Hello John. It is so good to hear from you again, have been thinking of you. Well, as you can probably see, I have ten CDs on the internet but have now stopped playing. This is wonderful to hear. I hope you will find someone to restore this zither for you and I hope you might learn to play it. It is a wonderful instrument and not very many people play it. I love your videos, instrument, and playing. You have a wonderful vibrato and your melodies are really nice. Can people from the U.S buy your CD's? (That's a little country somewhere north of Mexico :-)).

Hallo Lotte, i was wondering if you had any knowledge of the violin zither. My grandmother recently inherited one, and were trying to learn how to play it. Neither of us can play the zither, but were trying. do you know which hand would pluck, and which would hold the bow? one end has a stand so it sits tilted, so much to learn... but fun none the less. thank you for playing, and sharing your passion. you play beautifully. - katja

Yes dear Hans, die lieben Finger sind immer ein Problem. Es braucht viel Uebung und Spielen bis man eine gewisse Hornhaut auf den Fingerspitzen hat. Egal ob man Nylon oder Stahl Saiten verwendet. Ich spiele mit Stahlsaiten, die meisten Anfaenger nehmen die Nylon Saiten. Der Grund, dass es so wenige Zitherspieler gibt, sind die wehen Blasen an den Fingern am Anfang habe ich das gefuehl. Wenige Leute haben die Geduld. Ich hoffe aber Du bleibst dabei. Liebe Gruesse von Lotte.
@slytime70 Afraid to say a lot of old Zither's don't seem to be worth very much, but I am no expert! If it's a well built thing in good condition, it might be worth a bit more. Search eBay to get an idea of price range. I picked up an old, very filthy (and moldy) zither for £70, but it's a nice piece after cleaning.
