Finally made the choice to become a patron. Ive gotten limitless value from this channel and needed to add to the pie. Keep up the fantastic consistency
Love the videos man, been watching for a while and you're a big inspiration for how I play Magic. You play so calmly and evaluate your options, explaining your thought process as you go. Thanks for being an amazing content creator!
Totally true, I'd like to play with that patience, but it might be easier when you have 150 IQ and good decks 😂😂😂 I really like playing with ratadrabick but it's so annoying 😭😭
Watching you combo off is so great. You barely ever make mistakes and having your comprehensive narration helps me understand the strategies and choices you make. Keep it up!
The hardest concept for me to grasp when learning Magic was that mana and card advantage are the goal, not damage. This combo would have gone a long way to illustrating that. Great video as always LVD your explanations make watching a repeated combo interesting all the way through
I'm usually not a fan of combo decks, but this one is so interesting, being my first time seeing a Lotus Field deck. I especially love the simplicity of a single land that "just" makes 2 extra mana becoming the centerpiece of the deck and single-handedly breaking the normal rules of the game, similar to Nykthos but somehow more elegant.
I've frequently found myself exerting Hope Tender and then cycling Vizier to untap the Hope Tender so it can exert again on the same turn, which generates an absolutely silly amount of mana. For best-of-3, Pioneer Lotus Field decks usually have Dragonlord Dromoka in the sideboard to help against counterspell decks. Dromoka isn't on Arena, so I've been putting Myrel in that spot instead. You should see control opponents squirm when you cast Myrel after they've boarded out all their creature removal for Dovin's Vetoes.
At first I thought that the deck is a little one-sided and vulnerable, but the way you pilot the deck with your limitless expertise made the video incredibly fun to watch! Different options you considered depending on the match-up and the situation at hand really made the deck shine!
I have no idea how to play magic beyond the prebuilt decks me and a few friends shared back in the day. Recently gained an interest in arena again after the card game itch came back, this is wild!
26:35 That Creativity Control deck was very cool and piloted quite well. Izzet control with Gx combo finishers? What a fun game to watch even on the losing end!
I do appreciate a bonkers combo deck that just says "I cast Approach, draw to it, and win the game once I pop off" rather than needing an obscene flurry of triggers to resolve. Opponents don't need to sit and watch in the hopes that you fizzle, but if they choose to watch, it isn't a miserable mess of priority interactions.
Another one you can do for ultimatum is get both omniscience and one with the multiverse plus your tutor spell to get guaranteed omniscience It helps when you have your combo pieces in your hand already
I suppose you could use defabricate and discontinuity in this deck to get around the sac triggers on Arena, which is about as many copies you would need to have some consitency with the trick so extra fields aren’t dead in hand.
What about Fae of Wishes? Is it legal in the format? I got a pioneer precon lotus field combo deck just to have a deck to play and I’ve enjoyed Fae of Woshes going to get Omniscience from the board and other stuff. Hidden Strings needs to be released asap. Shouldn’t there be a copy of Olniscience in the sideboard? I do like Lier in the deck as it makes it so you can get past a control decks counters.
Fae is less synergistic with Lier, but it’s certainly an option. The sideboard can be changed quite a bit, I’ve only found myself getting Approach so far.
@@riccardopiombo222 Did one a while ago which is almost identical, just replace the two win conditions: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uBwsedpUy5s.html
This is probably going to get me to reinstall arena isn't it? Lotus field is one of my favorite cards, but the tale's end/discontinuity build is just too slow and inconsistent against the greasefang/heroic turn 3 kill meta. Now with sylvan scrying and thespian stage I can see myself giving mtga another try
Yeesh, will WotC EVER make the UI cleaner for combo decks? It's ridiculous Arena has been around for what, 6 years now? And playing combo in Arena is still painful as hell, I feel RSI symptons just WATCHING this 🤢🤮
My question is for the community: do you think there are any types of decks that are cheap like the people playing it should be ashamed like it's bad for the game of magic? I've seen people complain about decks that are all counter-magic based, or mono-red in standard, or ridiculously slow control/combo decks that take forever to execute like paradox engine decks. The issue I have is that like once we start to define what's a fun/good/healthy magic deck vs. a toxic strategy, I feel we rule out so much of the format. here's the latest one I hate--anything with the one ring, like sheoldring in particular
This video you said something odd several times. It was "next turn". That doesn't make sense though, there isn't such a thing as "next turn" with signfigant combo decks.
disgusting combos like this one is why I have 0 desire to play historic or explorer. Magic gets progressively worse, and fast, the further you stray from limited.
