@@fernandosaunders5661didn’t expect to see you in the comments! You’re one of the true greats man. You and Mick Karn made me fall in love with bass. Hope you’re well. 🙏🏼
When he is out in front singing wearing a leather jacket, his guitar playing and singing captures me always. It's wonderful when he glances at one of the band with a flash of a smile, I just love that. A complete master.
A commented on Lou's best musical album and it's the bass and Fernando spoke to me ,he's a gentleman,a was starstruck with him ,.that deep base needed ,it blew me away when my dad played me his new sensations LP for first time ,right to the great defender,...love lou .didn't really like the Beatles Stuart Sutcliffe playing andy Warhol n the factory stuff Nico cool ,Sunday morning etc,..some cat
"New Sensations" album was released in 1984. I was the their October show at San Francisco's Warfield Theater. Twenty songs and a million dollars worth of energy.
near last of this song, enigmatic texture was on album version. that was fixed on this movie! groovy song, all players are into one! maybe lead g and d are studio men, so good groove, in lil bit polite manner.
Hi Miguel :) Doing that time period I was in NY & LA recording my album and touring with my band ... But I was in contact with Lou Reed very often doing the recording sessions of New York recording sessions giving him advice ... etc www.fernandosaunders.net open.spotify.com/search/Fernando%20Saunders Fernando Saunders - A Few Moments From The Past - Now Moving Forward - (Video Profile) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JPA7mJh_rXo.html
@@fernandosaunders5661 Do you remember if this video is really from 1990? I can see David Letterman showing the New Sensations LP but that album is from 1984!
Lou Reed appeared many times on shows, such as Letterman's Late Night, and performed older tunes, years after they were released. Would be pretty sure this is the air-date, but it *is* possible that it was repeated on the date I have indexed. Haven't the time to spend tracking down such info.... I just record the date that I wrote down on my original tapes, and roll with it ;)
I'm pretty sure they reran this episode in 1990. I have this on an VHS from that year. New Sensations came out in 84 but Sid McGinnes (the guy playing the yellow guitar) didn't join Lettermans until much later in the 80s...
