I think you may be right they must of been confused.

I cant imagine the Brits living near our military bases are that impressed anymore since everyone stationed there only buys American cars lol. No American wants to drive around in a SAAB or a Mini while stationed in the UK. I also just learned that the US military pays for shipping for one privately owned vehicle per person at their duty station so a lot of those teenagers and young adults getting that new 60k military pay go out and buy big Challengers and Chargers and have them shipped to the UK.

No Americans stationed in Japan bother importing or buying American cars since they are really expensive in either regard. The young guys in Japan, for a 3 year average tour, have been known to dump $13-20k into a hand-me-down 90's Skyline or Sylvia that has undergone 10 tours worth of boot mods. In the end, they sell them to the next weeb that shows up looking to go Too Fast Too Furious. I assume the same thing would be true in Europe at any military base. I was mostly talking about the CONUS bases where Challengers, Chargers, Mustangs, Camaros, Darts and such pack every parking lot. At the end of the day, they are really annoying in the fact that they all try to race directly off of base, sometimes, hillariously being immediately pulled over by cops that know the drill.
