Finally! After like what feels like forever, I get to finally drive the Lotus Emira. This one comes with the Touring spec, means a road focused setup - GoodYear F1 Supersport Tyres and a road biased suspension setup. Paired with the 3.5L Supercharged V6 and a Manual Gearbox. This is going to be a lot of fun...

Great car. But it is a Lotus. Reliability, ???? Great on a perfect day. Live with it for 10 years. No worries with the Porsche. The Lotus is a wonderful kit car, but there is nothing behind it.

Was the driving mode on sports or track? Or normal. On track the exhaust opens up fully.

Sports mode. Track mode turns off traction control... and I'm not ready for that. Especially when it's not my car LOL

@@ThomasYap track doesnt turn off traction control unless you additionally press the 'turn off traction' button.

Wait till the engine runs in more. Then the power becomes more apparent. You need to hit about 2500km then much smoother and more power. Suspension is spot on. Seats are good but could do with a bit more lumbar support.

Bro I know it's brand new but the price is too high for this car, RM1.2m, I was expecting it to be 600-800k. Alot of choice le, gt3, 458, manual is good but the engine.... Better 458 and add another elise for 1.2m.

Yes. Stiff competition in this price range. Even 2nd hand 911.2 gt3 puts the lotus in a very tight spot.. But nevertheless, the lotus still delivers something extremely unique - the chassis. So it still stands a chance as an underdog to the Porsche giant. I think in the end, it really comes down to what the driver is looking for.

When you say the 2.0 might be the better car you do realise it's 35bhp less, same weight and makes no noise?

@adeelio it's on the websites and spec sheets, for equivalent spec the 4cyl is 12kg lighter, so less than 1%, also mentioned in a few reviews.

@@danielbarnett5953 So with 35bhp less, the amg version hits 0-60 in .1sec more vs v6 manual but still faster when compared to v6 automatic. I think the true decision maker for amg will be how easily tuneable it is. Given there are many ecu flash tunes for these engines out there, it might be that the amg engine will outperform the v6 Toyota engine for less than $1000. This will make the car much more enjoyable.
