I love the many comments of youtube heroes who never been on the water, yet know exactly what the salvage company does wrong. And this is happened in the Netherlands, yes those people who build their country by rage a war against the sea... and won. So i guess the dutch knows a thing or 2 about this line of work. The best helmsmen are ashore.... literally.
I know NOTHING about salvage operations but even I can see that the tractors are working against the tugs. They are keeping a constant force pulling the barge onto the shore🤯😫
Yeah, very weird salvage. Without the tractor and shovel the first pull would have been successfull. The first tugboat connected to the other tugboat is also waisting his power and from the other tugboat.
The tractor and shovel were the first vehicles to arrive at the scene. If you look at the angle the cable is on, to almost 90 degrees, they are preventing that the stern is running a ground any further, due to the rivers current. And if you know something about physics you would have known this angle wouldn't kept the barge a shore.
A bit longer or a bit shorter and he would have been fine :D It’s the inertia that carries you into the bank hard. Amazing how it lifts the bait up and jams it in.
Amazing how well the farm tractor's pulled her deeper into a hard grounding. It's like the tugs didn't even notice them working against them.. why were they not pulling from the opposite end ? Truly bizarre
De strang van de eerste sleepbboot naar het schip had langer moeten zijn. Het schroefwater drukte onmiddelijk tegen het schip. Zo is tornen niet van voordeel.
The tractors are making sure the ships bow isnt pushed deeper in the shallow when the stern comes round, this was on the ijssel river which has quite a forcefull current.

Why ? The tug pushing at the back needs to go the front and pull gettin the counter leaver into play on the lighter end and loose the John Deere and Volvo shovel they would saved the guy the upload time
Because you would be pushing the bow into the bank where it was heading and by levering the stern you would rip the bottom out of the boat as the barge probably weighs a few hundred tons.
