can imagine how terrifying that moment in time was for all of you. 💕

Happy ending! You are giving Jetty an amazing life experience. From all I've seen you guys are great parents to her. I hope that after the shock has subsided you don't change your outlook. I imagine that any adventure comes with some risk. Don't beat yourselves up. She is in good hands and you are living the life. Happy you can all continue together.

Omg you guys ! I am sitting here with my boxer draped across my lap as I watch this with tears streaming down my face. So glad it worked out . We have a small boat but have not taken our dog out yet. Rule #1 - Survive the Adventure (everyone)! Happy ending / lesson learned - cool o---) Nice to see your umbrella on the dinghy. My wife and I were the first ones to use umbrellas on our sailboat over 20 yrs ago. At first people looked at us like we were nuts but then we saw more and more people using them. Cool.
