Lacks on the defensive end of the court. The rotations he's been a part of were strong enough offensively to bring him off the bench, and saved him from getting torched on the other end of the court. James Harden also had a trash reputation on that end of the court but his teams needed his offense in the starting unit.
@@GeordieHalma harden actually isn’t a bad defender. He just lacks effort. He’s a really good post defender, he has very fast hands for players who are about shoot and pass. He was a good defender in OKC. But, his post defense really shined in Houston.
@@kobe4576 Harden is a decent defender when he tries but I hate when dudes talk about how food his “post defense” is. How often is he actually guarding somebody in the paint? Once a game?
@@GeordieHalma the lack of defense thing is overstated. Only a handful of players play defense. He's a backup to Trae. Does Trae play defense? Lou is actually a better defender than Trae.
he would have a way easier time scoring on reserves while being undersized, thats really why. niggas know he can score on whoever but realistically thats the main reason
The thing that is always forgotten in these discussions is the removal of illegal defense. Much, much more important than the removal of hand checking. It completely changed the way offense was played.
Lou Williams career earnings after 17 seasons will be $85,698,368 avg. 14 pts/game. Lonzo Ball just signed a 4 year 80-85 million dollar contract. Lonzo averaged 14-15 pts/game last year. Lou Williams lost a lot of money. That's crazy!
If I'm second string in basketball I wouldn't feel disrespected bcuz in football when ur second string u only come in for 1 play at a time on 1 side of the field but if we're talking about basketball that 2nd line up is just as important as ur starters when they sub eachother out the game for 3 to 4 mins for off n Def so u still feel like they cant win a chip without u coming off that bench
Seems like the hawks won in that Lou Rondo trade. Clippers could use Lou's offensive qualities in this playoffs. Rondo not bringing much to the table rn tbh.
@@truth9430 he played in "todays game" genius lol and he didnt ave that if he played in these yrs hed ave 30 15 and lose teams gotta make 15 3s again now dump it down aint gone get it
Guys.. people who use internet and follow Gilbert Arenas have heard the word "fuck" and much more. This censorship with beeps is annoying and off-brand for pretty much every guest and the main host.
It's not reading if it's a tiny square in the corner and your just listening to it not watching it . That's the thing . Usually when people post current day things , it's a day or two old from when they recorded . A couple weeks of its a larger company like showtime or something . It was my fault to assume it was newer , not my fault to assume that they have a "from the vault" section where they air old interviews .
Gil's partner let them talk and then when they go quiet he should contribute with a question or something to keep the podcast going but he's doing too much input when the audience honestly wants to hear the ball players
A check of pace for 70s early 80s shows it was higher than the near term 2000s it did slow 85 to 90. Lou is slight and great in your era but so was Tiny A. 35 and 14 . Never been matched. And expansion has diluted your pool somewhat . When there were 16 teams you had elite athletes and that % has not changed.
Doc Rivers is overrated. That's all. No one said he was unlikeable. He's just not some HOF coach he's made out to be. He has practically the same win % as Frank Vogel and he never gets the accolades or praise Doc does.
Doc gets credit for the teams he has gotten to overachieve. He is great at getting guys to play above their level as a team that's an underdog but struggles with a bunch of talented players, getting them to mesh
@@talkingbroccoli why is it so hard for yall to understand that 2 truths can live at the same time?... no coach can not be a really good coach if his teams often play better than they actually are. That's a testament to really good coaching. But also struggle with expectation.... this isn't hard. Yall make it hard. He is a really good coach that struggles with very high expectations... that's what makes coaches like spoelstra, pop and others the very top tier. Their ability to do it all. There are hall of fame coaches that have the same traits doc has. But don't even have the ring he has
@@talkingbroccoli for Everything we are acknowledging is his issue, he got it right once and as they say, you only need to be right once... he has done that... there aren't enough coaches that have won a title, to discredit him that much. More coaches than not have had lots of talent and not win it all. He can say that
@@andreearl3258My original statement from 4 months ago is still true lol. He’s not a HOF coach but he is lauded like he’s a top tier coach. He’s like the majority of coaches in sports. Average at best.
I love hearing real hoopers talk about the game with logical sense. Not getting emotionally attached to their favorite 90’s player. And I’m sorry but all these wnba chics and Steven A type analysis are annoying af and don’t know shiix. I go to shows like this, all the smoke and KG & Paul Pierce to get my hoops talk. No funny but Malika Andrews or whatever thfvkw her name should have been the first to get laid off.
Gil tripping here. There are short lock ups. Pj tucker, pat bev, Roberson was 67, kawhi 67. Gil disrespecting them the same as he feel they are. Ironic. Pros and cons to all areas minus 60’
