A film solely dedicated to the artisans of Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. This short documentary celebrates the skilled artisans of the region showcasing their expertise in the Lost Wax Metal Casting craft. The project, made possible through collaboration with the District Tourism & Development Office (DTDO) of Chamba, began as a research study to identify gaps in the craft's preservation and promotion earlier this year.
On September 27th, 2024, World Tourism Day, we proudly screened the film for Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal and the Tourism Department, highlighting Chamba's rich cultural heritage and ethnographic significance.
Our initiative aims not only to support individual artisans but also to revitalize the craft itself. By creating awareness and sharing Chamba's artistic legacy with a broader audience, we hope to contribute to the craft's long-term sustainability.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Chamba's craft community and all those involved in the development, screening, recording, and production of this documentary. Their collective efforts have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition and fostering appreciation for this time-honored tradition.
