Trying out the new Lib Tech X Lost Little Wing for the first time on a barrels session. Really fun board and nice and robust with the concrete. It feels very similar to my Inferno 72 which is no bad thing. Also feels much springier than my older Lib Techs.
Dims: 5'10" x 19.8 X 2.5 30.8L
Big Thanks to Ad Hutchison for the footage from the pier!

Saw ur comment on another review. Nice footy! I'm a heavier guy that destroys stock channel islands glass jobs. I actually loved my surftech when I got one in 2006. This seems like the right choice

Felt this board up in a surf shop few weeks ago. Not sure whats with the new tech but it still felt heavy and stiff. Kinda reminded me of a surftech in a way but probably great for a heavier guy.

Not sure anything is as stiff as a surftech! I'd just say the tech is a decent improvement over previous versions so the difference between this and a standard board isn't as noticeable as it was before, but yeah, definitely on the heavier, stiffer side. If you surf somewhere where you are forever dinging boards, it's definitely worth the trade off though.

Some cracking footage on this one. I like the inside lip view at 2’18’’

Looks like a fun pool board. You'll be putting Zero out of business at this rate!!

Nice video, may I ask you your weight and height? I would like to buy the wing but not sure If 5.8 or 5.10 thanks.

I'm 78kg, about 175cm. Board feels relatively large underfoot as the tail is quite wide. I would go for a smaller size if between sizes tbh.

Is this new libtech construction any better than the other regular libtech boards you think?
@elliphant00
@elliphant00 2 года назад
Definitely. A touch lighter and feels pretty normal. I usually find the other lib techs feel a bit dead, but this doesn't. It is more expensive though.

@@elliphant00 ah great to hear ! I ended up getting the Libtech quiver killer just because it had more volume. I hope they release a groveller model on this new technology. I don’t mind that it’s a little more expensive as long as the board really lasts as long as they claim :)
@elliphant00
@elliphant00 2 года назад
@@CarlosPeralta_UK I wouldn't be surprised if they move more onto this construction. All the Libs seem pretty long lasting though, if you don't mind a bit of yellowing.

I gotta check the litreage but it’s probably good for heavier guys? Like 90-100 kg

I've never liked the feel of the inferno 72 under arm to chunky the rails I thought so i never got one. Lost little wing vs inferno 72 which board do you prefer? Sick surf footage and nice surfing mate.
@elliphant00
@elliphant00 2 года назад
Thanks mate! Very similar boards, but some differences. The drops felt harder on the little Wing due to less nose rocker, I had to go later even though it has slightly more volume. I found I was able to get more critical in my turns on the inferno, but I felt less smooth. The inferno also feels like you can top out on speed, more an issue on fat sections in the ocean than in the pool. They are both cracking boards and the new construction on the LW really removes the dead feel that the older Libs suffered. Overall I prefer the Inferno, but there's not a lot in it and the bullet proof nature of the Lib is a huge positive. I know a few guys are really enjoying the inferno in the pool.

Great video looks like fun! Looking to buy one for the better days in the Dutch north sea. And also for travelling abroad. But i have a choice between the Little Wing, Rocket Redux or Quiver Killer. All at 5'10 but im getting a bit Lost here. This 5'10 model goes at 30.8 L Rocket Redux at 34 L Quiver Killer at 32 L Im 180cm tall and weigh in around 82kg (5'11 and 180 pounds) Can you share your height and weight in comparison? And have you surfed this little wing with Twin + trailer Setup?? Appreciate your view on this.
@elliphant00
@elliphant00 2 года назад
Hi mate, thank you! Funnily enough I have all three of those boards, but the rocket redux is a 5'8 at 30.5l. I'm 78kg, 173cm but was up at 82, The little wing is definitely my favourite, I haven't surfed it in the sea yet but it feels like it should work well with the lower entry rocker. It's a good paddler too. The quiver killer definitely has more top end range than the little wing, but still works pretty well in the smaller stuff. The construction on the little wing is excellent, it has more pop and you can feel the difference compared to the older grey lib tech construction. I would steer clear of the rocket redux if the other two are an option. It's not a bad board, but it is quite flat and I found it fairly stiff to turn. I also struggled with it when it got bigger. It is fun with a twin plus trailer set up though. (I've got a video in here of that set up somewhere) I'd highly recommend the little wing if you like a playful board. If you are planning more travel to bigger wave spots, or surf more on the rail, then lean towards the QK or maybe even look at the new Sabotaj. Not tried twin plus trailer yet. I got a dark arts inferno I've been on the past couple of weeks. But back on the LW for a bit now

@@elliphant00 Thanks for you answer! What do you mean by "The QK def has more top end range compared to the LW"??? Comparing these 3 boards in the shop the Rocket Redux really was the thickest railed board of these 3. But i think i have made my choice. The shop will soon get a 6'0 coming in at 33.5 L i think this will suit my length/ weight a little bit better. I won't be surfing this board in much higher waves than 2.5m.... deffo not in the Netherlands because we never get a clean swell like that.
@elliphant00
@elliphant00 2 года назад
By top end range, I mean the QK will handle bigger waves than the Little Wing. But I'm sure the LW would be fine up to 2.5m. You can always chuck some bigger fins in. I meant to say that I do feel like I tend to take the drop a bit later on the LW than on some of my other boards of similar volume, so a couple of extra litres probably isn't a bad idea. I know a few guys who surf the QK overvolumed and it works well for them.

@@ErgensUit1987 did you end up getting the 6’0 little wing? I’m the same height and weight and can’t decide on the 5’10 or 6’0.
@ErgensUit1987
@ErgensUit1987 Год назад
@@dontreply8346 i bought a second hand quiver killer 6.0 in libtech construction. Have surfed it twice now (didnt had any proper waves). So cant really say how it acts in bigger more powerfull waves.
