It's just electronica jazz-hop. Dis is da drum by Herbie Hancock was one of the first album featuring that type of upbeat jazz harmony with electronic sounds, nothing fundamentally new. Except here you have a heavy use of purely electronic drum/bass patterns with some acoustic instruments rather than moslty acoustic with a bit of electronic.
Hey, On the subject of Touhou & Herbie Hancock, I'm very familiar with some of his early stuff (My favorites are from his Mwandishi period, because I'm that demented of a person to love free jazz), but has anyone done a freely improvized arrangement based around a Touhou song? I'm doubting anyone's taken that up to task, though I am aware some Touhou fans enjoy Merzbow... @@Creedlane
Knew what Touhou was though never played any of the games, knew this theme from countless youtube videos as background music. Never expected this at all.
