I work for a promotional products manufacturer with a lot of buildings and departments/production tasks. I ended up building a custom ERP inside FileMaker Pro that has managed pretty much everything except account successfully since then. We have iPads and PC’s/TV’s in all the key production areas, and they can all check out the master production schedule there, but then filter it just for their task/department, click on the order to see the EProof and work order, etc.. It also handles all of our inventory tracking, and back before we took most of our outsourcing in-house (like for foil stamping dies and paper printing), there was a section where we tracking job-specific materials we had to order or that the customer would provide for us.

One great thing about working with a technology partner like Konica/Ricoh/Canon, etc. is that they often have a service where they can come in, do a big audit of your shop and then present you with a list of software and services that would better make things more efficient/organized/easier to invoice, etc. I'm sure ultimately they would be trying to sell you more of their own services, but it would definitely be worth it to hear outside opinions from folks who specialize in helping shops run more efficiently. I would give your Konica rep a call and see if they offer that kind of service. Might be worth it.

Might try looking into a custom File Maker Pro setup.

Would be great if you learnt notion…. And then taught us how to use it.
