My Dad lived in the Mallard when it was a farm house in the 40's. Just carrying on his tradition, he was born in the Shakespeare when that was a farm house. I think Leicester Corporation owned them.

@@Kevvys Me and the wife was in there, not long after new owners took over. I ask why the name of Last Straw. He told me with all the problems he had with opening. The flap to enter on the bar to go in/out would not fit, he said to his wife that's the Last straw, and so the name. This was many years ago in the 80's. All the best, terry
