A pity it lost the rear luggage tray. The front luggage tray is wierd as the cabin air has to pass around the luggage. I didn't realise about the headlights, a typical bit of American regulation nonsense (that also ruined the Porshe 911).
There are only 10 Lotus 54's left in UK according to DVLA records. I have one in Original condition (owned since 1973) , now has a new Chassis and running gear. They were Black Badge for the death of Jim Clarke (one year only). Very rare cars now if original as most have been modified.
@@smudgetherealmc There is no drive like in a Lotus. I don't understand why people want to modify them from the original design, because they always lose something in the feel. Your 1971 would have been a type 65 Federal with 1565 cc engine ?
@@smudgetherealmc Interesting. my friend had a J reg and it was the Federal type 65. I wonder when the change over was actually? You must have had one of the last type 54's.
