I don't know what makes it loud but my buddy has 2 deaf bonce 18s in a single cab he cut a big square into the back of the cab and placed his box there. He has a hard cover so no water can get to them. I think it's nuts but it's his daily driver. He is running 2 5k amps. He is at .75 ohm.

I have 2 10" Sundown ZV6 on a SALT-6 in a SuperCrew F-150. Subs point up and port fires forward between the driver seat and center console. I have no complaints, but I would be interested to hear if the port direction makes a difference or not.

They probably are 15s but I did see a video the other day that Jacob posted as “3 18s” and I’m here to say those were most definitely 15s

Yes...if you have a truck or better yet a minivan (like me) facing the subs up and the port has a devastating effect. Iveyurned my box in all directions and facing up with port closest to the back door sends the sound ip to the roof around to that front windshield with brute authority. It gives the sub the openess needed to develop and time to travel..there's nothing like a box made minivan..with no seats

What's the best subwoofer orientation for a SUV to get loud subs up port up, subs up port back or subs back port back?

-Subs up port to the rear -Sub up port up for half walls -Full Wall port is normally placed on the driver's side but this is just preference, the center and passenger side will play just as well!

Sub up/port to the driver side door or sub forward and port to driver door is what I’ve found to give the most output

With box rise it probably isn’t that terrible. I’m in the process of finishing my b pillar flat wall and I’ll be running my amps strapped at .5 so each amp will see .25. Plenty of cooling and box rise they won’t put up to much of a fuss

Bass is Bass! No matter the vehicle its coming from. Most hate because they can't afford to do it. It takes time alot of money to be loud! So just sit back and enjoy the bass like the rest of us

@@chrissmith6111 I agree. Iv been into car audio for a long time, and as a kid, I had a subwoofer in a bucket. I respect everyone’s build big or small, but there’s some tension between walls and non wall. Here in Hawaii there’s a saying that goes around that I don’t like either. “It’s built, not bought”. This is the same with walls Vs non walls.

Personally, after having a wall and upface build for 2 18s (everything else was subs up port up), I like upface better. Sounds a lot more surround sound and doesn't destroy my front end as badly. Maybe just personal preference and like some have said, a lot easier to drive. Plus a lot of states complain about having rear window blocked unless you have a commercial tag.
