Great video! Love the 75, spent 7years flying it. It's gonna be loud when you're seated right in front of the engine. Either way, that's the sound or power.

Yeah, the 75 will be missed when it’s gone. It was definitely really loud but I liked it! Did you enjoy flying the 75?

@@dav198 Loved it! Best flying transport category jet I've flown. Loads of power, great cockpit and perfect control harmony. The routes were varied too. Some days trans-cons, other days short hops. The 75 could make money on nearly any leg.

When my ex’s brother got married many years ago we all had a few too many toasts at the reception and no one was feeling too great the next morning. I’m laughing at this memory. Several of us drove to the airport to take off in different directions, moaning and groaning the whole ride. One of the guys said, upon watching a 757 take off, “Look at that baby climb!” It became a favorite running line for years.

I'm gonna have to say watching engine 1 or 4 bounce around on a 747 on rotation takes the cake. 😉

@@michaeltoddaviation fair enough 🤣 miss these quad jets but glad to see they’ll still be flying for cargo (and some pax ops)

As always great video. This my first time seeing Orlando's Airport as many times I have been in Orlando. It's amazing how you can experience a place you haven't been yet though another person eye's or experiences. Thank you for this video and your experience keep up the great work.

Great video. Thanks. My second favorite engine is the RB 211. #1 is the GE90-115B. The RB211 sounds great with its distinctive "buzz saw" at full power. Nothing though, can beat the GE90-115B with that soul-shaking roar of 115,000 pounds of thrust coming alive during the takeoff role.
@dav198
@dav198 Год назад
I had the opportunity to enjoy the GE90 engine about a year before this flight. I enjoyed every minute of it... especially during takeoff. Pure 115k lbf generated by each engine, although probably less because of the short flight and light load. Always enjoy buzzsaw takeoffs... sad these are going to be rare soon with newer engines, but happy for the technological advancements making the passenger experience better (and for the ground, too, as there's less noise).

@dav198
@dav198 Год назад
@@markhines2583 I think they used the RB211 as well, but not sure. Nothing beats the experience of flying on a trijet, I’m sure. Didn’t get to fly on one, though. Sad the trijets are gone (except for cargo) but happy for the technological advancements to make twinjets more efficient and reliable.

I'm almost 60 and I still gawk out the window like a child whenever I take off in an airliner. I always request, (and have only once ever been denied) a wing-window seat so I can can watch the wings flex, the compressor spin, the flaps/speedbrakes/etc. operating, and so on.
@dav198
@dav198 Год назад
I hope I'll be one of those who will look out of the window every time I fly and be appreciative of these big flying metal tubes. I enjoy watching the engine and the wing - it's amazing how these things function

Rocket ship time!! I always schedule my flights from Tampa via ATL to BMI on the Delta 757. Use to schedule my flights on the MD-80s because of the JT8D engine's. Their all retired now.
@dav198
@dav198 Год назад
Sadly, I only got a chance to ride on the Super 80 once. I was seated in the last row, so it was loud even though I got a full view of the engine (it blocked the window lol). Hoping to get more 757 flights!

@vbscript2
@vbscript2 Год назад
@@dav198 Especially the geared turbofans. It's amazing how quiet those things are even at takeoff power. That said, it's just hard to beat the sound of a good 'ole GE90-115b spooling up to bid a city goodbye with 115,000 pounds of thrust.
@vbscript2
@vbscript2 Год назад
Nowadays it's hard not to schedule a flight from TPA or MCO to ATL on a 757. Delta really likes their 757s, especially out of ATL. It's surprising how many even relatively small markets in the Southeast they've been flying those to from ATL this year. They've even been serving routes like SAV and ORF.

If it cant be hard to slap on techy winglets to dated wing desighns on aircraft, surely it can be so difficult to go the the howl hog to NEO up dated aircraft... soo many new technologies out there now today to radically modified old aircraft including the 757 varients..boeing is being really numb & lazy to not jump at massive chance in the industry to not awesomely modernize the 757..
@dav198
@dav198 Год назад
Yeah, I wish there was a 757NG or something like that (with updated engines, at least). Instead, we got the 737... when the 757 could at least be a better competitor with some new engines (and maybe some other mods too)... sounds a lot easier too (at least to me)
@DarkLime4209
@DarkLime4209 Год назад
@@dav198 yea well Boing already has great MoM solution Potential in the 757 varient.. Just look at the amazing things airbus has done with the modernization of the A330 NEO Products.. even the A330-800 neo has great MoM potential, don't know why more carriers aren't investing more in to the incredible capabilities & features that aircraft has on offer.. Instead Boing thinks another 787 varient is an MoM Solution. MoM stands for Middle of the Market, in aviation terms.
@dav198
@dav198 Год назад
@@DarkLime4209 Agreed! I'd take a 757 (or even 767) with new engines because of their potential. To me, the 787 just seems to be too big/strong for a MoM and the 330 doesn't seem too popular...
